Mk on a party day...awesome for toddlers

We decided to go to mk on a party night thanks to reading here and listening to various podcasts.

Worked out great!

We don't care if we miss stuff. We go once a year or so and don't get upset if we miss certain rides, so I guess we go in with a spontaneous attitude. We got there at 1030 (we all had a cold so slept in) and left around 715 ish.

We were able to get daughters 1st haircut (walk in,no appt...about 1 and half wait, but didn't have to wait there)
Jingle cruise
Big thunder
Lunch at Pecos
4 Trips on speedway (well 2 separate fp reservations...but did parent swap and son got to ride 4 times)
Tea cups
Dumbo twice (we also stayed to play inside since kids wanted to...no line)
Donald and goofy
Barnstormer
Small world
Tiki room
Castle lighting
Tinker bell


Would totally reco party day for family with toddlers. Even got to see the snow on the way out

Followed up with dole whip at poly before heading back to pop.

That's awesome! Thank you for posting. I'm so glad your day worked out so well! I'm planning this same thing with DS9 (not a toddler, but still can't really handle a whole day in the parks). We have our 3 FP+'s booked and the rest will be bonus. Just happy to see the park decorated for the holiday and soak in the Disney/holiday spirit!

We also did this on 11/29. Slept in and arrived at 10. The kids made it all day for the first time and we even hopped over to Epcot after for evening emh!

We were there on 12/1 probably our most relaxing day at mk ever, and that was with 2 little ones! We considered hopping, but with our colds we decided to hop back to the resort and go to bed!!!

I totally agree with you! My 2 year old is pretty much useless after 7:30 anyway, so a 7:00 closing didn't bother us in the least. We did this in September on a Friday with morning EMH, and it was perfect. 8 AM arrival, 12:30 hotel break, back from 4-7 for dinner and a few more attractions. Everyone was happy, no one was exhausted the next day.
