Can you modify a ressie?

Example: I have a ressie for 6 days in July. I am thinking of dropping the amount of days to 4. Do they have to cancel and rebook or can ms just drop 2 days off??? I am afraid if they have to cancel, I will lose the room altogether..

They can drop days off either end easily and safely. Dropping days in the middle is doable but more difficult and somewhat risky.
