thanks. I saw this too. I'm really hoping the dates that were "cancelled" that I read about are not really cancelled. The date I wanted to go MK still closes early. Fingers crossed for the dates we want. I hope they do go on sale tomorrow at least that way I can quit thinking about it!

Yeeesh. We're going 9/18 - 9/25 and we planned on going to the party on the 21st. So that's good....here's the bummer. we also planned for a MK day on 9/23 !! We've got ressies at Tony's for 6:55 !!! Are they going to cancel our ressies or let us eat then escort us out ? I do not want to try to get ressies someplace else at this point if possible. I don't mind if we can still go eat but then leave after dinner. we can just hit another park that night. Does anyone know if they might cancel our reservations for that night if they're so close to the party time ? :confused3

I know the PP said "this year", but is it possible she is talking about cancellations for LAST year? If they haven't even officially announced the schedule, it really wouldn't be a cancellation, would it?

this is how HHN got. they sell way too many tickets and then you are pretty much forced to buy a fastpass for $70 extra if you want to do anything at all

I never heard of this. What is it?:confused3 They don't even use regular FPs during parties.

you're fine. As I mentioned in my post earlier here....

We had resv for LTT at 6:15pm or so on a party night. When we left dinner it was 7:15 - 7:30ish. We werent rushed out from LTT and were not escorted out of the park to the turnstiles. We walked out on our own pace and looked at some of the decorations and took some pictures of things as we left. We couldn't go on rides (or even into the stores -- which seemed odd to me, Disney wanting to NOT sell something?!?!?) but otherwise nobody said a word to us about being in the park as we left.

They wont cancel your reservations or walk you out of the park when you are done.

that's a relief ! thank you !! after all the planning I did NOT want to go back to the drawing board and rework ADR's for that night ! :scared1:

The person was talking about Universal and HHN, they meant express pass. The price goes up due to demand and on a crowded halloween night, it costs more.

one thing about parties. An average attendance on a summer day is about 45-50,000. Capacity, think new years and july 4th, is about 85-90,000. A party night is capped at about 35,000. A pirate and princess party drew in about 10,000 on a good night (if any one has been to one). Just so you get the idea of crowd levels.

I've been to parties during slower time in Sept and had other people ruin my night. And I've gone to the sold out Nov 1st party and had a wonderful time.

Take your choice between using the ticket as a park day or party night. Yes, some of the halloween only things are going to be busy. Cindy's coach picture always has a line, sometimes 20 mins long. Characters are busy about the first 2-3hrs of the party, sometimes they can have 45min lines all night. Be waiting in the tent around 6:30 to be first in line if this is something you want to do. I usually wind up skipping minnie, cause she's in her gazebo and the line is long by the time i get out there, but mickey is a must. He's also in the garden rather than the tent, so don't let the line in the house fool you... It really doesn't snake the whole way through like if you were seeing him during the day.

Like i said, i find my spot in castle hub to watch the fireworks, mix and mingle, then the second parade. After that, head to columbia harbour house, riverboat dock and TSI for loading up on candy.

Strollers are free during the party, so no need to take one from some one leaving... Plus who knows what that kid did in it during the day. At least one from the rental area is wiped out before going to the next person. I always grab one, i put big mickey in it, and use it for holding the candy and sitting in it during the parade and fireworks. My legs get numbed if i sit on the ground too long. Plus we usually stop along the way to the fireworks to get food, so it makes carrying the trays so much easier. Then eat while we're waiting.

My first time going wasted a lot of time running here and there. After that, i've worked out a routine for party nights, and it doesn't change much for christmas or P&P parties.

And i always wear a costume. And try to think of something original. I've done sorceror mickey, and king mickey from kingdom hearts. Kari's done, davy crockett, dream finder, and roxas from kingdom hearts.
Pirates are the normal family thing. So is dalmations for bigger groups.

I just changed my reservation so we could be there during the party. The parties are starting on September 14th.

To make the finances work out for extra expense of party tix, (we usually have no.expiration park tickets) and during the trip that we do Halloween party,we skip a day at Magic Kingdom and that day just enjoy pool and shopping...then we dress up and enjoy the Halloween party that night....we feel like we save a day of the regular park tickets and we get to do the party at MK which is special, and a bit less crowded when we've gone.We like the Christmas party best, but it's hard to go that time of year for us.And if we also have park hoppers,we can always squeeze another evening at MK in on the day we do Animal Kingdom,as it usually closes fairly early.:goodvibes

This will be our first MNSSHP I have wanted to do it for awhile now, so I bought tickets for 3 partynights for 3 of us! I figure if I am there...I will want to stay!! My family thinks I am obsessed!! :wizard:

It does work out to cost a little bit less than the regular park tickets. We felt that we still got to do everything we wanted to do, just paid a little less to get in.

Having been to a MNSSHP every year for the last decade (except 2009 :sad2:) I would say DEFINITELY WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!

We went on Halloween night in 2008 and it was not much busier than other nights. It was even more fun because it was actually Halloween..more people were in costume and just good spirits overall.

It is a Must for our family!!!

:thumbsup2

I bought 3 tickets for two of the party nights while we are there in October, so I am right there with you! I prefer not to call it obsessed, I call it passionate!

The extra money stinks, but it is also what keeps the crowds down. It is one of our favorite holidays, my children have so many different costumes they spend the day changing from one superhero to the next (DS5 & DS2). We have gone to MNSSHP 3 times now and we are going again this Oct. We can't wait !! we absolutely love seeing the characters in costumes, and all the little dance parties. The kids get to dance with the characters and spend more time with them than normal. The parades are great, you see a lot of characters that you do not normally see. Plus, the lines for the rides are so short you can pretty much walk right onto any ride that you want.

If you can afford it I say GO GO GO !!! At least try it 1x, while your kids will be really into it. (we don't really eat candy, so that wasn't a big factor in our decision, but we did the trick or treating anyway and the kids loved it)
