My DH and I bought witches costumes to wear to the party, Daughter will be a cat. However, I saw a pictures from last nights party and I did not see one adult that was dressed up?? For those that have been, do you dress up?? Do most?? Thanks!!

Some do and some don't. I think you will have a great time dressing up with your kids! Go for it! I'll be there as a Hippie.

Thanks for your response! I just wanted to make sure others do it as well :) Hippie was a great idea! I am truly excited!

We have been and LOVED MNSSHP!! And believe me, there were lots of adults dressed up too....We always dress up on Halloween with our kids. They think it is so much fun, and the event in Disney was the only time when we dressed up with them and didn't get funny looks from others! It is something that kids will remember and a chance for you to be a "kid" with your kids! So I would say let your freak flags fly and have a great time!

MNSSHP 2 yrs ago and dressed the 3 kids but not the 4 adults...and we all wished we had dressed up....soooooooooooooooo we will be there in 18 days in costume! (two parties this yr!! )pirate::hippie:princess:

Me and my DS are going as Seattle Seahawk Fans, jersy and all but the one I loved was the couple that went as Beacon and eggs!:rotfl2:

Oh we love to dress up, we did last year. And we have no kids. So much fun. Last year we dressed up in rrenaissance clothing. This year DH is going as Dr Horrible/mad scientist and i'm going as a circus ringmaster. Top hat and all. We saw lots of folks dressed up last year. When I saw Tink that day she made sure to tell everyone how she loved their clothes aka costumes.

Have a great time with it and show us pictures afterwards.

I think it just depends on the night how many people you'll find dressed up. A lot of people don't wear costumes but will wear halloween colors or "happy halloween" shirts and things of that nature. Personally I love an excuse to dress up. 2007 I was Ed McMahon (keep in mind I'm a girl) to go out and a cat at work, and 2008 I was Rosie the Riveter at work and MNSSHP and a shark attack victim to go out. This year I'll be a southern belle, with a dress so big I can barely walk through doorways, complete with giant hat, lace gloves and fan so I can smack people with it and say "darn yankee" My mom says I like to bring out my inner drag queen.

Inner drag queen! I love it. We went on halloween night and you could see grown ups everywhere dressed. I saw a family of Incredibles, 3 kids and the parents all done up. It was so cute.

Last week, while waiting at the bus stop at CSR, there was an all adult family dressed up. The parents were Mr & Mrs Potato Head, the kids & their spouses (all in their mid-late 20's I would guess) were Toy Story characters (Woody, Bo-Peep, Barbie, etc.). They were adorable!:goodvibes

My dh and I are going this year and we are dressing up as Snow White and her Prince.

My DH will be wearing a tuxedo shirt and top hat. I bought halloween pj pants and t-shirt at Old Navy...also a witch hat.

Ok, now don't laugh- 2 yrs ago WE all dressed up, Me,DH, DD, DS--I was Wendy, DH was Hook, DD was Tinker Bell and DS was Peter Pan-- it was cute and I didn't care about other people dressing up, I did for my kids and the memories!! It was like 92 degrees that day @ 3pm when we went down to get our bus that was over an hour late--DH wasn't a happy camper to be so hot and in such hot clothes--we did later in the night -but it was much later.

We have been to MNSSHP twice and both times I wished we had brought costumes. We opted not to since we were doing land/sea vacations and already had so much packed. I have seen some really awesome costumes.

Our first year we didn't go to MNSSHP and when we were being pushed out of the park and watching everyone dressed up go in I wanted to get a costume and go! SO last week when we went I made sure we had tickets and costumes. While I was packing and planning I kept thinking, 'ohh it would be so easy to just skip the costumes,' but I just kept thinking of how bad I wanted to be dressed up last year.

At 5 feet, I went as Reme the rat, and my DH at 6 feet, went as Linguine Alfredo, the chef from Ratatouille! We had a blast and our costumes were light and east to pack. We saw quite a few adults dressed up, but many in just Halloween colors ect. Personally, I think it wouldn't have been as much fun not dressed up :) I felt like a kid again, oh, and we trick or treated our butts off!

SO, DRESS UP, HAVE FUN, AND POST PICS! :) YOU WONT REGRET IT!

I loved reading about the costumes!! Everyone is so right and we are going to dress up, enjoy the special moments, and make sure our child has the most awesome time! She is truly excited, she is telling everyone. Just the other day she told her softball coach that her mom is a witch (I then felt the need to explain what she meant..lol). Thanks to all for making me realize I don't want to miss this!

we've been the last 2 years (adults only) and have dressed up both times. the first year DH was pan and i was tink. this year we dressed as the castaways from gilligan's island. i'm not really a dress up kind of person, but i honestly think reactions from other park goers and CM's was what made MNSSHP so much fun! like when we got on Splash Mountain and people were "afraid" to get on the boat with us because they thought they would end up lagooned, or when one of the guys in the Main Street Quartet called to me and said "Maryann, you were always my favorite!" although it was a touch depressing how many people did not "get" our castaways costumes--just another reminder that we are getting old when all of the kids, teenagers and young adults in the park had no idea who we were supposed to be :rotfl:

You must be going the same time as me! I am going 10/26 and leaving 11/6. I have tickets for 10/27 and thinking about booking them for 11/1 also! Which mnsshp are you hitting?

Also, my mom and I were going to dress up as the bacon and eggs:rotfl: Instead, she is wearing the baby pajama costume with the bonnet and pacifier and I am going as a sparkling spiderella. Not sure if I really like the costume but atleast we will dress up! lol

I'm glad I found this thread. I read in the description of the MNSSHP it says 12 and under can dress up in costumes so I wondered about adults.
