We're thinking of extending our 1st DVC stay. Maybe even a different resort. Does MLK day affect crowds much? I'm thinking it'd be local more than anything, but was just curious. :flower3:

Definitely crowded on MLK weekend, like any holiday weekend. Not as bad as Memorial day or July 4th, but you'll definitely need some fastpasses and ADRs

Yes MLK will be more crowded. I plan to call next week when the 7 month window opens, but while on the phone this week booking a reservation for May 2011 with my 11 month window for BWV, I asked to check available for Jan. 16-29 and already days were sold out (Studio-standard). I own there, but normally in January I am flexible where I stay. So the BWV-standard is out, at least I can decide on my options.

i signed up myself at www.touringplans.com and the crowd level is actually going to be a level 8 the day before MLK (Jan. 16) and you should avoid MK but head to Epcot and on MLK (Jan. 17) it will be a level 5 and you should avoid MK/EP and head to Hollywood Studios...you should sign up for www.touringplans.com, it helps me when im planning what theme parks to go on what days.

What Does It Feel Like?
LEVEL COMMENTS
10 "At noon you can walk down Main Street U.S.A. without your feet touching the ground. Super crowded!"
9 "Plan on 20-minute waits for the bathroom. If this is a '9' I'd hate to see a '10'."
8 "Yay for the touring plans! We only waited 10 minutes at most attractions but the crowds were big"
7 "It was crowded during mid-day but the morning wasn't that bad"
6 "Crowded but manageable"
5 "Reminds me of when I was here in the '80s"
4 "Must be the warm weather keeping everyone back at the pool"
3 "Didn't really need the touring plan, we ended up riding some things twice with no wait"
2 "Wow, its like we have the park to ourselves"
1 "Is the park even open? Mickey, are you there?"
