MM Warriors Part Deux (As of October 27)

Good morning everyone! I finally slept in, well at least an hour LOL. I slept like a rock last night. Feeling great this morning. Yesterday's feast didn't do too much damage to me. I did forget after my lunch (I did have a tiny bit of bread with the soup too, sorry) I had peanut butter cups. I feel as though I let you all down. But I have no craving what so ever now for bread, peanut butter cups, none of that. And it wasn't even the chocolate I was craving. It's so weird. It's the texture. I need to find legal stuff that will replace things like that. I did weigh myself wondering how bad the damage was. I lost 2#. Now if that doesn't prove how screwed up our Met B bodies are, nothing will LOL. But I ate a ton of salad and just a serving of the soup. I made sure to limit myself.
Thanks Lisa for the congrats. I was so happy when I tried it on and it fit! I absolutely fell in love with this shirt.
I tried on size 14 dress pants, and they fit ok. They did pull a bit across my bottom "belly." Need to figure out how to get rid of that. Even when I worked at Lowes and was in a size 6/8 (love to get skinny like that again) I had the little pouch.
Robin, I do believe I'll be making some wedding soup of my own. I will omit the pasta though. It was really good! I did try my friends red pepper soup, but didn't care for it. I may substitute some spaghetti squash in place of the pasta. Would that work?
I went to TJ Maxx and they had Monin white chocolate syrup (sugar free). Of course I scarfed the only bottle they had LOL. I went to put it in my capachinno, and it has 4 net carbs per 1 ounce. So, I am using it as a 5x5 this morning, then I will just use my vanilla with the caramel instead.
Robin, don't forget to get a Sunday paper for coupons. It will help you save even more when the stuff goes on sale! And check out that website!
Who had a friend who was quitting smoking? Sorry, can't remember. Just wondering if they had or how they are doing with it.
Ok, going to take Tyson for a walk in a bit. Want to enjoy today as much as I can since it's so nice out!!
Have a great day everyone! Catch up later:grouphug:

Well I'm up too Kathy!! So much for sleeping in! Its so foggy right now I cant even see the ponies from the house, but it promises to be gorgeous out today, so I want to enjoy the sunshine instead of sleeping the day away!

Nell - I love coffee brandy too...lets put Jocelyn on the trail for a low carb version!! I'll be clogging up the aisles at the store today reading labels...I think they are getting used to me doing that now...the shelf stockers say hi and just roll their eyes at me! My daughter says they have an entire aisle in her Super Stop and Shop up north now that is dedicated to low fat, low sugar and low carb stuff so I cannot WAIT to get to that! She laughs, since she knows I will be there awhile! She says they have far more stuff than even Trader Joes and the store is less than a mile from her home...even better! I told her I would probably end up needing to rent a trailer to pull behind the rental car on the way home to Virginia!

Kathy - well heres a big ZAP for the bread and peanut butter cups...did you ever try the mock peanut butter cookie thing that KW used to make? It was on the LCF recipe thread we used to have...I think she did it with PB, low carb wrap etc...she swore it tasted like pb cookies...maybe you could try that and add some dark chocolate somehow? Dont know if it would satisfy that texture thing you wanted though. Thats so great that you got that shirt...and in a size medium! OMG, I think I saw my last medium back in college! I have a hard time with most tops due to my big upper arms. Even when I am "small", I have so much bicep and tricep muscle from all the weight lifting, that I dont think I will ever see a size medium again! But I do believe I will be able to see a large someday in my future and that would be just fine with me! All of my XXL sweaters seem to be huge on me lately, so I have picked up a couple XL from Goodwill to tide me over until my massive weight and inch loss finally kicks in! :rotfl: I am certainly not holding my breath on that! I do think that the 5 days of huge and total bloat have finally passed though...actually felt smaller again yesterday and today...funny that the bloat seemed too come on the second week of step 2 instead of the first though. Even Diane couldnt figure that one out. I still have the definite tube under my bra line, but at least it doesnt seem like it is as HUGE as it felt a few days ago.

Off to Church, the store and the gym...then home to cook the day away! Luckily I can get outside for some sunshine in between! Have a great day all!

We still have to make a date for that bread pudding in Portland when we are skinny. And only after we hike the forest.

