MLB rule changes - bigger bases, and did you know the bases don’t form a square?

Usually the fans booing the delays give the players a hint to speed it up.
NFL games are far far worse because of the "TV commercial break" time outs.
Sorry, what makes them "worse"? I think they're equally bad.

I understand the amount of time an at bat like this seems to take. My take is he's trying to get a hit since it's probably a strike being thrown. Batters that can stay alive like that are usually very good hitters!
I agree with your post and will add that they are hitting anything close to prevent getting struck out looking. My DD19 has had some 10-11 pitch AB to prevent getting that backwards K - no hitter ever wants that :sad2:

A batter stepping out of the batters box or a pitcher stepping off the mound takes a whole lot less time than Football players wandering around for 2 minutes and 30 seconds for a commercial break.

But you still have 2:30 after each half inning. So 17 breaks (not counting an end of game). Probably about the same amount in a football game.

No, you're forgetting all the time outs during the game and official reviews. Those 2:30 breaks are in addition to the normal game slowdowns.

Actually, I'm not.

End of each quarter and before 2nd half (not counting end of game) = 4 breaks. These really don't have much impact on play.
Internal of each quarter 4(?) = 16

That's 20 breaks. I already said 17 for baseball, which doesn't include those taken during pitcher changes. Add three for that, and that's 20. As I said, pretty comparable. What REALLY slows down FB is the 20-30 seconds between plays (unless a team is in "hurry up").

I guess it depends on how the question is being asked. If you are talking about the actual physical base object then I have a resounding never gave it a thought and never will care!

If your talking and about the location and as a group then that is a baseball diamond not a square.

Couldn’t agree more, even though I know what I’m about to say is not going to be agreed on my point of view by pretty much anyone. I can’t even watch football anymore most the time. Some people I know give me a hard time and say I watch boring sports like baseball and golf. But I truly believe there is more action in both of those than football (especially nfl). There is a play that usually only takes a few seconds, followed by a 35 ish second break (unless in hurry up which isn’t all game). Then another few second play, followed by another 35 ish second break. I find football quit boring. Then there are just so many commercials it makes it even more boring to me. Not to mention you can call a penalty (mostly holding) on every play. I just don’t get why people say football is so exciting at all. At least in golf they are constantly going to someone on the tee, in the fairway, or putting.

I find hockey (my favorite sport) and basketball (even though I don’t watch that) to have the most action.

Wait, weren't you the one complaining about the pitch clock? :rotfl2: Baseball does the exact same thing... even if the ball is hit, the play takes a few seconds. Then a 35 second break while the next batter steps up, the pitcher rubs parts of his body, every one gets in position... throw... oh, a ball. Another 35 second break, etc, etc.

Golf, I think the television crews do a better job of showing "action"... player steps up to swing, ball goes wherever it goes, show the reaction of the player, then on to the next.

I do agree that football moves too slow for me now. Why? I like soccer (shh... don't tell @Buzz Rules ).
