MNSSHP at Disneyland-should we go?

We have one day to spend at Disneyland in October. Should we plan on staying late for the party? What's it like?

If you only have one day, then I say go for it!

It's a fantastic party that has special fireworks, parade, and trick-or-treat trails. If you're not into the treat trails, you can go on rides which have lower wait times than during general park hours. You can dress up in a costume during the party if you want. It's really fun! The whole atmosphere is incredible with different upbeat and fun Halloween music playing throughout the park.

YES! IIRC the park closes earlier to general admission on those days so you'll really get your day's worth if you go to the party. If you only have one day I say absolutely go for it.

MNSSHP is at WDW. MHP is at DLR. Not to be nit picky, but this is an important distinction when buying tickets. People last year were turned away at the gates for having MNSSHP tickets for MHP.

MHP is a lot of fun. However, I would not buy a 1 day ticket and a MHP ticket, that's a lot of money for just one day. We've gone to MHP when we've had a 5 day PH in order to give us 6 days at the park. I'd either pick a day without MHP or go to just the party. If you only have 1 day to go to DL I would choose a non party day. Once they start letting in MHP guests the 3 hour overlap gets really busy then as everyone moves over to DCA it gets packed. We've always found the MHP crowds to be quite manageable and have managed to get in a lot of rides. If you do just MHP that will give you 8 hours in the park, 3 of them really busy but the last 5 would be great.

Unfortunately, perhaps, but I already have our one day tickets. And the day we have planned to go is the only day we can go. So just getting tickets for MHP isn't really an option, unless I can sell our one day tickets to someone, I guess.

Since you only have one day, I would either buy the ticket for the halloween party or upgrade your DL ticket to a park hopper and go to DCA when DL closes for the party. I would not get rid of the day time ticket and buy a halloween party ticket instead. It's just not enough time and the halloween event is very specific. Sure, you are going to pay a lot for one day, but you may as well make the most of it.

I think the party is great. But nit worth it to have a regular 1 day ticket, plus pay for the Halloween party as well. That is pretty pricey.

Be aware that DLR tickets are not for resale, non-refundable, and non-transferrable. Ticket re-sales are strictly against Disney policy. Your one day in DL is going to be great. Have a good time and don't worry about the party. You can always do MHP another time.

Following onto this thread as we consider MHP during a first week in Oct trip.... Does DCA get extremely crowded the nights of MHP because many people hop over there?

It does! And so does DTD. Lots of folks head there for dinner if they aren't doing a party and it gets quite packed!

Be aware that DLR tickets are not for resale, non-refundable, and non-transferrable. Ticket re-sales are strictly against Disney policy. Your one day in DL is going to be great. Have a good time and don't worry about the party. You can always do MHP another time.

I bought them online and there's no name or anything. But ok.. And, MHP won't happen another time. This is sure to be our one and only visit. But it's ok.

If it's possible for you, upgrading to a parkhopper might be the best option. Carthay Circle and Cars Land are beautiful at night and totally worth seeing.
