MM Warriors Part Deux (As of October 27)

Can you imagine what they would say on the old thread if they started reading about us praying for OOBIES and TATAS????!!!:lmao::lmao:

I missed this the first time I read it. Oh my gosh, that is so funny! :rotfl: They would probably be disgusted with us for wasting time with such talk. I think I'm still a little hurt about having our Godiva ride made fun of.

OMG though, have GOT to tell you guys this one! Since we are having issues connecting by phone from London, Ken sent me an e-mail about 20 minutes ago and said that he has to go BACK to China on Friday and he was so afraid to tell me that he went out to a wonderful London Jeweler and bought us both "Promise Bands" (his words) and had both of our names inscribed in them and is going to send mine before he leaves London on Friday. OMG am I ready to wear a promise band? And who even DOES that anymore?? And what the heck am I promising? :scared1::scared1:

Ken and Pony sittin' in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G :rolleyes1 :lmao: Now, listen, you should appreciate this guy for his honesty in voicing his intentions. He's old fasioned and that's very unusual these days. Would you have accepted an engagement ring? Same thing, it's just giving you even more time to see what your feelings are :scratchin

Nell - that seems kind of silly for a 59 year old man!! But I think maybe he just wanted to do something nice to commemorate the relationship and thought the rings would be nice...which they ARE, Im not complaining!! Then the next line, he says that when he is done with this contract he wants to replace this ring with an engagement ring....now THAT is going to FREAK ME OUT!!!

Barb - you are SO right...he is definitely an old-fashioned gentleman, and not afraid to admit it! One of the things I acutally LOVE about him!

I am off for yet another ultrasound for the lump I found approximately 4 months ago. I had the initial dr. appt., mammogram and ultrasound, this is my 2nd follow up ultrasound. I can still feel it which has me slightly concerned since they thought it was a hematoma. I can't imagine that I bruised something in there so badly that it is still there 4+ months later. Keep my right b**b in your thoughts.:rotfl: (Or at least your prayers.)

your right b**b is in my prayers!

Does anyone else have a hard time finding coconut in the baking Aisle that isn't sweetened? Carol thanks so much for the recipe! I think that is definitely going to be one I try!

Jocelyn, do you feel unsafe sharing here? I hope not.

The coconut is in the heath food section. It is a Bob's Red Mill item or in bulk in a health food store. I have never seen it with the regular things. The last batch I got at Whole Foods.

No ??? I'm not sure I understand the question.

Anyone know off hand how many pieces of pineapple we are allowed?

Is it in the book? I left my book at work..2 slices have 14 net carbs, 1/2 c. chucks in juice has 18.6 net carbs. I'm just not sure if it was left out of the step2 list because it's higher glycemic than other fruits. :confused3

I can do it, but probably not today, Nell, but I will!

P.S. My inbox contained the best gift from Cindy - she already did the spreadsheet for us! She has a repair man, a sick child, a headache and yet she gives of herself to us all! I bet her sink is shiny, too!

she was the one who asked what adrenal exhaustion is--you can tell she doesn't have it!!! good for her:banana:

It was a post that you wrote that you said you only shared when someone else brought up a topic. I think maybe your were referring to the old blog. I'm glad it's not here.

Did you get my email or the list?

Good to see you in real time!

I made some oatmeal, but I was really confused with how to make a 1/2 cup prepared before it was prepared. I didn't want to prepare a bunch and waste it. I made a quarter cup and added water to it and it came out to a little less than half a cup. I'd like to find out what the measurement is we should be using dry. If anyone knows how to convert that I'd be grateful.

It's in the book Barb. The fruits start on one page and end on another, it's on the second page of the fruits.

Seabreezes – the whole point here is that you can whine all you want, and we will listen and pray and maybe have a thought to help. Don’t shut us out, that’s not what we’re about here. I think we are all referring to the fact that you said you didn't share much on the other thread. We all love hearing about each other's lives. Think how much we would be missing, Robin's love for Ken, Cindy's awesome little ones, Kathy's recent family trials, my right b**b.

