MNSSHP - Did I make a mistake?!

Hi everyone! My husband and I are going to WDW from 10/26 - 10/29 and I bought tickets to MNSSHP for Friday, Oct. 27. I read on another site that I should consider avoiding this night as it is right before Halloween and Fridays are the nights WDW advertises to the local crowd. I'm getting the feeling this night may sell out and it's going to be really crowded. There is a party on Thurs. 10/26, the day we arrive. I originally avoided it because I thought we would be too tired, but now I'm thinking we should go to that one. What do you think? Should I buy tix to the Thurs. party and try to somehow get rid of my Fri. night tix?

Thanks everyone!

I been to both sold out parties, and non-sold out parties. To be honest, the difference in crowds just isn't that great. On any party date, parts of the park will be crowded and parts will be near empty. The key is to be flexible and avoid any crowds you find.

I wouldn't bother switching.

I don't believe anyone can judge the crowd level any where or time. Common sense is a better judge than past experiences. We've gone to the parks and parties when we feel we want to. Before these, so called experts came out and started selling their secrets, no one paid attention to anything but made their reservations and went to whatever they liked, now everyone swears by these guides and tries to arrange their whole trip by what they say. We just came back 2 weeks ago and have never used a guide other than Birdbaums, many years ago, just for places to go and whats all entailed in them. After 38 some visits, we've experiences all levels of crowds and experiences, we sweep it all under the rug, do Disney our way, and plan for our next trip accordingly. To me, the best guide, remember to take with a grain of salt, are these forums. Alot of info for no money, free for the taking, gleem what you want, that what you can and give your thoughts upon your return.

You might try posting your question on the Tour Guide Mike forums rather than here since your question is directly about his touring plans. :thumbsup2

We went on the 28th last year Friday I think and it was not that bad at all .We did the rides during the first parade then most of our T & T and rides again after the second parade. We went about 20 mins before the parade and got on the curb at the circle with no problem.

Going the 30th this year and hope most will wait until the 31st but not really a big deal . Holloween is our favorite holiday and being at WDW is just the icing on the cake . When DD gets a bit older we will try US HHN's but thats a few years away.

Two years ago we went on Halloween and it was sold out. Fantasyland was crowded early, but we walked on rides in the rest of the park. It was my parents first time at DW and we warned them it would not be like that when we came back. We had a ball and it was well worth it!

Thanks everyone! I think we'll just keep the tix as they are! I really appreciate the advice.

I went to MVMCP on a sold out night and while it was crowded, it didn't really detract from our enjoyment. We got a nice spot for the parade, had a nice dinner at Liberty Tree, got cocoa and cookies - did all the stuff that makes the party so special and truly enjoyed it.

I dont know if you realize this or not....but TGM asks that we NOT share his info on other boards - that was part of the agreement when you sign up for his services! You might want to consider removing your post.

Okay, the OP was asking whether or not she should do this. If she were making full schedules openly free to the public, then I would completely agree. However, the OP is unsure of what to do at this point and obviously frustrated and perplexed. If TGM made an issue of this, it would put a bad taste in my mouth and probably other potential customers as well.

Just my two cents.

I would say Marthasor was not violating TGM's ToA at all, JMO.

I think even if it's more crowded on the Friday, you need to do what suits your own family. How long is your flight/drive to Orlando? How tired are you likely to be on 26th? I think I'd rather deal with heavier crowds (on 27th) while I have more energy  :Pinkbounc :woohoo: than lighter crowds but a very tired, sleepy family

Good luck! With a good plan (which I need to starting thinking about myself for 31st!!) I'm sure you'll have a terrific time.

I agree. This is no biggie.

Although it may not be a biggie, TGM asks not to specifically tell any touring plans. The OP said TGM says not to go this date. Why pay for the service and then come to the dis and ask advise about his touring when most here don't use it? :confused3

There has to be a limit. Many, many people post on both the DIS and TGM - it is completely unrealistic and ridiculous for Tour Guide Mike to expect his members who are Disney lovers to never discuss a single aspect of their vacation on the DIS, a place that's important and fun for many people. TGM forums are static and small, it makes sense to me that people want feedback and advice on their plans here. I'm not saying anyone should discuss huge specifics but choosing one MNSSHP night over another is small stuff, and, more importantly, if it's enough to draw the wrath of TGM he has bigger problems he needs to deal with.

I would insert an applause icon, but I don't see one. :p

I AGREE TOTALLY!!
TGM states not to sign up if you cannot keep the info personal - BIG OR SMALL!! Where MNSSHP may seem to be a small issue to some people, discussing what he says on his site about planning for it, or any other event - is not right. A person who doesn't pay the fee would not feel the same way b/c they are getting their info for free from people who don't follow the rules on the DIS.

Bless.

You think that getting that info is truly THAT beneficial to anyone else on this thread? If you will notice, most of us were offering our advice, not asking for TGMs. Most of us have been to Disney multiple times. Many here work at Disney. Do you really think that any of us would have paid $20 + to have someone tell us that they wouldn't go to the MNSSHP on the 27th? That's ridiculous. I care to wager that TGMs boards don't have nearly as many CMs and CPs as DIS does, either. The date falls on a weekend and near Halloween. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out it's going to be more crowded than other dates.

Give the girl a break and stop playing "cop" for TGM. He can take care of himself, I'm sure. And if he has a problem with this girl asking for others experience on the night specified, then he isn't much of a business owner and certainly doesn't need to be working in a service industry.

You obviously have not been on his site. If you cared to pay the money, you would know why others do. I have been to Disney countless times and know it like the back of my hand and was astonished to see the first time how his advice worked. The point, again, is not what she asked but the fact that she is quoting from his site. Sorry, if you think that info is public knowledge, but you would be surpised how many people DON'T know these things.