Bread pudding. Yummy. I think that I shared with you that my 21 yr old DD works at a donut place in San Francisco? It is called Dynamo Donuts and they have about twelve different flavors on any given day. Some examples are apple/maple/bacon, vanilla, CandiedOrange, CornmealCherryRosemary, ChocSpice, ChocRose, ChocAlmondRosemary, Pumpkin, Saffron, LemonHuckleberry (I copied these from the website). Anyway, sometimes they have leftover donuts and they make bread pudding with them! Demi (my daughter) is going to make bread pudding for Thanksgiving with the pumpkin donuts. My dad is going to be in heaven because he LOVES bread pudding. Me, I am just going to have to wait for bread pudding with Lisa!

Hi Lisa - We finally agree on yukky foods!! OMG, I DETEST beets, liver and oysters too! DOUBLE YUK...but I am ALL OVER that bread pudding....cant wait for that day, it will be so much fun! Is Kate coming with us too? Too funny about your Dad...if mine was still alive he would live on pickled pigs feet, anchovies and ice cream!

Oh, Yeah! I am there! No bread pudding reunions without me! ROBIN - I DON"T KNOW WHAT TO SAY ABOUT PICKLED PIGS FEET!!!! OMG! You must be paying us back for all of our efforts to gross you out. It worked! :scared1: Where is that gag smiley when you need it?

Hi, Kathy! Congrats on the new purse. I think I might go to Marshalls AND Ross today. Just for fun. I don't need anything but poor Brad is working (again). He hasn't had a day off in about six weeks. I feel bad for him... Give Tyson a rub on the head for me! I hope you and Mike have a good day.

Well I'm up too Kathy!! So much for sleeping in! Its so foggy right now I cant even see the ponies from the house, but it promises to be gorgeous out today, so I want to enjoy the sunshine instead of sleeping the day away!

Enjoy your day off, Robin! I am glad that you realize that you ARE shrinking! It will be interesting to see how this GFW goes for you! Not that I am hoping that you are gluten sensitive but if you are, at least you will know what the problem is!

Jocelyn: Yes, we went thru San Andreas. Don’t get me started on that by-pass! The first time I didn’t know to turn to go to Amador City and Sutter Creek I thought I had been picked up by aliens and deposited in Jackson! They made the transition into the new road so seemless and made a turn where there used to just be a bend in the road. I was so worried it would kill my favorite little towns, but they seem to be doing ok. I always go that way because my favorite home shop in is Amador City. Used to be in the old hotel and now it’s across the street.

Robin: You will probably need some help learning what has gluten in it. A health food store, a book or online. For instance, it’s in a lot of dressings. Gluten is in vinegar. It’s crazy how many prepared foods have it. I learned this from my friend who is so allergic.

My plate on Thanksgiving will look pretty much like yours! I’ll have a salad with pomegranate seeds, walnuts and feta cheese too! I have to find a substitute for my favorite gourmet raspberry walnut dressing.

I really want to try sweet potato pie.

Kathy: Diane says we can have planned cheats. Just make sure you stay on your 11-20 schedule the whole rest of that same day and do all the cheating within a 5-hr period. Now, don’t eat everything you can in 5 hours, LOL! :rotfl:My doctor used to say it takes a week for what you ate this week to show up on the scale.

Kate: I have to say, I have never looked that closely at an anchovy! Weird! I do like anchovy paste though. Oh, Kate, pumpkin donuts from Apple Hill are a weakness so I would die at your daughter’s work! That bread pudding will be so good! At Christmas, I am trying a new approach to the meal. I usually make everything with my Mom helping some. This year I am making the main dish and asking everyone, including all of the kids (who are all actually young adults) and my Dad to bring a dish! I think it’s good for the kids to learn to cook and pitch in when they are asked to someone’s house and it will be fun to see how it all turns out. Dad’s bringing some kind of appetizer – I just hope it’s not sardines, LOL!
:lmao::lmao::lmao:

Hi Kate - snuck back in to check in quick before heading out to shop! yeah, the pigs feet were so totally disgusting...sometimes I thought he just did it to gross us out! I hope Im not gluten sensitive either, but I would give up just about ANYTHING at this point to get rid of this gut!

