Mod resort recommendation

Pofq. The other moderates are so spread out that I find it very inconvenient. Plus at pofq the boat to dtd is scenic. We also like to take a watermousr boat down the sassagoula.

We love the mansion section of POR. The buildings are along the river, so pretty. Rooms have just been refurbished. The landscaping is amazing.
Love the boat to DTD, great food court, evening entertainment in the lounge, horse & carriage rides, and just strolling around the river paths. :goodvibes

Another vote for the POR mansions - been there twice, will do it again on next trip. Each section of buildings has a smaller quiet pool which should be much less crowded than the main pool.

Another vote for POR mansions, hands down.

I did a solo, all resorts, no parks trip for 8 days two years ago.

I was in a riverview corner room in Parterre Place, not 30 feet from the river.

I was near the foot bridge that went over to the front of the main building, so it was very easy to get on the water taxi at 10:00 am for a late breakfast. I walked around DTD, or took the water taxi over to SSR, sat on the deck and had munchies at the Turf Club. Spent one day at the spa.

Used the DTD hub to get over to the resorts for dinner each night. One night I did take the bus to DHS, then took the friendship boat over to BWI to go to Kouzzina's.

There are so many different modes of transportation, it is so spread out, so it is so quiet. There are so many different experiences you can have staying there.

Highly recommend.

What would your recommendation be for a moderate resort if we have no children?
Coronado Springs would be my choice for a couple. Great lounges and bars, small spa services, 24 hr access to the fitness center.

My DH and I love CSR. The digsite pool and bar is so much fun and never crowded. The rooms have comfy down comforters, nice modern decor, and a nice desk area. We also like the night club there as well.

I'd recommend either CSR or POFQ. I've stayed at all 4 moderates. I've had solo trips where I've stayed at POR and CSR. I've also had trips with my DD when I've stayed at CBR, POFQ, and CSR.

POFQ is my favorite moderate because of its size. I also really enjoyed the theming of that resort and the boat to DTD.

CSR feels very relaxing. It has the spa and fitness center. I love the hammocks by the lake. But the drawback is its size. It is very spread out and can require quite a bit of walking.

For an adult coupld with no children the two that I would choose are CSR and POFQ.

If you are night people who like coktails and socializing at night on site, CSR has a lot more to offer. It also is a convention resort and seems to have a more adult feel. With a full service restaurant and a spa, it also has the closest amenities to a deluxe.

POFQ is smaller. It can be romantic and the grounds are beautiful. It also has a boat that goes to DTD, whoch is nice.

POFQ would be my first choice. The ability to take a romantic carriage ride or take the boat to DTD for a drink in the evening add a lot of value to the POR moderates.

However if you live near/or visit New Orleans often, then I would say CSR for the entirely different southwest feel.

We like them all and stay at a different one each time. We're just fickle. ;) You really can't go wrong with any of them IMO. Take a really good look at the resort photos and just pick the one that appeals to YOU the most! Everyone has their own opinions- and no one is wrong. But nobody knows you and your tastes better than YOU!.

Our favorite resort is POR - We love how spread out it is, the landscaping, the food court rocks and we love strolling by the water.

Coronado is a close second for all of the same reasons, although the landscaping isn't as nice. We do like the waterside bar here. We like to order a drink and sit by the water or lay in one of the many hammocks!

Thanks everyone. I looked into POR and it looks very nice! What type of room do I need to book for a Magnolia Bend room?
