Mnsshp

We are probably going in May, and I WISH that MNSSHP was in the spring/summer lol. We LOVED it the first time we went in 2010. We rode BTMM 5 times in a row in the dark...the kids are already talking about staying late on one of our nights to do that again. We walked on almost all the rides at MNSSHP, and it was an amazing time. I'll do it every time i go to MK in the fall.

The Halloween party was a highlight of our trip last September! We had a great night meeting characters and having really short lines at rides. I would recommend going and make sure you dress up!:)

We've trick or treated in the MK twice now, also in Disneyland *10/12* we'll for sure attend the party again this year!
10/09 we went to a Friday night party, had a great time!
Last year we went to a Sunday night party, it was fantastic, entered the park at 4, my favorite part - lining up for the dwarves an hour before party time, DD wandered around FL, rode a few rides - fantastic pictures! We went as Glinda and the China Girl from Oz, I looked pretty fantastic, little girls reactions were so sweet :flower3:

We attended our first MNSSHP last October a few days before Halloween, so it was "sold out", and had a fantastic time. It was the highlight of our trip for both me, my DH, and our two boys (ages 5 & 7) We're usually not big halloween people, but we all dressed up and had a blast. We didn't do many trick or treat lines or character meets - we focused on rides until it was time to watch the fireworks, and pretty much everything other than HM was walk on. We stuck around for the second parade, and easily found front row seats on Main Street with no one standing behind us. Even though it was a sold out party, we found it to be true that a lot of people leave after the fireworks - esp those with small children. The walk between the Hub and the train station on Main Street was horrendous to say the least, but that's too be expected. We would do MNSSHP again in a heartbeat.

Great thread!!! Already thinking about a possible October trip with my family to celebrate my 30th birthday. I was wondering if the MNSSHP was worth the extra money. The more I read, the more excited I get. Totally gonna get tickets when they become avialable. Thanks everyone for the reviews and suggestions! Now just gotta think of a costume… :thumbsup2

We love the MNSSHP! In fact, DH and I went last year (sans kids) and decided that next year we are going to take the little ones. The older boys can't go anymore as they are in football.

I highly, highly suggest it! Avoid weekends and go when it is the lowest price. :goodvibes

Yay! If I could fly to Florida every Halloween, I would! We are not parade people, but the MNSSHP Parade is one we will actually watch.

Oh, and the fireworks are amazing!

The kids have never received so much candy as they did at the party! Handfuls are given... not just the "crappy" stuff either!

We love it! We usually go every October just for it (plus food and win). My kids are now 3 and 5 and we love the parade, shorter lines and all the yummy candy!! Halloween is also my family's favorite holiday so that could have something to do with it :)

We did the MNSHP with a 5 year old.
Best money we spent on a vacation.

We got up early- went for a character ADR breakfast, took a swim, napped (we told her its only a rest) she slept for almost 2 hours. Party was midweek of our stay. went to MK at 4pm

rode rides then concentrated on party stuff. Meeting characters, Seven dwarfs were a must. saw the cinderella carriage. among many others. saw Villians show, Hallowishes, Castle projection show. Went trick or treating
saw the second parade and the park cleared out.

We manage Fantasy Land from 10 til 11:30 then headed to Woodys dance Party where she danced her heart away with Woody and jesse til Park closing

we did a Christmas party this past year and I was soo disappointed. It was not a sold out party but it was soo crowded.
80 minute wait for Repunzel. Over an hour for Scrooge. We didnt wait for the Dwarfs since we already had them. Lines for cookies (?) were out the door. Lines for the rides were super long I would not do christmas again

Now I have the "Boo To You" parade song in my head.... LOL! I've been to the Halloween party in CA twice - 2008 and 2011. Did the MK party in 2010, then the Christmas party at MK in 2012. Going with a different friend this October and she's never done any of the holiday parties, so we will probably do MNSSHP this year. We are planning to be in FL October 21-30, so I know we will have to get tickets early and it will be crowded. LOL

We went for the first time last year on Oct 6th. We had such a blast that we went again on the 10th!!! It was DH and I with our 3 dd's 13, 11, and 10. I used EasyWDW to help plan out the things we wanted to accomplish. The kids really wanted a picture with the Dwarfs so we did that first. Grabbed a snack and got in line early. We were the first ones there! We loved the parade and the fireworks. Kids loved trick or treating. I wish we had done a few more characters but we did see Mickey and Minnie in their Halloween outfits as well as Maleficent so I was happy with that! The girls loved the dance party as well. Main st was VERY crowded but we worked around it. We did a few rides with no wait which was nice too.

I say go for it and don't listen to the negativity!!! :)

I LOVE reading all the positive feedback about this party! :thumbsup2 We will be there from 10/10 - 10/15. Does anyone know when the dates will be released and also when is the time to buy tickets? I would love to hear more about the dance parties. Who is there? What time does that take place during the party?
Thanks for all the great info so far!

Dates are released and tickets go on sale historically about May 1.

Two dance parties normally, for the entire length of the 5-hour party. Frontierland party features Toy Story characters, Tomorrowland is usually centered around Stitch and Pluto I think.

Tickets will go on sale around May 1. Oct park hours will be released in mid to late March, so we will know the dates then. For your dates, parties will likely be the 10th and 13th. Dance parties run through 11:30 or so, and there are usually 2, one in the Diamond a Horseshoe with Woody, Jessie, and Bullseye, and one in Tomorrowland. Last year it was a Monsters Inc. party, but not sure if that character line up will change this year. They are similar to the Disney Junior dance party in that they are NOT meet and greet opportunities, but you can take photos of your kids dancing alongside the characters. Sometimes a Photopass person will be around, too.

Do you remember the a thread from last year that showed which parties sold out? or crowd levels?

You can see the parties that sold out in post #1 of my guest list thread. They are indicated as sold out in green next to each date. Not sure if Nov. 1 sold out, but it probably did.

THanks for the link!I might go the last week of September. I remembered that a party in late september sold out...which I thought was kind of weird.
I think I remember reading it was a CM date??? I guess that I should pick Sunday the 28th this year vs. Friday 9/26. Isn't it crazy how we Dis think ahead?
