MM Warriors Part Deux (As of October 27)

Well, so far almost so good. I'm using my baby ben alarm. I didn't wake up one time early this morning so I went 5.5 hours between carb dams. It was like four in the morning, so I was probably dead to the world. I woke soon after and had an applesauce. I know during this time it's crucial to train my body to respond to carbs correctly, so I'm trying to be right on time. There will be time to relax it a bit after my endocrine system is working right.

I am going to get well if it kills me!:banana::banana:

Ok exercise. This is my biggest challenge and I admit it. I still feel crappy a lot. (I wonder if crappy is going to be edited, lol) It's 85 again today. I can't wait until bicycle weather is here. I'm wondering if bicycle weather ever gets here? :rotfl: I can't keep waiting though. I'm going to try the dancing things again but I'm going to look for some tamer songs. Fast club songs worked in my 20's, but I don't think I'm up for them at this point!

Well, good afternoon/morning. I've been having trouble sleeping at night the last two weeks so I'm oversleeping again. I think I've got myself worked up about company coming soon. I will check in later. I'm going to go and stuff some envelopes! Actually, mindless work sounds good this morning!

Beverly, So sorry to hear about your right ****. I'll be praying for peace of mind for you and negative results on the biopsy. Hang in there!

Pam, Congrats. How lucky you are to have your family blessed with another precious spirit. Audri sounds like a little doll.

Daniele, I make up about a 3 day batch of oatmeal by boiling 2 cups water and adding a little over 1 cup oatmeal. I like being able to just pull it out of the refrigerator in the morning and heat it in the microwave. I also was stressed out at the beginning of step 2..I'm in wk 3 and things are finally getting easier. Good luck!

Natalie, I hope the book helps you. I had adrenal fatigue in the early 2000's due to the onset of menopause and the death of both of my parents. It took several years to resolve. I drank a lot of herbal infusions and that seemed to help.

Sandra, Great job on the weight loss!

Barb, That's good news on the work front. You must be breathing a little easier now. Swimming would have been nice, tho.

Robin, That is so sweet that Ken took time out while on a business trip to search out a store and buy the Promise ring. I can tell it kind of threw you for a loop yesterday, but today your posts seem much more calm. I like your idea of wearing dark glasses so that people from the old sites won't know we're here. Maybe we could implement the "Cone of Silence" that Maxwell Smart always used.

Well, I'm off to watch Luke Skywalkker aka my grandson parade around his pre-school for their halloween party. The costume did fit and will send some pictures when I have someone to show me how. And yes Lisa, I love the fact that you are always telling me how to do computer things. I do really appreciate it. I just have to have someone show me, too. Then with the instructions and the visual, I can sometimes manage on my own. Sometimes.

Have a wonderful day,
Carol
Step 2

Feast upon the words of Christ

It's a bit of a curmudgeon to know whether of not to drink caffeinated green tea if you've given up caffeine. I think it needs to be a personal choice. I think you could drink lots of decaf green tea and eventually get the same health benefits, but I'm not sure.

I know how you feel. I have decaffeinated myself (except for very infrequent soda when out and about), and now need to add in green tea. Most people complain about flavor, so I am afraid to try. I am a big baby about icky flavors. Never could stand the flavor of cough syrup.

However, I am on glass 4 of ice water today.:cool1:

Thanks to all for the continued prayers and good thoughts.

Natalie - sorry missed your post! We have been dating less than a year, but things just fit so perfectly into place that it wasnt long before we both realized we were madly in love! We figure that at our ages, we are past the point of needing to date for 5 years before deciding to marry!! But believe me, there will not be a wedding anytime inthe NEAR future!! Maybe a year from now!

so VERY happy for you girl!! you've got a good one so hold on tight!! I know what you mean about being older and knowing what you want, no need to date forever:hourglass

Bev - I didnt' lose ANY weight in Step 1 and am still at a steady 167 (I go up and down). I'm going to schedule a doctor's appt too, my problem is I don't have a doctor here and need to find one I can trust and be comfortable with.

You definitely should do it.

Cindy--how did the detox go??

Good Morning All,

This is so funny about the green tea discussion. I was thinking about it last night as I lay in bed. I am not a tea drinker and have not been having any. I realize she says it is important and wondered if everyone was drinking it!!:lmao:
I wonder if I could steep a bag of it in a bit of water and then add it to something else – such as a shake to mask the taste?? I think I had a green tea in California last summer that was flavored and not too bad, but I can’t find it here. I guess I will have to look into this further. I took some measurements this morning an no real change for the past few weeks.

Barb, how great about the prospect of continued work for next year. What a relief for you.

Sandra – great results. Can I ask at what weight you started this journey?

Lisa, in regards to almond milk – that is how I have been thinking. I use it to make my one carb shake larger. I mix the decaf coffee in the almond milk and then add it to a shake. I get a hug mug full and add ice to that for a drink that lasts quite a while. I do think I will try adding the tea to this mixture too!!

I will e-mail the name I saw to Nell and then maybe she can mail it out to all of you. I saw her name on LCF toward the very end.

