MM/EMH Second Saturday in October

I'm planning a trip starting on the second Saturday in October. My idea was to get a PH with MM, use it on our first day, then convert to an AP. However, in looking at the historical hours for the last two years, there was no MM/EMH at DL on the second Saturday in October, but there was MM/EMH at DL on Sunday instead. EMH for CA was switched on those two days as well.

Does anyone know why MM/EMH would be switched for DL & CA on the second weekend in October?

(I realize I'm OCD about this. Please humor me.)

Also... can anyone point me to the thread that lists major events/conventions that would have an effect on park attendance?

I don't know about the switch unless there's a race, etc. BUT I wanted to say that IF Disney raises prices again you will have to pay the difference. That is if you purchased APs now the price would be set for you, but if you purchase 3-day hoppers and then the price goes up on the AP you have to pay the difference of what you paid for the hopper and the new price of the AP. We bought hoppers for our first family trip knowing we'd be upgrading and the prices did go up before our trip. There is speculation that prices could be raised a second time this year. Just something to think about...

We've gone numerous times over the second weekend in Oct. I've never paid attention to MM because we are a sleep in and stay up late type family. However that Sun is CHOC walk so maybe that has something to do with the change in the MM schedule. Also Monday is Columbus Day so be prepared for crowds. That was our last day at DL last year and it was super busy. Figment has a thread going that's keeping track of different events and school breaks.
