MM/EMH on a 10:00 opening day

We'll be at the parks for 3 days that have a 10:00 a.m. opening, so EMH/MM (we're staying at DLH) will be at 9:00. Such a civilized hour! :)

Since it is later, I'm guessing that people line up a little earlier at the gate and that the hour will be fairly well attended, versus a 7:00a MM.

Anyone have experience about a good time to get to the turnstiles for both DL and DCA? I'm hoping to get on PP early...

Thanks!

When I was there last year, the longest lines I saw for Peter Pan on our whole trip were during a 9am Magic Morning (we got there around 9:30). The park was packed, lines for Matterhorn went way around the mountain, it was crazy.

Not sure what time you need to be at the turnstiles to make the most of it, but earlier the better!

Good to know. I'll keep an eye on the wait times the day before and maybe try to grab it at another time.

10am openings are usually during the 'traditional offseason', so if that's when you're going the crowds (including EMH) are usually lower. That being said, all bets off if it's near the holidays.

We usually go in Feb/Mar and have been in mid-Sept and EMH crowds weren't bad. Of course, there was no 'new' Peter Pan or new effects on MH so that affects the rush to get in line.

We typically hit bag check around 8am for 9am EMH and have been able to get in a relatively short line at the gates and pretty closeup for rope drop.

In my experience, DCA EMH aren't nearly as bad as DL's when it's at 9 a.m. vs. 7 a.m. I found no advantage to them at DL. But you might actually be better off sacrificing one of your DCA EMH mornings to do the 10 a.m. rope drop at DL.

I would say be through bag check and at the turnstiles by 8:30 at the very latest. The problem with 9am MM/ EMH is that EVERYBODY can get their family there by 9, as opposed to getting there at 7 on earlier days. It will definitely be more crowded, but if you're early you should be ok.

Thanks everyone! We're going Aug 30- Sep 2, so hoping for low crowds in general.

I think "sacrificing" our second DCA EMH is a good idea and doing 10a rope drop will work. Or maybe the kids and DH do DCA if they're dying to do that and I do PP on my own. I'm pregnant this trip, so can't do RSR or Screamin'.