Nell – sorry your dinners can be stressful. We have found the best way to do Thanksgiving. We invite local friends who don’t have family nearby, and my family and DH’s (his declined again this year – but used to come). We have an early dinner and then leave by about 2:30 for a local Festival of Trees. That way we don’t have a bunch of people in the house for all day. Just plan something else to do early.

Lisa – I didn’t realize you were a kidnapper. LOL

Nell – don’t freak out about your meals, you’ll be fine, but trying to plan “normal” meal times might help. I loved your quote “I get hungry, I eat and then I’m not hungry.” I think that is what’s supposed to happen if your body reacts normally. Ours haven’t reacted normally for so long we don’t know how to deal with it.

Carol – what an amazing story about you and your sister. It made me tear up too. I can’t wait to see the costume.

Pam – congrats on being a grandma again!

Robin – a promise ring, does that mean you are going steady? You are promising to be his girl. OMG – an engagement ring? I will help you plan the wedding. How do you feel about a destination wedding at Disney? Come on, they gave us a new home here on the DIS right?

Medical Update.

Had yet another ultrasound for the lump I have in my right breast.

For the first time ever, the radiologist actually came in to talk to me when it was done.

He said that it appeared the hematoma had resolved itself, but there was still a lump present. He said that the lump appears to be fluid filled, but there were some flecks (or something like that) in there.

So, on Monday at 10:00 a.m. I am scheduled for an ultrasound guided biopsy of the lump. So, please keep her (my right breast) in your prayers. I have a very good friend who went through this last week (she is 40), and her mother died of breast cancer at 47. Luckily her aspiration came out fine, but whoever it was who looked at the fluid was mad they didn't take a tissue sample. I know they do plan to take a tissue sample from me as well as an aspiration if they can get any fluid. I am now 46, so that is way too close to her mom's 47.

So, please add me to your prayer lists, I'll take all the help I can get.

I'm off to watch Top Chef. I'll see you tomorrow.

When I just checked my e-mail, Diane had replied last night about 10:30. It got downloaded to my computer at home, so I missed it at the office today.

Here is her response to my questions:

Nice to hear from you. Please also see www.themetabolismmiracle.com blog page for information on the handful of things that can cause slower than anticipated fat loss:

On Step 1:
-carb sneaking in
- carb stacking to amounts over 5 grams of carb (using 5x5 carbs too close to each other)
-not enough exercise
-undertreated thyroid (if you are hypothyroid)
-very high cholesterol or blood sugar going into the program.

On Step 2:
-eating more carb than 11-20 grams at a meal/snack
-eating less carb than 11-20 grams at a meal/snack
-skipping 11-20 grams at snack when meals exceed 5 hours
-exercising in the morning without first taking an 11-20 carb serving
-undertreated thyroid (if you are hypothyroid)
-higher level of stress
-higher level of pain
-illness over 3 days
Review and see if any or several apply to you as they are the only things that can slow fat loss up!

I replied that I didn't feel that I had any of these issues and asked if I should get bloodwork done. She answered very quickly.

On Step 2, if you are under stress, sick, or in pain...there will be a stop in weight loss without a 10 day return to Step 1. The blood tests: thyroid panel, cortisol, fasting insulin. If you get them done, have them done fasting and please let me know the results! Diane

My only question is I didn't lose much on Step 1 either. I think I will call the Dr. and ask for bloodwork before I go back to Step 1.

What do you all think?

Hi dear,

No, I still did not get the list. I just checked and sent you another e-mail. I also checked the Spam folder and you are not in there. Make sure you are spelling my name properly. I noticed you added a y in one of your messages.

