We are planning to be @ WDW in Oct. We are arriving 10/27 and departing 11/1. (dates non-negotiable due to school break, I teach).
How are the crowds @ MNSSHP Halloween weekend? (I expect them to be higher).
Would Sunday (the 30th) possibly be the best day to take a 9yr old? I'm thinking fri and sat nights would be the worst days to go?
What's your advice concerning crowds for these dates? Thanks!

I have been there 3 times for Halloween. I would not go on Halloween night. We have always gone to the party the night before. It was not very crowded. And all of our kids got to Dance with characters at the dance parties. Is this your first party? If it is be sure to catch the fireworks and parade.

Don't spend your time running from ride to ride. Go slow and take in all the costumes. The villians show at the castle stage is good. The best part of the party is that you never know who you will run into. Last year we had a very nice conversation with the Ugly Stepsisters. And Snow White's evil queen demanded that our Princess Riley bow before her. It was great. They seem to be drawn to the guests dressed as villians. I was Maleficent. And by all means, the adults in your party should wear costumes.

Also all of the resorts we have stayed at also have parties and activities on halloween night.

I've always heard Sunday night was the slowest for the parties. I hope that holds true if Halloween is on a Monday.

We have always gone on October 27, that date has just always worked out for us; but you may not want to plan the party for the day you arrive. I think Sunday, October 30 would be good; it will be crowded but most nights seem to have good crowds.

As another poster said, dont take your time waiting for the rides, the lines may be shorter but the rides will always be there. Check out the characters, go to the parties. Last year we spent our time waiting on lines for pictures. We got a picture with all Seven Dwarfs, it not often you get to see them all together posing for pictures.

and make sure you line up for the parade early. Some people say to wait for the second parade; but I think that one is just as crowded as the first.

Most important. Have fun!

:)We're arriving 10/27/11 also, we were planning on going on the 30th also, as the kids love trick or treating on Halloween night in the Fort. We've been a couple times on Halloween night before we had our camper. If I remember correctly it was kind of crowded Halloween night, but we still had good times.
