MK photo session

I have seen some pics of people's MK sessions were they are in front of the Haunted Mansion..... does anyone know if there are other area's you're allowed to take pics in front of? Particularly Main Street USA? I'd love a pic walking along Main Street USA each way.... and looking in the store windows or something.... anyone know if you can?

I believe it's basically up to the photographer. The main shots that everyone gets is the castle and the carousel. I heard if they're doing construction, there's tresses in front of the castle, or you get a really, really nice photographer, they can do other locations, but you wouldn't know for sure until you got there...

Gina Loves Disney, please ask Disney about this. There are off-limits locations and Disney has valid reasons for them (safety, cleanliness, etc.). Disney is the only one who can give you the definitive answer to your question.

Now that I've stated my disclaimer , I will share with you some locations that I have seen in the past. Please note that it does not mean that these locations are available in the present:

Cinderella Castle (front, underneath, back)
Carousel
Fountain
Wishing Well
Tea Cups
Haunted Mansion
Tiki Statues (the squirting ones in Frontierland or Adventureland -- I forget which)

I have seen a few other locations but they are escaping me right now. Hopefully, others will chime in.

The MK photo session takes less than an hour. The Disney photographers are very good at getting the bridal couple in and out of the theme park according to schedule.

We had ours in Main Street - around the Christmas Tree (as it was xmas) and the firestation/sweetshop. And some around Minnies house.

Now the reason why we had those locations is because they were filming a commercial at the time and we could not use the carousel/tea cups area. And because of this the Castle lights could not be on although my photos were digitally altered to look like they were.

When i spoke to my photographer he explained unless there is an unusual situation like this then DPS do not like the photographers to take anything but the standard locations - this is mainly due to the amount of things going on at that time in the MK.

Its worth asking, but i wouldnt count on it!

I requested to have pictures made on the PeopleMover (TomorrowLand Transit Authority but I'm a purist) because that's where we were engaged. Rosie was kind enough to make special arrangements for us to do this! She said when she called and asked they said that was definitely a first!

We are forfeiting the carousel in order to do that and the Hanted Mansion instead.

I requested to have pictures made on the PeopleMover (TomorrowLand Transit Authority but I'm a purist) because that's where we were engaged. Rosie was kind enough to make special arrangements for us to do this! She said when she called and asked they said that was definitely a first!

We are forfeiting the carousel in order to do that and the Hanted Mansion instead.

Awww that's cute! I would deff forfit my carousel for some Main St. pics.

We were able to get some pictures in front of the Tea Cups with our photographer. Granted, our pictures came out terrible (due to many factors) but, we were excited to be able to get those pictures!! I really think it all depends on your photographer but I would definitely ask and suggest locations when you do it!!

it was so wierd to be there before the park opened. i thought it would be empty. just me, my husband and the photographer. but no the place was CRAWLING with workers. there were construction vehicles and maintenance vehicles all up and down mainstreet and parked on the hub.

it was really cool to be in the park before it opened but not particularly magical !

but the photos make it look like it was just me, andy and the castle. the photos are amazingly magical and worth every penny of the $800!

Like Laura, we got extras because of the commercial and the fact they bought our shoot forward an hour. I think each photographer has their own special area shots. We had Amy who was adamant about doing my siggie pic & boy, I'm glad she did. She was reluctant to do The Haunted Mansion as it is so difficult to light. Here are my faves...

We were lucky enough to get these as well as the standard castle in & out and carousel.

Enjoy every minute of it & try to relax. Our shoot was at 5am in November and it was freezing. I took a jacket with me & kept putting it on between shots. Also trust your photographer, we had a shot in the ceremony & one in MK which felt really strange posing for & they turned out to be our favourites. Just be prepared to see the park in a different light
