MM Warriors Part Deux (As of October 27)

Kathy, I hope it doesn't come out too bad. I would be upset too.

Yep Pony, I have the tree put together and the lights on. I am pleasantly surprised. It was a very affordable tree and it looks nice. But now my house is a disaster. I've got to go to bed soon. I need some sleep. Next feeding is at 12:30, but I can set the alarm.

Well it seems the site was down while I was at the gym, but seems to be back up now! but Im sure y'all have gone off to bed already!

Somebody fill me in on the d-ribose thing when you come back here!!

Barb says hi and she is busy this week, so we will see her again on Friday!

Have a great evening!:)

Hi,

I didn't get to sitdown until late so just read all the posts. Everyone is in bed and probalby ready for your middle of the night snack!!

Robin, your recipes sounded great for step 2. I put them in the recipe link for you.

Carol - I saw the black soy bean recipe. That looked really good. I printed it off and will try that. There are a couple of places that have an "A" before the amount. Are they just 1/3 cup or 1 and 1/3 cup? Things do not always copy the way we think they will!!

Robin, I like to add pure vanilla and a little splenda to yogurt – the Greek Fage is really good. Berries are on the low end of the carb scale. Some frozen strawberries mixed into the yogurt might be good as a way of getting fruit in. Apples are high in sugar.

I have a great book that has the carb counts of almost everything. It is THE NUTRIBASE OF COMPLETE FOOD COUNTS. It also lists the fiber content of foods. I use it all the time to figure out how much of something I can or can’t have.

Lisa and Bev - Yay on people noticing the new you's.

Nell - sorry you were not feeling great today. I'm sure your tree looks great though. Mine will not be up for quite a while yet, though.

Lisa, hope the therapist helped you.

Time for my before bed snack so will "see" you tomorrow. Hpefully I will get on sooner, but have a busy day again.

Love to ALL:love:

Easy. I got the cheap one! :lmao:
:lmao: thanks Nell. I needed that this morning!! I just wasn't sure if you knew one may be better than the others LOL.
I think I'll be following your lead. I am on my 2nd bottle (small one) and each one is running me around $25. I didn't have the money to dish out all at once for the big one. Should have just done it that way anyhow LOL. :confused3
Thanks Nell.

Good Morning Ladies - I hope everyone is having a lovely day today. Not much activity last night. Everyone must be doing fun things with their families! Always a good thing!

Well as I expected my arms are BURNING today! At least I know it's working. My husband always says Pain is weakness leaving the body. Boy, I must be REALLY WEAK!!!

Tonight is Yoga. I'm very excited about this one! I love stretching and getting myself in a meditative mind. Puts me closer to God. I don't try to "clear" my mind. I try to fill it with him. So we'll see how that goes tonight.

Hope everyone has a great MM day.

Good morning everyone. I might as well tell you all good night as well. I keep falling asleep before I get to tell you all night!!

Robin, if I understand the book right, D-Ribose is something your body makes. When you have CFS, your body either doesn't make as much or not at all. I think it has to do with the mitrocondria (sp) of your cells. It helps to "produce" energy. You need to take 5 grams 3 times a day for the first 2 or 3 weeks. He said you should notice a difference by then, and then you taper off to I think 1 teapsoon daily? Lisa may be able to explain it better. I'll see if I can google it for you.

Well, my living room looks like a nice bright sea green and blue. I'll have to take a picture of one of the wallls and post it. One good thing, I don't have "full" walls. I have the old wooden french doors on one wall that goes into the dining room, a window on another wall, the walk way into the sitting room with openings with wooden columns, and the other wall has a big 4' window. I will repaint in the next year or so. It may grow on me. Not sure. Like I said, I'm more of a "neutral" person. Not big on big bold colors. Love the Victorian colors. Burgandy, deep greens, and the such. Then your normal tans, earthy colors.

Ok, need to get breakfast (forgot to yesterday!!) and head to work. Have a great day everyone.

Good Morning!
Cindy - YogaX is tough! After the first 45 min. you will be sweating, but then the next 45 min. it gets a little easier. It's great when it's done though! :rotfl2:

Kathy - I'm glad your room turned out okay.

Beverly: :cheer2: Yay! It's great when people notice!

