MM: Fantasyland or Tomorrowland?

Hello! ^^ another question..sorry, I know I probably ask too many, but I'm inexperienced...

We're going to be getting one magic morning with our park hoppers. Our group includes two adults, two teenagers, and a not-quite-two year old. We're going to have five days in the parks in total, So i'm left wondering...should we use our magic morning time in Fantasyland, or Tomorrowland?

The reason I'm asking is because all of us will want to get on the Fantasyland rides. But we also really wanna get on Nemo, which I heard always has a horrific wait time. I figured magic morning would be the best time to get on it...but it would also be the best time to hit fantasyland and ride peter pan, dumbo, the matterhorn...etc, etc. I know that line traffic drops during shows like Fantasmic, the fireworks, and soon WoC. So we should probably have our MM in the land that is less affected by those shows, right...? If so, which would be emptier and easier to go on during the night-time? Fantasyland, or Tomorrowland specifically for Nemo?

Well as far as I know the only thing open in TL is Space Mtn.....everything else open will be in FL. I would go to FL first and send a runner with your tickets to Space to see if you can get FPs.

Anyway, I second doing Fantasyland with your MM as the lines tend to get longer later in the day while you can still use FPs for Tomorrowland rides.

Nemo is a long ride (~15 minutes), so it will eat up a lot MM. You could hit 4 or more small fantasyland rides in 15 minutes alone. I'd hit the really popular Fantasyland rides first.

That should take up 30 minutes or less of MM. When you have finished one side of the Matterhorn, head over to Tomorrowland. Send somebody to scout Nemo out. If it is under 20 minutes then go for it.

When your done you can head back over to Fantasyland. Though there will be small lines for the other Fantasyland rides (Toad, Snow White, Pinocchio, Carousal), they will be super short compared to Peter Pan, Dumbo, Alice, and the Matterhorn. If MM is over, you could even grab Space fast passes before heading back to Fantasyland.

Better yet, plan Nemo as your first ride on a day when there is no MM (like most Mon, Wed, Fri). While walking through Tomorrowland you can nominate one of the teenagers to "walk ahead with purpose" and snag Space Mountain fast passes for everybody on the way to Nemo.

The line for Nemo isn't that bad as it gets closer to park closing. Check out the line later in the evening on the first day that you guys are there and see how bad it is. Or you guys can get to the parks early before they open on a non-MM day and do Nemo first. Either way, I'm sure you guys will have fun

Granted I have not done Nemo yet, claustrophobic! But DD is determined I will ride it this trip. But, from all that I have witnessed and heard Fl is the best option for a MM. Being able to knock out so many rides in the first hour or two will help free up time so you can get away with waiting in the long Nemo line.

Remembering how long Peter Pan has been each of my last 3 trips - even at park close the line could be an hour! So, getting those done is a huge benefit for the rest of your trip.

If I recall correctly, I don't believe the Nemo ride uses any animatronics. The ride projects scenes from the cartoon underwater (similar to the way they project scenes in Fantasmic), which you view from your submarine window.

Don't want to ruin the magic, but yes, you will be fine to see it at nighttime or daytime.

Last summer we waited maybe 30 minutes or less for Nemo in the summer, I think sometime after fireworks. There was even a band playing at Tomorrowland Terrace so there was a little entertainment. (Though I put in my earplugs because my ears are sensitive. )

If you have an "attack" (for lack of a better word), that's not going to be pleasant for you, your daughter, or...anyone else in the sub. If you're going to do this, try to board very last, so you're sitting near the stairs. We were behind (following in) a family, and the wife was claustrophobic and she was FIRST in, which meant she was completely socked in by the wall of the sub and her family, and she stopped halfway down the row starting to say she coudln't do it. TRUST ME, we helped get the attention of the CM, and we moved out of the way. No one wanted her to have problems on that ride in that tiny sub!

So really, I would highly recommend going to the alternative viewing room, which is for people with claustrophobic problems, people who can't get down the stairs, etc etc. Just ask the CM. Same experience, same views...just not in a submarine.

Correct. Won't make any difference. Though during the times where you are out in the lagoon and look up, there's a difference between the artificial lights and the sunshine hitting the top of the water. But most of the ride isn't....isn't in a place where you can see that.


Do Nemo very first thing on a NON MM day. Not just a day that you don't have MM, but on a truly non MM day. You'll be competing with more people, but then again, very first moments of the park are always the lightest anyway.


And yep, Peter Pan first, always first! (if you want to see it, of course)

Are you planning on staying until Park closing? If so, get in line for Nemo right before the Park closes. As long as you are in line before the Park closing time, you will get to ride - no matter how long the line. This way, you are waiting in line while the Park is closed. Other than shopping on Main Street, you are not missing out on anything.

Are you aware of the Marine Observation Outpost at Nemo? This is a viewing room in which you experience everything those on the submarine experience, except you don't have to go into the submarine. It is designed for those who cannot do stairs, as well as those who are claustrophobic and can't go into the sub.

I have heard about the observation deck and definitely keeping that as my back-up plan. I do not do too badly now but if I do go on with my DD will certainly try and arrange to be one of the last on. Not sure the extra wait time from being first would be fun.

I never thought I was clostrophobic until I had to a MRI. I did Nemo after this and only had a brief moment when I had started to have issues, and this was waiting for the ride to start and we were facing a wall. I simply turned my head to face into the sub and was okay. Once the ride started I had no problem.

I would definitely do Fantasyland because:
a) The lines for the rides there are slower moving than the TL attractions
b) Buzz and Space have FP so you can have short lines for those rides later in the day, so you do not need to use MM on those rides
c) Nemo will take up a majority of your time during MM, so it's not worth it to use your MM for 1 or 2 rides. Might as well capitalize and hit up 7+ rides in Fantasyland in the same amount of time.

I forget about Nemo, we always do it at night, right before closing (like 5 min before) we get in the Nemo line to do that one. I'm slightly claustrophobic but have not had an issue on Nemo, if I start to feel funny I lean forward into the porthole so I can have the air blowing in my face and I can't see how enclosed it is, that helps me quite a bit.....but if you suffer from a stronger case that may not work for you.

How long is the wait for Nemo right at closing? 15 minutes, 20? Or am I being too optimistic there?