Crystal Light makes a green tea metabolism drink that is OK, but you are back to aspartame and I think some real sweetener – No wonder it tastes good!!!

I know there are green tea pills out there, but I think Diane said they were not as good.

I think just painting the fat green is good – isn’t “green” the new slogan anyhow?

Nell – do you have access to a pool anywhere? With our weather warm all the time, too, I find water the best place to cool off and just walking in the water can be a workout!

I think I made it through the posts! I hope those missing are just having a busy morning.

I am off to the gym and run errands. Hubby is playing bridge all day so I will spend the afternoon cooking up a few things with the music going full blast!!

Hi Natalie - I saw you got on as I was transferring my post from my word doc.

Have a great MM day and I will "see" you later.:)

Love to ALL:love:

Beverly, green tea is very mild and not at all like cough syrup, lol! I love the one mixed with jasmine - gives it a sweeter flavor naturally. Brew it weak until you try it. I leave my bag in the whole time - LOL!

Good Morning All, I've finally caught up with the post from yesterday. :goodvibes

Bev - Please know I will contine to keep you in my prayers.

Congrats to Pony! I know you're just beaming about getting that promise ring. You've got a romantic there girl...hold on tight! :lovestruc

:yay: Glad to hear that some will be returning to step 2....since I mentioned step 2, I would like to share my progress with you all. I weighed and measured yesterday and I've lost 12 pounds and 31.25 inches since starting this wol. I'm really thrilled, but being honest I would liked to have had more weightloss, but being real......I haven't stuck to the plan 100% either. I've had some setbacks with vacation, as well as trial and error with the transition. Slow and steady will win this race and I'm going to enjoy every minute of it. :woohoo:

If I missed anyone's post, I apologize and I'll try and do better about checking in. Have a great MM day. ;)

congrats on the weight loss:cool1::cool1::cool1:

Off to the dentist - yuck! So I think I'll have to stop at Ross on the way back as a reward!

Mt upper abdomen is way smaller than a week ago! Wearing a top that I wore last week, so I can really tell the difference. Step 2 took about 5 weeks to kick in for me. I lost another 1/2" from two spots on my leg as of today and I think another inch off my hips. :woohoo:

Ross has shoes  Yippeeee on the inches continuing to fall off !

I'm back. Thanks to everyone who shared in my happiness  I can't get ahold of my director to let her know that we most likely have been saved. I can't wait to tell her. She is so supportive and the best mentor I've ever had. I'm especially glad to be bringing her some happy news because the business' finances have been so bleak and on top of that she lost her daughter to cancer recently.

I'll be back in a bit.

I'm on my way to court, but I had to share some fantastic news! I just had a phone call with the district court administrator with our county's prosecutor's office. She intimated that they will most likely be giving us a LOT of new work at the first of the year, basically managing a probation service for them. YEA! my job will be saved! I'll be back later.:banana:

thats awesome Barb, so happy for you:dancer:(love this guy!!)

Good Morning All,

Sandra – great results. Can I ask at what weight you started this journey?

Thank you all for the support.

I started out weighing 302 and now weigh 290. For my size I was expecting better results, but I haven't been as strict as I should have either. I've gone from a tight size 24 to 22. I just bought a new pair of slacks and they're already loose. That's a real good thing :goodvibes.

Sandra

Cindy, are you close enough to Diane that you could see one of the doctors that she regularly works with? I know New York is a big area, I wasn't sure how far you are.

I am completely on the western side of NY...about 6 - 8 hours away from NJ.:sad2:

What brand do you use?

Lisa - Great news on your "losses."

Sandra, I have also not had the results I have expected. I need to tweak some things and see what works for me.

Congrats to you, Lisa! :yay: You'll be in those "skinny jeans" sooner than you think. :goodvibes

Pant, pant, pant, pant. Can you hear me panting from racing through all of the posts trying to catch up! I think I am going to count it as part of my exercise for today! :lmao:

You might still contact Diane for a reference. She might have had contact with someone in your area. It seems she is contacted about a lot of things!!

Back to the Green Tea!!

I just looked through the book and my pantry. I found the highlighted area where she says 2 bags of green tea equal the amount of caffeine in one cup of coffee. SHe does not seem to say how much green tea we should have - or am I missing something. I just added green to another bevrage andi it wasn't too bad and then I found 2 boxes of green tea with orange peel and spices. I'll try that next. I just don't do well with caffeine, though.

Sharon and Bev - I feel like both of you. I am seeing so little change in the numbers. Bev - we are on the low end of the scale so 3 - 5 pounds is not a lot anyhow and it might only be inches we see. I am going to see how perfectly I can do this between now and Thanksgiving and see what the tape measure says. I like the theory of eating more often and not let the liver start dumping so this way of eating is great. I might not be getting enough carbs except from veggies so I might try upping them. I have been low carbing for so long it is hard to change!! Can you teach an old dog new tricks???:lmao:

I am now off to run errands - got sidetracked a bit with the tea thing!!
