MNSSHP Crowds?

We are going in Sept & plan to do MNSSHP for the first time. From the park hours, it looks like the parties will be on Sun, Tues, & Fri. We're going Sat-Sat. So my dilemma is which day to go to the party?

Last trip we spent our last night in MK and stayed for the fireworks and it was a great way to end the trip, so part of me wants to end our trip with the party, but am concerned about crowd levels. Will the Friday party be more crowded with locals?

I'm also planning to not use a park entry on our party day, and just swim or something in the morning & use the party ticket to enter MK around 4-5pm for a dinner ressie. (My kids will be 5 and 16 months, so I need to make sure they get a nap in order to make it through the party.)

Thoughts? Also which rides are usually open during the party?

Friday parties tend to see an uptick in tickets because it's a good night for locals and/or their children to attend. We usually do MNSSHP on Sunday's and while the Hub is crowded, we've always gotten a good parade spot in Frontierland.

The only attractions usually closed are JC, Tiki Room and the Liberty Square Riverboat.. unless an attraction breaks down or is undergoing a refurb.

I did a Sold Out Halloween Night MNSSHP last year and I didn't think it was bad at all. Ride lines were short. Candy and meets were long, but lightened up toward the end of the night. It was wonderful, and generally less crowded than a high-atendance night in MK.

What time is the parade/fireworks during the party?

I don't remember exactly. I think the Fireworks were 9:30 or 10, and there are two pardes, one before, and one after. Watching the second one is better because the crowds really thin out after the fireworks.

The fireworks are at 9:30 and the parade is at 8:15 and 10:30. I would check out Kenny's site for info about rides, characters, show times, etc.

I would say go with whatever night fits your schedule best! They do say Fridays can be more crowded than other nights, but like a previous poster said- even on sold out nights it will still be less crowded than a regular crowded MK night.

We went in September of 2012 and did Tuesday night and the crowds were very light. My DD was able to trick or treat and get tons of candy plus enjoy rides with very short wait times! Personally, I'd go with Tuesday vs Friday. I would imagine a Friday night would attract a lot of residents and annual pass holders since it's falling on the start of a weekend!!

I was at the party on Oct. 30, 2012, the penultimate night! I don't specifically remember if it was a sell out, but it MUST have been! There was some crowding, but the wait times for the rides were incredibly short. Most rides were pretty much a walkon. Only HM had a bit of a wait, but that's to be expected. Maybe everyone was in line for candy?

By the way, in addition to the parade and fireworks, the HM is a must that night. Great, spooky lighting effects!
