MM Warriors Part Deux (As of October 27)

Hi,

I finally got caught up on the last 3 days posts. Glad to see some missing faces back.

I'm fine - played bridge the past several says so that takes up my free time. Should have more time later in the week.

The late night teaser was about a storm coming through. If that is the case, California will have some rain from the Pineapple Express as is makes its way across the Pacific.

The black bean soup could be made with regular black beans or the black soy beans - depending on what step you are on.

Have a great MM day:banana:

Hi Seabreeze! How is the weather in Hawaii? A friend of mine just came back from there and brought me Macadamia Coffee, OH YUM!

Hey Laura - I am here...my neighbors across the street had 25 cows out in the road....and of course they are not around to put them back as they dont live on the property! so my neighbor next door and I have been out in the rain trying to herd up a bunch of cows who want to hang out on OUR property instead of theirs!! I am so ticked off....we finally called the animal control guy to get down here and help us!! I have to go shower and get to work, so will be checking in later....do you think I can get that tea online somewhere? It sounds better than the YUK green tea I have...

Nell: How neat you got to eat a fresh-picked orange! That’s the benefit of Florida!:cool1:

Robin: White tea is a delicacy. Try pear white tea. You shouldn’t have to choke it down; it’s amazing. If some of us hated water or exercise, you’d be on our tails, so buck up and drink it because it’s a rule and I am now the tea police! No more complaining, as we have new family members of the tribe coming in soon and we don't want them to miss doing one of Diane's rules because we prejudice them. Say your yuckies 10 times to yourself and get it all out now, lol! JMHO:laughing:

Alright Lisa...so now where am I supposed to get these wonderful YUMMY teas from?!! We have very limited selection at the grocery store or Walmart here....I could put it on my list for my trip to Connecticut...then I get to go another whole month and a half without drinking it!

Where is Everyone today? Storms keeping y'all inside? It is absolutely AWFUL out here today...I could quite easily have crawled back into bed for the day!

Good Morning Ladies!

I got home last night and my new cookbook came, George Stella's Good Carb Family Cookbook. I LOVE low carb cookbooks. I pored over it last night and then crashed early. Why is it we need to get more rest after a vacation? I have a couple of recipes from the book that I'm anxious to try today since I'm off for Veterans Day. One is Cinnamon Crisps made with almond flour. All the ingredients are step1 legal. Did we ever decide if almond flour would be considered free? They are similar to what a graham cracker is and a serving is 3 crackers, net carbs 2. That's less than a serving of almonds so I'm thinking free  The other recipe I'm trying today is pan fried cheese pizza :lovestruc A little high fat, but would be nice to have as a free snack or lunch once in awhile. I'll post the recipes if they turn out well. The only thing I don't like about some of Stella's recipes is he uses soy flour which I'm not crazy about. I may try substituting almond flour or coconut flour in the one's that sound good.
Hope everyone is feeling good and having a great day. I'll check back in later.

Bright and sunny this moring, Laura. The weather people were talking about a storm, but no evidence of any rain yet. The weather reports are "so boring" - sun and more sun, that they try to get people interested in watching!!! I look out my window in the morning and decide what the day will be like!

Macadamia nut coffee is yummy - especially chocolate macadamia nut coffee!!!:)

I caught up with the posts quite fast this AM.

Hope those of you in the wake of Ida are not getting completely washed away.

Robin - can't imagine herding cows!!!! Really not fun in the rain - I HATE to be cold and wet!

Nell - we had a huge orange tree in our yard in California - nothing like fresh off the tree!!

Hope everyone has a great day and will "see" you all later.

Lipton makes a simple white tea, should be right next to the green. You can start out with that one! :rotfl:

Hi Barb! Yep, vacations definitely wear you out! Seems kind of ironic, doesn't it. They should call them adventures rather than vacations! With the almond and also coconut flour, a light topping would be free, in bulk for cooking has to be counted. I think the benefit of using it is that it comes out so much lower in carbs that we can fit it in. I still want to try the coconut flour muffins recipe that Diane gave us.

Jocelyn, that's how the weather was in Puerto Rico. They tried to look for things to get excited about because every day was the same. I'm glad that you like it. I was miserable without seasons!

Laura, your tea sounds wonderful. I couldn't find my red Rooibos tea here for less than seven dollars a small box, so I ordered it from vitacost. It came and it's a mix of herbs and I actually like it! Usually I don't like the herb mixed tea. I like peppermint or ginger, but I like it plain.

Hey Lisa, you up yet? Opps, just saw you answered Robin this morning. So whatcha doin?

Pony, enjoy your rainy weather! Make a hot drink and curl up with your dog and a book!

I got some nice photos of Buddaka. I'll post it on Facebook later. I am attempting again to go to the meditation tonight. Last week I didn't make it. I'm really nervous about going somewhere that I don't know the people. I know the person I'm going with, but not that well. I never will get to know people though if I don't get brave and step out. They hold this meditation weekly for a small donation, and I know it will be good for me. It's just doing it. What do I wear anyway?