Robin: I copied your rundown of Step 2 you gave for Melanie into a word doc for myself. Thanks for spelling it out like that.

I'm going to the supermarket now. See you all later!
Diane

Good Morning! glad to see someone is up and about besides Kathy and I this morning! :)

Jocelyn - thanks for getting those recipes into the thread for me!! Somebody needs to try that salad and report back, Ill report on the soup on sunday! Thanks for the info on the yogurt and berries too...as long as I can use frozen berries I would be ok, as no fresh available here most of the year. I cant find that greek yogurt either, so I will check and see whats available here for plain and then "doctor it up"!! Too bad about the apples, haha, I dont really like them anyway! Darn, guess I have to give them up!

Kathy - hope your sea green/blue living room isnt too bad...maybe you could paint some fish on the walls? NEMO!!

Cindy - have fun at yoga and feel the WEAK leaving your body! I think he is right about that...after the first few days at the gym I was pretty sore, but now I just feel stronger every day and have so much energy too!

Guess I dont need the d-ribose if energy is what y'all are going for with that...doesnt seem to be a problem for me right now!

Diane - Glad the info on step 2 will help you out, its just what I have ended up with after a failed start, weekly consults with Diane by e-mail, and help from Lisa, Barb and others on step 2!! Im on day 3 now and finding it much easier this time due to that schedule.

If anybody is looking for a great CD of worship music, I live in Falwell country and the Thomas Road Baptist Church has a fantastic music worship leader, Charles Billingsley...he has a new CD out, available on amazon if you search his name or Thomas Road, and it is so GREAT! I have had it for 3 weeks now and it has not left my CD player in my car yet!! Great for meditation, or just to feel uplifted at any time!

Jocelyn - thanks for the info on the book. I just ordered one for .01 on Amazon. Even with shipping it's only $4.00 and I have an old book with carb counts, but no fiber, so it was useless for me.

Thanks for the kudos!

Nell - sounds like you are really getting in the holiday spirit. Two Christmases would be nice.:santa: I am sure your tree will look super when you are finished.

Kathy - I am sorry they messed with your walls that way. (Robin - too funny about Nemo!) Of course, if I could get someone to come paint my living room and bedroom I would be thrilled (as long as they used the colors I liked). My walls are still contractor beige and the addition was finished 12 years ago. My friend has offered to come and help while her DH is in Africa on a medical mission in January/February. So, hopefully I'll have new living room walls myself soon. I think we are going to go for a kind of medium tan in the lilving room and either light yellow or blue in the bedroom. There will be no sponging involved however. The maintenance men sponged my master bath and I think it looks horrid. Not sure how they screwed it up, but they did. It will probably get a redo when the bedroom does.

I am wearing a "new" old pair of capris today. They are still a little snug, but they actually buttoned and zipped around my belly, so that was great!

I hope everyone has a great day. I'm at the office, so I'll check in later.

Hi Robin - I love my christian music. I saw Third Day about 5 years ago they were awesome. I have Sirius Radio and that's what is basically on my radio 24/7. I'm going to have to go out and get that CD.:dance3:

Isn't it great having new old pants!!!! I'm so happy for you and your loss!!! Just think it's only getting better...:cool1:

Nell: I have noticed if I don't eat at the right times I get a little disoriented too!! I love Christmas and think that it is really neat that you get to have 2 in one year!!:thumbsup2 I must have missed something what is D-Ribose?And what is it used for?

Lisa: :woohoo: on the compliment that always makes your day! Lets you know something is going right!;)

SueAnn: Sorry to hear that you have been down with your foot, hope you will be better soon, but if you rush things could do more damage than good:hug:  I would just try to do some chair exercises the best I could while waiting.

Pony: Hope Ken gets to come home for you soon!! And thanks so much for your advice, the reason that we are starting on step 2 at the holidays is that everyone at my dinner table will be on MM step 2! With the exception of the kids.:flower3: So I think we will be ok, the candy (holiday candy) never tempts me anyway so I am good there. If I had to face a lot of things off program I might be tempted to stray off the wagon, but because of this I think we will be ok.(Hopefully) I just need to make sure we keep the times right, that may be tricky. I am going to try to copy this post and save it if I can, your advice was so plain, it will help to refer back tooit!

Beverly: That is GREAT! (on weight loss being noticed):woohoo: Makes us feel so good!

Now for a couple of questions: On step 2 can we have chilli? And can we have pinto beans w/ a 1/2 sweet pot? Or would that be too many carbs at one time?
Also, on Dianes"s recipe fore pumpkin pie she mentions 3/4 cup of light cream is this half and half, sour cream, whipping cream,?? I was confused cause I can't find light cream of any sorts around here, other than sour cream if that is what it is talking about.

Oh and what does Black beans taste like??? Anything like pintos, kidney,or what could I compair it to and where do I find these?? Dry or canned? Never tried these before so would love to have some feedback on it.

Ok, have a great MM day!! Will be checking back in from time to time today if I can, have some work to do today :laundy: Off to shine my sink!!:rotfl2:

Missed you all last night! I got a lot of extra rest after my Bowen treatment. Tom wanted me to teach him how to make spaghetti squash! He's being so sweet about helping out more.pirate:Pirates are sexy in my book!

Beverly: How nice on the compliment! I wish we could see each other sometimes. We'd notice for sure, wouldn't we?:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Kathy: Hope your room looks nice. I have to say I can’t imagine being in that situation. My lips would probably turn inside out!:confused3

Nell: I’m jealous that it’s Christmas at your house already! I have to start the very day after Thanksgiving! I hate to put it all away when it’s over. My favorite thing is my old World Santa on the stair landing. He lives in a closet the rest of the year.:santa:

Robin: D-ribose is what helps the body recover from exertion, such as when muscles are used in a workout. Normal people make enough and people with CFS and Fibro don’t. That's why we feel like we've been hit by a truck the day after a big project. If you don’t make enough, the only way to get it is to take the supplement. You, my friend, don’t need it!

Jocelyn: I think that book sounds really helpful and I will order one! Thanks!

I saw an all-time low # for MM on the scale today. For me, it works to weigh because I go up and down so much if I only weighed once a month or so and hit it on an up day, I think I would be sad. I am down 9 lbs. from a crazy up day 3 days ago. I am not a curllique, I'm a roller coaster. The big scary kind!:rotfl2:

Flaky agents drive me nuts. One called me while I was driving last night and said an offer was coing in when she got home to fax it. It's still not here. Now, I have to look every 5 minutes all day! Grrrrrr. I would never do that to someone! If I say, I'm doing something, I do it. Getting off soapbox! Hey, at least I'm thinner today, LOL!:yay:

Melanie: Don't put any Step 2 carb portion with another food item unless you are doing half and half of each. I think that would be ok, but not a half sweet pot with anything else because the half sweet pot is a full portion. I would imagine one could have 1/4 cup each of say peas and 1/4 of carrots. I've been keeping it really simple and not mixing it up too much yet. If we eat soup that is about half of what we need, we add a few crackers or a tortilla to get up to 11 - 20. Does that help?

Black beans are very similar to kidney and others except they are much smaller and very smooth on the outside. The texture is similar. They have a rich flavor. Try a can of them first maybe. Drain them well and rinse with some water. They are especially good with Mexican food and chili. Very, very good for you - tons of fiber.

Lisa - down 9 lbs. in 3 days, you are a serious roller coaster, woman.:lmao: I can be up from too much salt, etc. 2 days ago I was 17 lbs. down, today it's 15.5 lbs. I don't sweat it though.

Are you sure the agent has the right fax number? She may have faxed it somewhere else. Can you call her and find out? That would drive me nuts.

Off to make another cup of green tea. It actually tastes ok. Now I need to find a way to make the decaf into iced tea. It seems to be fairly weak, huh?

Beverly: I left her a message last night to confim my fax number. Grrrr!

Yes, I retain water, so I'm sure that's my issue, but then it all sorts itself out and I see a new number! Yippee!

When I make green tea iced tea, I like the large Bigalow tea bags. The Teas' Teas isn't weak and Target carries it out here. Don't know if it's in your area.

I'll have to check my Target. Right now I have Lipton, and even when I nuke it for 2.5 minutes with the teabag in the cup it doesn't seem very strong. I gave up diet soda a week ago, so I would like to have an alternative to hot tea and water.