Yes, I was referring to the other board. I just didn't like the vibes and when I read the new posts I definitley wouldn't say anything personal on that board. No one would ever find what you said anyhow as you wade through all the posts. I just don't understand it.:headache::headache:

Ok, I'm doing step two today, and I know I'm doing it all screwed up. :sad2: I am concentrating so hard on spacing the carbs that I've completely forgotten to make any vegetables. Now, four hours and 7 minutes have gone by since my first 11-20 carb meal and I'm starving! :crazy2: I'm cooking now.

I have an issue. I don't eat breakfast lunch and dinner. I've never had kids and I eat when I'm hungry. So I'm not sure how to work that out unless I start eating normal meals, which is going to be really difficult because I'm super overwhelmed with this and being hungry. I set an alarm clock for 4 1/2 hours since my last meal. It's due to go off in 15 minutes.

I had 6 triscuts with the apricot high fiber all fruit and a Nathan's hot dog for breakfast. Yes, I know it's a weird breakfast. I can't do a good food shopping until next week.

My next meal in a few minutes is going to be a fried egg sandwich on a 5 carb wrap with a half cup of applesauce. To be on the safe side I'm going to add some benefiber in the applesauce just to have a little extra fiber.

Ok, thank you for listening to me freak out. When I eat and am no longer hungry, I'm going to make a pot of broccoli soup. I need to get some vegetables in also.

I know how you feel, I was supposed to go to step 2 on the 21st but I'm going away next week and thought it would be easier if I didn't have to think about step 2 on vacation. I'm going to start when I get back......I think........heehee, ok I know I have to but I just don't want to.....I don't want to wrap my brain around 2:rolleyes1

:wave2:Good evening everyone!

I just spent a little time catching up. What yappers we are! lol

I'm a granny again! ::yes:: Audri finally decided to introduce herself to us this morning shortly before 5 am. She's a tiny little thing, 5lbs 9oz and 18" long. She's tiny all over, like a little sprite or fairy. Mom and baby are doing beautifully, daddy's chest is about to burst! lol ...and granny needs to finish up with the painting mess!

I see Nell is doing the Step II first day, panic dance. Did anyone NOT do this? My biggest issue was with putting the carbs with the meals. My brain didn't want to process it. Doesn't that speak volumes about my all or nothing personality? lol Nell, I felt sluggish and bulky in the beginning of Step II. I don't remember a headache at all. You can do this girlie, you can do anything!!

Welcome Honeygram! :jumping1:

 My eyes are all out of focus from lack of sleep. You all have a wonderful evening!

congrats granny:banana::banana:

Hi folks, one hour to go and cannot WAIT to get out of here today...just not "feeling the love" if you know what I mean! :upsidedow

Can you imagine what they would say on the old thread if they started reading about us praying for OOBIES and TATAS????!!!:lmao::lmao:

Barb and Kate - it will be a sad day when we get in trouble for whining and gloating...I mean FOR REAL?? What else is there!!!:thumbsup2

Nell - the gym mirrors are just the skinny spandex princesses way of making sure us chubby people get to VISUALIZE our prior excesses!!! Seriously though, it is somewhat motivating to know that some day I wil see the old me looking back! I felt out of sorts for the first 5 days on step 2 last time...so Im prepared for it this time...dont know why, but I remember feeling just plain cruddy...but it did go away!

Carol - so sweet of your sister to say that to you, and to be so supportive of your efforts!

Pam CONGRATULATIONS GRANNY!! Such a blessing to welcome a new life into the family. I cracked up at your description of the step 2 PANIC
DANCE...that is SUCH a PERFECT name for it!! I will be doing the Panic Re-Launch Dance on Sunday!! Y'all better be prepared for some CLASS A Whining!! You know me, I am such a baby about these things!!

Kathy - Thanks, and I will tell Ken that you are prepared to come hold me down til he gets back!! Im sure he will be quite appreciative!

Lisa - OMG, what about this promise band thing? I think I remember getting something like that from my boyfriend in 7th grade and it turned my finger green....:rotfl2:

how long have you 2 been dating??? It does seem soon but thats what you do when you're in love, silly sweet stuff---aahhh I remember those days
