I'm tacking a couple days as WDW to my dd's HS band trip. We want to spend 2 more nights on property, after 3 nights off. We usually travel with the whole family, and our favorite resort is the Yacht Club villas, primarily because we like to eat at one of the countries in Epcot every night. I'm not wanting to spend that kind of money for just the two of us for 2 nights. Which of the moderate resorts (Port Orleans, etc) are an easy/short transportation ride to the back gate of Epcot?

I'm somewhat open to the value resorts, but I'm guessing they are less convenient to where I want to be?

There really is no transportation to the back side of Epcot, unless you stay at a boardwalk area resort. Have you checked out the Swan or Dolphin? Those are usually in the same price range as a Disney moderate.

Otherwise, both POR and POFQ are about 7 minutes away from Epcot. It is a very short bus ride from either of them to the front of the park. Or you could stay at any resort and Uber to the Beach Club. That will get you where you want to be with minimal cost.

I second what maxiesmom said, check Swan and Dolphin. Otherwise, if you stay at a mod, simply uber/lyft/Minnie Van to BC and walk into EP WS from there. Or bus to EP and walk back to WS. There are no direct buses resort-to-resort to get to the EP IG entrance nor could you drive and park at an EP resort just to go into the park unless you valet park at one of the resorts.

I pick POR! Short bus ride to Epcot main gate. As others said, there are no bus drop offs at the back of Epcot.

The Yacht Club does not have Villas. Are you thinking of the Beach Club Villas?
As others have said there isn’t any way Transportation to get to the IG at Epcot without staying at an Epcot Area Resort.

Not true. The gondola system being constructed now, and opening some time in 2019, will connect Art of Animation/Pop Century to Caribbean Beach, where passengers can switch to either Hollywood Studios or Swan/Dolphin (so, Boardwalk area) to Epcot's International Gateway.

TL/DR: Caribbean Beach or Pop Century or Art of Animation.

POR or POFQ always get my vote - the ride to Epcot via car is so easy. Buses aren't bad either but depending on what stop you are at, you can have a few stops before you get to the main gate.

As far as Value - Pop or AoA are going to the closest.

Another vote for the Swan and Dolphin. Be aware the room price does not include the resort fee, which when added often matches or exceeds the price of a deluxe. If you have Marriott or Starwood points, use them there.

I'm confused. The Skyliner station at EP is being built directly behind EP IG. There won't be a station at Swan/Dolphin. Perhaps I'm misunderstanding your post.

I think @kaytieeldr was indicating the HS station might serve the Swan / Dolphin but I would consider that much further than the Epcot IG Skyliner station. It is a long walk to the HS parking lot.

Thanks everyone. We stayed at whichever resort is right next to the IG. I can never remember YC vs BC.

I think Uber may be the way to go. I'll look at the Caribbean also. I hate having to trek from the front thru and back Epcot just for dinner, coming in thru the back is so much easier. But maybe I'm just spoiled.

You could also take Disney transportation to HS and then a boat to the IG. It would be a rather lengthy commute but costs $0.

Stayed at POFQ last month and we used Lyft one night after leaving Epcot. Watched illuminations near Japan and walked out the IG to the Boardwalk. Ordered a Lyft and it was there within 3 minutes. I had a 25% off credit for Lyft, but full price would have been around $8-9.

I like this plan, see a bit of the boardwalk, and go in for a drink at my favorite bar at Disney, belleview lounge before calling for a ride.
