MK on 7/5/04 - What Do You Think?

We'll be in World 7/3 to 7/12 and we are planning on going to MK on Mon 7/5 and staying away from the parks on the 4th because of the huge crowds I would imagine on the 4th. Do you think the crowds would be tolerable at MK on the 5th or should we go another day?

I've read that the 4th is especially crowded because many local people go to the MK that day for the festivities, and that the 5th has less of a crowd because of less locals.

IMHO, Monday's are NOT the best in MK, because every time we've gone there on a Monday, after being there on other days, it seems twice as packed, or more in the summer. I think the general idea is that families travel on the weekends to get to WDW, and thus Monday is the first day they can hit MK. With the kind of time frame you have, I'd do a different park on Monday a.m. (Epcot?) and hit MK toward evening, or on another day.

My philosophical question is: How crowded does it have to be before it just doesn't matter how much more crowded it is, because it's already too crowded??? (Now that we've moved up North, I ponder the same thing about how cold does it have to get before...)

We have gone the last several years, and the crowds are bad the entire week. But we will be back this year! My suggestion is go to the parks early, do as much as you can, then head back to your resort and enjoy it. Then. later in the day when you are relaxed and rested head back out. Just be prepared to wait in line, even with fastpasses. As long as you know what to expect you are prepared for the worst. You will still have a great time, as we alway do!