Sorry Brad is stuck working again...hope he at least gets some holiday time off. Ken is stuck out on the rig in the middle of nowhere so he is sulking big time.

Cant wait for our bread pudding trip...seriously, I am hoping to be able to snag one of the office switch deals so I can come to Portland...hopefully in the spring! Cant wait to share a BIG CHEAT with you and Lisa!! That pumpkin bread pudding would send my daughter into a swoon....

What the heck is the deal with the hairs on the anchovies? Since when are fish hairy!!

Robi: My son wants to buy a house by March so I should be up there a lot helping him get settled again. Pam, I will be so tempted to paint the whole thing, I just know it!

Last night we tried the Greek style yogurt from Trader Joe's with some of the 6 carb Smuckers stirred in for our snack. It was amazing! I'm surprised I never had tried this yogurt before. I think it was Abby and Kate that mentioned it. It has so much body and creaminess. It will be a staple for me from now on. I need gentle food like that if I get one of my headaches, which are much coming much less often these days...

Morning Lisa! Dont those pumpkin donuts sound absolutely heavenly? I honestly think I would be able to resist one now though...WEIRD...I have done a bit of gluten research, but decided not to do the Pony thing and jump in with both feet flying until I decide if thats a problem for me...just going to go with Diane's orders to eat only brown rice, beans, fruit, milk, yogurt and sweet potatoes this week and see if anything feels drastically different...I do feel smaller the past couple days, so unless I see and feel anything fairly drastic, I will just chock the whole thing up to the MM curlique of up and down...maybe my roll is going to just be the last thing to go! My mom just laughs at me...she reminded me this morning that I have never been one to be normal or average in ANYTHING...everything I have or get or do always seems to be the exception to any rule!! Haha, I guess thats why I am so weird!! My type A, Virgo tendencies just drive me to investigate and obsess over who, what, why , when , where and how...so I just need to take that deep breath sometimes and have patience and let things play out...GEEZ, I am so BAD at that! Thank goodness I have you guys to grab the kite strings and bring me back down when I take off !!

Now I really am going to go...making some of Jocelyn's EASY Baileys for my decaf then off to read labels and scout for bargains!!:coffee::drive::sunny:

Back from our walk. It is such a beautiful morning out. It was almost 50* when we left. Sun shining all over the place.

Lisa, I am only on step 1 yet. Just hoping I didn't screw up my L & P too much. I think I may be getting a little tired of step 1. Need to think this one through.

Robin, congrats on the XL. I hope your stubborn belly starts to deflate for you. Could it possibly be the beans? I know they will cause bloating and gas in some people? Just an idea.

Kate, great to "see" you this morning. Those donuts sound great! I am staying far away from cake and donuts. I know if I start to eat those, there would be no turning back. Chocolate cake, white icing and coconut sprinkled on top. YUMMY!!
Anchovies, are the worst thing ever. Did you know they spark in the microwave when you heat them up? Makes you wonder what they are made of!!
Ok, going to read some of my From Fatigued book. Later everyone.

Kathy: I won't even ask why you are microwaving those sparking anchovies!:lmao:You'd better burn a candle for a long time if you do that again!

This one restaurant I used to work at, if people wanted them on a hoagie, we would micro them first. Don't remember why we did it that way LOL.
Stink doesn't begin to describe it.
My dad loves oyster stew. I like the smell of it, but that's about it.

One night when I was studying for finals during my first year of law school and was oh, sooooo stressed out, my ex-husband went to pick up a pizza for us. When he got back he proudly told me that he remembered to tell them to put the anchovies on only half of the pizza. I took one bite from my half and spit it out immediately. The oil from the anchovies had traveled to my half! I remember crying and crying about the whole debacle! Needless to say, he always ordered them on the side after that!

It is my FAVORITE yogurt! I miss Abby!

I actually love seafood, but won't touch sardines or anchovies. Just never appealed to me. I would be so ticked off if my 1/2 tasted like that!! Hard lesson learnt LOL

Tom bought it so I need to compare prices and see if it's expensive and if it comes in larger containers than 2 cups that might cost less, if so. I am so grateful to you for telling me about it! Next, I am going to try it with the sf pumpkin syrup and cinnamon.
