MNSSHP free picture??

Hi, I remember last year there was talk of a free picture taken and then mailed back home. I did go to MNSSHP last year but couldn;t find anything on the map plus I asked a few cm's who knew nothing about it. Upon returning home many disers were reporting to have received the free pic. Am I missing something? I will be at MNSSHP Sept 29 so I don;t want to miss out again!! Thanks!!!

Thank you for contacting the Walt Disney World Resort.

This year there will be no free photo, this year guests attending Mickey's Not So Scary Haloween Party will receive a 50% discount code to use for purchase on all of the 5 x 7 photos on-site or on-line from their experience during the event.

With Disney's PhotoPass photographers will be located throughout the park, guests will have more time to spend enjoying the parks instead of standing in line waiting for just one photo or photographer.

Last year the photo was taken inside the hall of Presidents. I don't remember it being on the map anywhere, we just happened upon it.

I plan on buying the Photopass CD anyway so I am in some pictures. I guess that all of our MNSSHP pictures will be on there, which means that 50% discount means nothing if I'm buying the whole CD, right?

I have to say I am surprised that they took this complimentary picture away. We have received one for the last 5 years. It has never been just one photographer. They had about 5 or so set up at each location and a couple of locations throughout the park and was very little if no wait time for these pictures to be taken, especially if you did it first thing.

I'm disappointed but we have to go with the flow I guess.

Did you email them and ask and this was their response to YOU? Or is this second hand info?

It wouldn't surprise me if its true, I'm just curious.

Its amazing that each year the prices go up but the perks/benefits one by one go away.

Yes, I emailed Disney directly and they responded directly, plus I have a friend who has a friend who works for Disney and she said the same thing, no free picture......

As much as I loved the free picture, I won't mind skipping that long line this year and having more time for the party itself. Especially if there are photopass photographers out and we can put those on our CD.

I think one of the important things when reading the info site linked is at the bottom it does say everything is subject to change which I would think unfortunately includes the free pic. 50% is better than nothing though!

I know for Mother's Day at Epcot instead of them mailing it, Disney gave out a photocard and we went and got our free 5X7....surprised the same isn't true for a paid event.
