DAY 2- THURSDAY 9/30/04:

(Same cast all the way through the trip)

We were originally planned for Epcot today, but decided to push that off so we could do the F&W fest. Anyhow, AK was on our schedule. Now, we have yet to have a good day at AK. It's always way too crowded. So, it really is our least favorite park. However, we keep giving it a chance thinking we'll fall in love someday.

Anyhow, we arrived within 20 min of opening. It was already so hot-- I didn't think today was going to be any better than the last trips we've made to AK. I guess the thing about AK is even if it's empty-- it seems packed full. The ride times were reflecting an empty park. The walkways were jammed with traffic.

Anyhow, we weren't going to take any breaks or anything because they were only open until 5pm-- mission was to make it until after the parade. Maybe with a few trips around Kali River to cool down.

We never really waited for anything. We walked right onto Dinosaur and ITTBAB. We grabbed a FP for the safari on our way to conservation station. The pic in my sig is from there. Poor Rafiki nobody was even paying attention to him. When we got back from the train ride, our FP time was ready (we only had 40 min in the first place). The funny thing was the safari only had a 10 min standby wait. The day was so hot right from the get-go we didn't make a mad dash for the safari in the a.m. (we really wanted to dinosaur anyhow). Safari was okay--- we've never had that bridge rattle, and it shocked us a bit. During the day we also did FOTLK (the ampitheather was only about 50% full). Also did The wonders of flight (only about 20% full). We did lunch a flaming BBQ (very, very good and a first for us). We actually did the meal deals. Figuring we were going through water like crazy and we'd have the snack for the parade. We barely made it until the parade (which was greay as always). We were all really hot, which was making us tired and cranky. The one thing-- we never did get Kali (second trip in a row). It was broke for most of the day and by 2:30 pm they closed for good for the day. So we missed out on that.

Anyhow, DH declared he won't be back to AK. He says DS and I can go alone, he just doesn't like it. He personally feels Disney made the walkways to intimate. Mind you he was nice about it, but very firm. We'll see if he actually means it. As for myself, still haven't found the love, I really don't know how I feel about the place.

The rest of the day was just spent by the pool and we did Taco Bell offsite for dinner. We also went to DTD that evening. I couldn't believe how incredibly wall-to-wall people it was. We only looked a bit, because you really couldn't. Up to this point we hadn't really seen many people-- I was wondering where they were hiding.

Here's a pic of Devine and some from the Jammin Jungle Parade:
