MM Warriors Part Deux (As of October 27)

Nell, don't bid until the last 5 minutes. Don't let them see you are interested.

That's what I do. I actually wait and hit the button at 30 seconds. I have down to a tee! But they've already gone ten dollars over my max bid. If it gets too hard I'll wait until next year and get one of those cheap snowmen! :)

OK, Pony is all sorted out, at least for today!! My neighbor came over and we called a plumber friend and he gave us directions to find the reset button, which, by the way is NOT in a location where any average person would find it...why would they HIDE something like that! LOL, so it came back on, and unless it goes off again for whatever reason made it go off in the FIRST place, I am back in the heat! Thanks everyone for your suggestions!!

As Im reading Nell's post about plugging in the tea kettle in the shower head Im like totally FREAKING OUT, going OMG electricity in the shower??!!!:scared1:

Bev - good job drinking the green tea, dont know how you could stand it...I HATE mine, its just downright nasty...trying to figure out how to get it down somehow...

Lisa - If I could find a way to get some veggies in my PBJ, I would be happy! LOL, maybe my wasabi horseradish!!:lmao:

Sounds like you better shave your legs, and break out the sexy negligee girl! Cooking AND Vaccuming? WOW!

Carol - no shower, but managed to watch our church service on TV thank goodness...I hate to miss church! Lucky for me I am in the heart of Falwell country so the service is broadcast at 11am every sunday.

Nell - GO GET THAT CHRISMOOSE!!! You MUST HAVE IT!!!

We have a balcony off the master that overlooks the backyard and wetlands where there is a bike trail so I got the big waving Santa to wave at everyone on the bike trial on the weekends. Loved it until the wind blew the control for his hand off down inside. We never could fix it and it was $50! I still miss that Santa!

Oh, Robin, I think you figured it out! I was tyring on clothes this morning, as I like to do on Sundays, and he asked how it was going and I said things are smaller than they were last week and he asked how an item with a bow was fitting lately! OMG! Now, he's washing both cars! I'm grateful but I'm beginning to think he was captured by aliens!:lmao::lmao::lmao:

I think it's beautiful! I'd make a little bed away from everything and let it have a corner!

Yeah, I would too. I planted some Mexican primrose where it can take off and not bother anything else. I'm also going to do some morning glories on the fence this next spring. We have kind of a wild corner where Miss B likes to run after the birds.

Daniele;Sharron I think I got it. I think it's Showy rattlebox. Check the link I sent you with pictures of the flowers before they open. It looks the same.

Thanks, Nell. You sure found that fast! I've been searching for a week. That is definitely what I've got! It is a beautiful flower, I love yellow flowers!

I have a two special beds for another exotic, invasive plant so may try to add this one to it. Several yrs ago, I noticed a beautiful plant I had never seen before growing in a trash pile near my office. DH dug several up for me. I discovered the next year that it is very prolific and the roots run underground, like bamboo. Keeps me busy confining it to the beds. You've probably seen it down there - it's called Turk's Turban or Tubeflower. I finally took a photo of it to a nursery to find out what it was. They are beautiful though. Both are proof moving something from it's natural home is not a good thing.

Yes, it sure is pretty! Studying herbs makes it easier to pinpoint what family a plant comes from so it slows down the searching time. It is an awfully pretty flower!

Pony, you don't use the shower with the kettle plugged in! :rotfl: It's just to fill the tub. I got the idea because in Puerto Rico people use electric showerheads. It's an actual water heater screwed onto the shower nozzle with a sprayer and plugged into a wall. The kettle idea really saved the day when our boiler went out.

I'm watching the Chrismoose defiantly! I'm not going to pay a silly price for it though. We'll see! :)

Hey Nell - I know, I was just horrified while I was reading your post, til I got to the part where you reminded to unplug before getting in! LOL

SharronLee - your flower is beautiful, who cares if its invasive, just corral it somewhere and enjoy!

I woke up after two days of rain to find my entire yard COVERED in mushrooms! Its so weird, I have never seen them before, and we had a ton of rain all summer with no "shrooms". OMG they are coming to get me! They must KNOW I HATE THEM!:lmao: I seriously have to take a picture of the one that sprang up in my flower bed...its the size of a paper plate!

I hope everyone has a good Sunday. I love having a day set apart for worship and rest from the worldly things. Since my oldest son is up from UCLA we will get the family together for dinner before he heads back to Los Angeles. That is my most favorite time! Listening to my kids reminisce about childhood events ( some that I didn't even know about, thank goodness! ) and hearing them laugh together is the most wonderful thing! We have also decided to do something different this year at Christmas. We are going to commit to volunteering once a month, as a family, at a homeless day center nearby. Even the son at UCLA said he would try to come up and be a part of this. I'm hoping that this will help the kids put service to others as an important part of their lives and know the joy that comes from doing it. We'll see.

Love to you too Carol! I love it when my girls are under my roof. I love that your family made a commitment to volunteer at the homeless shelter.

Did you see the wedding pictures? They are on Facebook!

I just saw them - how fun! Rebecca wore the tartan sash to the reception and they had a genuine Muskateer and it looks like a Carindal to marry them! Cool costumes!princess:

Unfortunately all those years at Lowes. But it does come in handy at times LOL. Like laying ceramic tile, hardwood floors, painting, putting in windows, doors, the list goes on and on LOL. Jack of all trades, master of none :confused3

I was motivated by the talk of home repair to install the new lights I had bought at Lowe's. They replace your can lights with more decorative lights that hang. So I turn off the breaker and start reading the instructions. It tells me not to use if there is a dimmer unless it meets all specs. Like how do I know that? So I have to wait until tomorrow when DH can ask the professional electricians who are working at the club. Darn. They have been here for 2 months, and I was going to do it finally. Hopefully tomorrow. :confused3
