If we go to the Halloween party with the intent of mostly doing rides, what kind of wait times should we expect in general? I know the Mine Train will probably be packed all night, but what about the other main MK attractions?

If I remember correctly the wait times were not so bad, I'm sure the TIME (what part of the month) you attend may play into the mix. My family went in September last year and we had great opportunities for the rides in between trick or treating!

We have tickets for the first party on Sept 15th. We did it last year and concentrated on characters and not many rides. This time around we figure to get maybe one or two characters we may have missed but mostly do rides.

We went in the first part of Sept and had a great time!! You should be good with the ride situation, don't for ge<a href="http://www.***********************/"><img src="http://www.***********************/tickers/drfn1sexkk6henob.png" alt="www.*********************** Ticker" border="0"/></a>t to watch the parade, my favorite part was the headless horseman!

We were at the first party last year and ride wait times were great. We walked on Splash, BTMRR, even HM once it got dark. Walked on SDMT at 11:15 and rode twice in a row; posted wait was 20 minutes. We hadn't looked at the wait time any earlier in the night so I can't speak for that particular ride before 11:15. Have a great time!

We were the only people at the Haunted Mansion to ride. I mean we were the ONLY ones. No wait at all. No one in front of us or behind us at that point. We had watched the parade and did some trick or treating and then went to the Haunted Mansion (No one in line).

Go into the park at 4pm when your MNSSHP ticket allows and get all your rides out of the way then. A great deal of people leave the MK after the 3:00 parade on HP days and the ride times are pretty minimal starting at 4pm. Now if you're looking to ride rides throughout the night, most people do the party things at the party, the rides aren't forgotten about, but they're also not the main focal point either.

That's kinda the plan. I was going to set up my three FP's for rides between 4 and 7pm.

You don't get FP's with the MNSSHP ticket even when entering at 4pm. Unless you're using a regular park ticket in combination with your MNSSHP ticket that day, that's the only way you can use FP's, and that would only be until 7pm.

Ride waits are always low during a party. Most don't pay what it costs to do a hard ticket party to do rides when they can add an extra day on a multiple day ticket so inexpensively.

Go and enjoy. Most are there for the party specific stuff (parade, shows, fireworks, characters). Main Street will be very busy. Rides will be great.

Not true - I went to MVMCP last year and had 3 fp+ on the MVMCP ticket between 4 and 7. We went to a sold out party. The lines for most rides were not bad however Splash and BTMRR were down so they pushed up lines on Space and Mine train.

Incorrect. We made 3 FP reservations from 4-7pm last year with just a party ticket.

I think the ride wait times depend greatly on what party you attend. The party we went to on a Friday night during Fall Break last October was packed. It was a sold out night. Waits for the Haunted Mansion never went under 45 minutes. The 7DMT stayed between 75-90 minutes, and the Mountains in Frontierland were a solid 30-45.

If this is true than someone with a regular day ticket plus a seperate party ticket could make 6 FP reservations. 3 before 4:00 and then 3 between 4&7.

I don't see how that is possible.

I just spoke to Disney to confirm my belief from being at the MNSSHP last year and knowing that we couldn't do FP+ for the hard ticketed event.
Disney has confirmed what I understood to be true. The only way you can get the FP+ allowances the day of the MNSSHP (hard ticketed event) is if you had a regular park ticket or hopper and used it in the same day for your FP+ ressies up to the start of the party at 7 (official start). After 7pm there are NO FP+ allowances and between 4-7 the only way you are getting FP's is if you are using a NON HARD TICKET (non-Party ticket).

You only get 3 FP+ reservations per day, regardless of how many tickets you have.

Yet another example of a phone CM giving out bad information. You can get FP+ reservations using an MNSSHP ticket, although not during the actual party hours - only between the hours of 4-7. (Well, actually, I think you can book them for earlier, but with only an MNSSHP ticket, you wouldn't be able to get in the park to use them.)
This is discussed in Mesaboy's FP+ thread in bullet point #11 under General:

Last year we had a 6 day hopper and a MVMCP ticket. We were able to do 7 days worth of fast passes, with one on the party night between 4 and 7. We never had any issue using any other fast passes.

We were at a sold out party, the Friday before Halloween, and the wait times for rides tended to be longer than we expected them to be. So we did some of the kiddie rides with our grandson until people started to line up for the first parade, then the ride lines got shorter. Toward 9 pm the wait time for Haunted Mansion was fifteen minutes. And Splash Mountain at 9:15pm was only about a five minute wait. But the line stayed really long for SDMT. I think it was still a 60 minute wait after the second parade. :( We had really hoped the ride times would be shorter. I think if you can get a party that is not sold out, then it would be a better experience.

Well then everyone who has had FP+ ressies on their hard party ticket must be wrong. FTR, I only had party tickets. We were at Universal except for the party
