MM Warriors - Three Steps to Good Health (As of 11/18)

I just had a vision of us all laughing together in Robin's kitchen like the Big Chill! Wouldn't that be a blast??!! Kate, you can pour the wine and set the table.;)

Was someone here looking for a Tom Tom deal on black friday? Walmart just posted their ad. They have 2 on sale that morning. 1 is $59 and 1 is $89.
walmart.com and put in your zip code for your local ad. I believe the online sale begins at midnight central time. Just double check to make sure before ordering online ;)

That would be so much fun!! Lisa, your in charge of making some good food for us to munch on!! I'll bring fuzzy warm cozy socks!!!

Kohl's online has those Lee jeans and pants on sale. I ordered the same as the trouser jeans in a black with white pinstripes to wear out with clients. Can't wait! They are called Jessica in case anyone wants to look at them. They are so comfortable and the fit is great.

Thanks Lisa!! I am going to check those out for sure!! How does the waist fit on you? I like the mid rise ones the most. Hate ones above my belly button LOL.

Go on lee.com first since they probably give more information, pick out your style, then go to Kohls. The dressier ones come about to the belly button. Not so high to be obnoxious, but they don't show the 'moon and stars' if you bend over, lol! That's what Tom called it when I was wearing my baggy butt pants to work in the yard, LOL! Thankfully, we were out back! They kept sliding down; it was really funny.

Thanks. I just don't like the way "taller" ones feel.
Oh, and congrats on the baggy jammies!! But sorry about the water leak. Hope Tom can get it under control, if he hasn't already.

I just read an article about a woman who lost her disability benefits after posting pictures of herself on vacation on FB. They said it proved she could work. Her doctor had recommended she go on vacation. Wow, something to think about if anyone has any claims pending.

Would anyone like a recipe for cream cheese 'croutons'? Sunset magazine. You cube up 8 oz. cream cheese. Chop 1/2 cup sliced almonds. Coat cream cheese cubes with almonds and refrig til ready to serve salad. Either bake cubes on rack in cookie sheet for 5 min on 350 or 3 min. in pan spayed with non-stick til golden serve on salad with pomegranate seeds and balsamic vinegrette. Yum! I'm doing this and adding pecans.

Lisa - heading to Kohls.com to check out those jeans, I want some!! I would so LOVE to have us all chatting around my kitchen table! Or better yet, sitting out on my 50' long front porch looking out at the mountain view and the ponies grazing in the pasture....awwwww come on you guys, get packing!!

My husband loves nothing more than a big porch! Our front porch is tiny. We do love our arbor out back, but he'd like a big southern-style porch. I see us making food and doing the bump in the kitchen somehow, LOL! Just a wild and laughing time. Lees.com has maybe more information and sizes available, but kohls has a sale going on. Happy shopping!

Good Afternoon Hawaii time. It's too early for the Morning Ramble as most of you are probably still up!!

Lisa and Nell – thanks for the compliments. I do so enjoy typing away and trying to find info that will interest you.

Barb – if you have the Carbquick I would use it. I can’t find it here, but have a couple of recipe to make it from scratch. They don’t seem to be on the computer at the moment. Does it have shortening in it like Bisquick? The one I found the other day calls for lard so it was the closest to baking mix I have found.

Oh Lucky Lisa – you can go to Trader Joe’s!! Do you know they carry almond meal. Bob and I found it in Sacramento earlier this year and brought some home. Much cheaper than Bob’s Red Mill – although it has not been blanched, but still works for some things. It took a bit of hunting and asking to find it.

Sorry about the leak. They always seem to come at the worst time!!

Pam - sounds as if you are nice and busy and doing well. That is great.

Robin – I’m into larger boats these days!! Had my fill of sailing, but whatever gets me there! I’m sitting here laughing and Bob is wondering what is so funny.

Kathy – so glad the school episode, or tragedy is a better word, is over with. Let us know how the candy turns out.

The cream cheese croutons sound yummy. I’ll have to try that. Do you want me to move the recipe? I have it down to a science now!!!

Hi Kate - do you get to take Friday off? I'm sure that is not a good day for hubby, though.

Love to ALL:love:

What a big can of worms the internet is. It blurs the line between private and public communication. A taped private conversation with friends would not be permissible. Yet a written communication between friends becomes legal fodder. Makes you wonder. :confused3

Jocelyn: I would love it if you would move the crouton recipe! Can't wait to try it. It would be pretty for Christmas, too with the red and white in the salad. They added apples sliced thinly. I might sneak in a few pear slices for Thanksgiving.

I still have a leak as hubby is working late again so dishes are in the utility sink in the garage. Thankfully, I had Jocelyn's chili to microwave. As always, it was better the second day. Hot bath and sad doggie to fill the evening with Dancing with the Stars, I guess!

I just made some sugar free cranberry sauce that turned out yummy! Here is the recipe:

1 12oz pkg fresh cranberries washed
2/3 c water
1 tsp grated orange peel
5 whole cloves
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon

Bring to a boil all of the above and simmer for 15-20 mins until all berries pop and the liquid is reduced to thick syrup. Remove from heat and add:

1/2 - 1 cup splenda
1 tsp vanilla extract

Add splenda to taste. Cool and refrigerate.

One person said that they used this as an appetizer by pouring it over a block of cream cheese. I'm sure they dipped things into it that we can't have like crackers or bread. It sounded very tasty, though.

Since this is a seasonal recipe I wasn't sure about adding it to the recipe thread. What do you think, Jocelyn?

I make cranberry sauce ALL the time. I don't add the extra ingredients, but think I will next tme I make it. I keep the berries frozen in my freezer. My favorite low carb meal is a slice of turkey, slice of Jarlsberg Swiss cheese and a dab of cranberry sauce. I lost a lot of weight having this for my snack, meal, whatever time of day it was. There are very few carbs in cranberries - sort of like the pumpkin question?!?!

I have also seen where you can use Da Vinci Raspberry syrup and or flat Diet Rite Raspberry soda. Haven't tried it, but it would cut the carbs to even less.

I'll move the recipe just because we all like to celebrate all the time!!:):)

Speaking of food - I understand Da Vinci Egg Nog syrup on ricotta cheese is to die for. It is probably a good thing I don't live on the mainland or I would need a cabinet for just the syrups. I had a friend who bought wine racks to store all her syrups during the initial low carb craze. I'm sure she still has them as she runs a small web site for low carb - TLC for Truly Low Carb.

Thanks, Jocelyn for moving the cranberry sauce recipe.

What do they do with the raspberry syrup and diet rite raspberry soda? Do they add it to the cranberries?

How much sweetener do you add to your cranberry sauce? I'm never sure as the splenda seems to change taste so much after a few days.
