This is going to be our 1st time going as DVC members and I know we can get a discount on the titckets.....now what I need to know is can we just pay for them when we get up to WDW or do we have to get them now? We'll be going the Friday the 23 Sept (my b-day day). I don't think it is going to be sold out for that day....lol

AP & DVC Member Discounted Special Event tickets are by advance purchase only. If you purchase at the gate, they will be full price even if you purchase a day or more before the event.

When do you arrive at WDW? As long as you buy at least one day in advance you will get the discount price. You can buy them at the concierge desk of your resort. I agree that the party will probably not sell out that night. I always wait to buy tickets for the parties just in case we have a change in plans and also to check the weather.

Is this event worth the $165 for 3 people? We have an October trip planned for the family and were going to take our DD5. But for that money don't know it's worth it. Odds are she won't make it until midnight at 5 and I don't know that I want to pay that for a special parade, candy we'll just throw away anyway and a couple extra hours in the park.

Thoughts?

I would wait until DD is older and can appreciate the extras. Yes you will pay even more later but you will get more bang for your buck.

DW and I have discuss the age issue every WDW trip after seeing exhausted children and upset families. We asked our own, now adult children how the liked DL and WDW as they were growing up and which vacation did they like the best. The answer was the same from both, they remember being on vacation, but they don't remember any details until the age of 9 or 10.
