My daughter (19) and I are going in September. We have been seeing things about the MNSSHP. Without having children with us, is this event worth the extra money? Can someone give me an overview of it from an adult's point of view?

DH and I went last year. We did not watch the parade or fireworks and went to ride the rides (and not wait in lines). We did pretty much walk on a lot of rides...rode BTM 3 times during fireworks which was pretty cool. Some rides, like Haunted Mansion, still had a wait. We went through trick or treat lines to bring candy home to the kids (the lines for this were crazy long in many spots but we found a couple quickie lines...candy is little cheap stuff). It was neat to see all the costumes. But, it was crazy crowded (the walkways and it was especially jam packed around the castle). We are not fans of navigating huge crowds and didn't like that so much. We felt it was not worth the $56pp we paid. We could have done all the rides with little wait by doing EMH.

We've gone for the past 5 years - our entire party is adults and we absolutely LOVE it! It's so much fun to dress up, see the parade, and the fireworks. The candy doesn't hurt either.

It's for sure a fun event for adults as well as kids!

You should go. And wether or not you dress up is up to you. We have gone several times and definitely see groups that are just adults . The lines are shorter so I think just that makes it worth it. But there is also the candy , special fireworks and parade and many other little special things. If you want to watch the parade , I suggest riding rides during first one and watching the second. Many people leave after 1st parade . Enjoy !

DH and I went last September for the first time. We made some matching Tshirts to wear since he didn't want to wear a costume. We had a great time and I would recommend doing it at least once. The parade and fireworks alone were worth it in my opinion. There are so many characters out and the ride lines are short. The atmosphere is fun and we really enjoyed people watching as so many wear costumes. We did not feel uncomfortable at all without kids...there are a lot of groups that are adults only.

I personally think it is definitely worth it! We went twice this past October and loved every second of it! Even as adults we did everything- met characters, got candy, saw the parade, fireworks and castle show. If it's something you think you would like, I wouldn't hesitate to go!

If you like Halloween then you will have aq great time. I go as an adult and love it! The parade and fireworks are among the best programs they have, and they still give adults tons of candy! Dress up, have fun, enjoy the shows and short lines. Like most things Disney, it's great for all ages.

DH and I absolutely loved it. We had DD (then 7) with us, but we would absolutely go as adults only. I never thought I would say we liked it more than MVMCP as we aren't typically Halloween fans, and I'm a Christmas nut, but we did like it more. It is really fun to see what all the adult guests come up with for costumes. The parade is fantastic. The Halloween lighting and decor at MK is great. You can take magic photopass shots that have hitchhiking ghosts in them. The ghost by Haunted Mansion, Carlotta, was fun to visit. The castle villians show is great. Ride lines are short. If you are adults that like to meet some of the characters, there are several out that you can only meet at the party, like the villians who come down to meet after the villians show or Jack Skellington and Sally. We didn't really trick or treat (DD stopped a couple of times), there is just so much to do. We had so much fun, we bought tickets for a 2nd night and went twice.

For detailed reviews: check out my Sept 2012 & 2013 trip reports in my signature: both had multiple parties with just adults.

I have gone to 7 MNSSHP and none have been with kids. Is it worth the money, YES, YES AND YES!!

If you are a person who enjoys special event stuff, they've got: trick or treating, the opportunity to dress up, rare character meets (jack & sally, princes are out, tarzan & jane, jack sparrow, etc) there is a specially themed stage show, fireworks, parade and dance parties around the park. The parade & fireworks are enough to make me want to go to a million parties. They're so different, and seriously just blow my mind.

Add in the fact that this is the one time of year adults can actually dress up in the parks and I'm SOLD (it also makes for great character interactions)

If you're not into the "special" stuff, then it's a fantastic time to go on rides, they're pretty much walk ons all through the night, you could easily accomplish it all!

The parties are definitely worth it!

DH and I have been going to MNSSHP for the past 5 years and love it! The characters in their Halloween costumes are really cute, the parade is awesome and there are minimal wait times for the rides. Hallowishes is really neat too.

I have pictures in my October 2013 TR (link is in signature) if you wanted to check it out.

I would highly recommend going! You won't regret it!

As much as I enjoy watching people in costume, I decided against going. While figuring out my plans for our 8 day hoppers and 9 days at WDW, I noticed we would be in MK quite often and didn't need to purchase MNSSHP tickets for ride access (my main reason). A lot of money saved.