Well, I've got a chicken to cook! Yay! I'm in the mood for a baked chicken. The low is supposed to be 60 tonight, so it shouldn't heat the house too bad. It will be nice to be able to shut down the air and open this windows too!

Good afternoon everyone!
I just got to catch up on all the posts, was up and down all night with my Daughter, she is running a fever, so she isn't feeling well  ... seems to be getting some better today. She doesn't complain much but she looks sick, she is my little princess: My son just got over the flu too so been little crazy here ;).

Nell: You can lead a "Pony" to tea but can't make her drink!!:lmao::lmao::laughing: that is what I was thinking when I read that post by Barb!! I would love to have fresh oranges that is so neat!

Pony: I am having trouble finding tea that I like too, I like regular tea, but the green I have seen has a weird taste to it.:)

Barb: I think you are the one that was talking about vacation, I alway have to recooperate from one! Seems really odd, having to rest up from a vacation doesn't it!

Well, not much to say on anything else :rolleyes1 I will just have to go and read more posts later! But I do hope all is well with everyone!

On the shoe inserts, I know that my father uses them in his work shoes and says that it does wonders for him... not sure what the condition is as to why he uses them just know that he has lots of problems with his feet hurting!

Rainy here and cool in WV! But not chasing any cows!! Poor Pony:upsidedow

Can someone explain how the face book works do I need to sign up on that to see the pictures you all are talking about? If so how do I find you all on there?

Oh and another question, since we are allowed the wheat flour, could we make gravy out of butter and wheat flour, and turkey drippings and be legal? So to speak I know it would be high in fat but could it count as our 11-20 for that Thanksgiving dinner? Trying to stay on program if I possibly can even if the fat content is a little high!

Ok, now I KNOW I can't have splenda--made a bread pudding the other day and it had alot of splenda in it and I got a wicked headache the rest of the day--not good!

Nell--have you ever gone to Maggiano's restaurant in Tampa? we went and the food was yummy!! Wish I had more time to shop at the Beall's outlet over there!

Was up 2 pounds since Florida which is a bummer. Worked out 1 1/2 hours yesterday! Ellipical with a friend for an hour and walked my dog for 1/2 hour. Its rainy today but want to get her out for another walk! Workouts are so much easier when you chat with a friend!

have a great day everyone!!:lovestruc

Melanie, I hope your little princess feels better soon!

Go to facebook and sign up for an account. Then we will all "become friends." with you on facebook and we can exchange photos when we want to.

Does anyone else hide all of the games on facebook? I hide all of the daily this and that's quizzes and farms, lol. I just want to hear what people are saying. I wonder if this makes me a party pooper. :)

Natalie, I've only lived here since April and I'm actually not going to Tampa for the first time until the 16th. If I knew you were that close I would have invited you for coffee, I mean decaf!

Robin,
I was looking on the Celestial Seasonings website and they offer a wide variety of green teas. There are a lot of different kinds with fruit added and other herbs too. Their shipping cost don't look too good but you might be able to see a variety you would like to try and get a local store to order it. I drink their Roastaroma with 1 TB cocoa added, some splenda and cream. It's what I fix when I'm craving a dessert.

I have been swimming the past few weeks but am starting to get itchy again and don't know if it's my chlorine allergy or poison oak from the dogs. I sure am hoping it's poison oak because I feel so good when I swim.

I was told yesterday that I look like I've lost a considerable amount of weight. I have a neck again! I'm kind of afraid to weigh since last time I did I was very disappointed with the figure. I remember Diane saying to weigh at 8 wk intervals. I think that is coming up at the end of this month. I'm nervous about it.

Feast upon the Words of Christ

Hi, guys! Wednesday is one of my big work days and I have an early meeting. Sometimes I have my coffee in here and say Hi before I go to work, but couldn't get in here today. Might have had something to do with that giant martini. I had a huge olive craving, lol! BTW, Kalamata olives are soaked in red wine vinegar, so they have a completely different taste. Don't try it if you don't want to, though.

It's overcast today so kinda funky. I'll probably walk Bonnie later. I'm thinking of a tuna melt on a sandwich thin today. Nell's got me craving tuna and something warm sounds great.

We met with an attorney yesterday about my MIL's house issue. Two have now said we are not liable and there's nothing we could have done, but it's really stressful. I ate 6 tortilla chips last night. It's all I could fit into my carbs, but I could so easily have torn into that bag. Glad to have resisted under stress.

I got two little corduroy blazers at Ross size L and they button. My leather jacket is a M - that's a pretty steep goal for New Years! We'll see.

I feel bad I remembered someone asked about brining their family members on here. Was it Carol or Pam? I meant to reply and then got distracted. I think that's always fine, don't you all? If we have family or good friends to invite. The only rule here is that everyone is nice! How hard is that? lol!:grouphug:

Everyone should move to CA - the land of oranges and tea -not the kind you smoke, lol!:rotfl:

Carol: How wonderful that compliment must have felt! You've worked really hard! Who cares what the scale says, anyway? People are noticing so you know it's working! We're so excited for your success.:cheer2:
