MME or renting @ MCO ?

O.K. we are leaving in 6 days and I am still on the fence about where we should rent. We are arriving on a Sat at 11 am and departing on a Sun at about 8 am. Because of our return flight time we cant use RAC.

With all that said should I rent at MCO for the entire trip or rent offsite and return the car a day early and use MME both ways. The price of the rental for a minivan is basically the same for both scenarios, I just need help making the decision.

You have a third option, take ME back to the airport with your bags.

Just because RAC isn't open early enough for you to check your bags at the hotel (actually, don't they open at 5:00?), that doesn't mean you can't use ME to get to the airport. The driver will put your bags underneath and you just check them at the airport.

They do, but check in must be completed no later than 3 hours before your flight, so you can't use it if your flight is before 8:30ish.

I am perfectly happy to rely on Disney transportation, so I may be missing something, but it seems like it would be simpler to just rent and return at the airport.

You could also send the rest of your family on DME while you take care of the renting and returning.

Since there is no cost difference, go with the convenience of picking up and dropping off at the airport. You'll save a little time by going with your own schedule. ME will make you leave on departure day a little earlier than necessary and may take much longer getting you from the airport to the hotel when you arrive.

You'll waste more time by taking the extra trip to pick up or drop off the van off site instead of doing this while you are basically at the rental car location when you are at the airport.
