Feel that Mk may have the least amount of 'big time' rides and the nightmare franchise deserves one. They have a monster following and need more spooky fun in all the parks. It would be fantastical!!!

This idea is mentioned often. Still don't see it happening though. The NBC overlay at DL's HM is likely all we'll see.

There are all kinds of Disney movies that have fans who want an attraction build around them. Imagine how big the parks would have to be if every movie with a decent fan base had its own attraction. You'd need a month to see them all. I'm content to let Disney decide which attraction gets built next. It's not as if they're just pulling a name out of their, um, hat.

I love Tim Burton's "Nightmare Before Christmas" and would enjoy the chance to visit Disneyland to experience the Haunted Mansion while decorated in the "Nightmare" theme. But, I would not want the MK haunted mansion to re-create that seasonal production...other ideas would be intriguing...

Eh... I have never been a huge fan of Nightmare Before Christmas. Actually, I have never been able to sit through the whole thing. Just don't enjoy it. So I could care less.

But I agree with Minnie Mum... I trust Disney knows quite well which property will be used next. They have a pretty good track record over the years.

The NBC layover at HM in DL is incredible. We got a chance to see it in Nov '11. It was so good that DS & DD begged to see it 4 or 5 times per day every day of our trip.

While I would love to see something NBC at the WDW, I agree with DDM101 simply recreating DL's version wouldn't be special. Maybe creating a special meet 'n greet section similar to what they did with the Fairies would suffice. Or spooking up Tom Sawyer's island as a walk-through might work also. I know DD would absolutely love either! But a whole ride solely dedicated simply wouldn't work, as I do not believe it has a strong following beyond a small die-hard group of fans and who would really want to see it around say Easter or the 4th of July. :confused3

And while they're at it, I want a 101 Dalmations attraction, and a Jungle Book one.

And I always liked Escape From Witch Mountain.

And Bambi. . .oooh, and Ol' Yeller, and Fox and the Hound. . .tie all three together.

See, you can get people to debate this all day.

How about we just cut to the chase, dump the whole idea of a Pixar area at DHS and build a Tim Burton land. Yeah, that's gonna happen.

I'd like a Hayley Mills land with Pollyanna, The Parent Trap (the real one), The Moonspinners (that one was romantic), That Darn Cat, Summer Magic, maybe even Miss Bliss.

And Tommy Kirk land - maybe combined with Annette Land.

And, of course, we'd need a Moochieland, too.

Love NBC, but I feel like there's almost too much going on in the MK. If I were going to build it, I'd put it somewhere else. DHS, maybe.

I cannot get on board enough with this idea. (Do I agree it could go in DHS, tho)

It seems like Disney just wants this movie to go away. It's still unbelievably popular almost TWENTY years later, even more so that when it was first released, but it seems Disney just eeks out a little here and a little there trying to placate us Burton fans. You can get more Jack Skellington stuff at Spencer's than you can at WDW. Is that really what they want?

I don't get why they ignore this movie. Sure it's not typical Disney fare, but that is also why it is so enduringly popular.

(But yes - Jungle Books needs an amazing indoor dark ride!)

That'd be cool. I kind of wish they would make a whole resort based off of their spooky rides, movies, and villains. The whole Tower of Terror/Haunted Mansion vibe. I think a lot of adults, teens, and some kids would be into it. My 9 year old loved NBC, and would appreciate more dedicated to it for sure.

I'm cracking up over the trauma that would be caused by the Bambi/fox & the hound/ old yeller attraction. Tunnel of Tears. Hosted by Debbie Downer.

I actually felt cheated last year when we went to Disneyland for Christmas. I dont like NBC and wanted to ride the haunted mansion!

Sorry!

Well, to be fair WDW was supposed to get the NBC Holiday overlay for their HM, but it went over to Tokyo instead. I know a bunch of people who wish that it hadn't, but I don't mind because I like having the HM year-round, since the only time we ever make it to WDW is around the time the overlay would be up.

It is a hugely popular movie. I know tons and tons of NBC fans, and kind of like it myself. It's been a world in Kingdom Hearts, what, 3 times? And the merch is everywhere it seems.

I think a meet and greet would be nice, at least at the Halloween party.
But I think it's up to Disney whether or not we get rides of certain movies.

But while we're discussing what we want, how about a Kingdom Hearts ride or meet and greet! :)

Yeah, I don't think holiday overlays are such a good fit for WDW, with its relatively low local to yearly visitor ratio. When people aren't able to get there very often, they want to see their favorites when they do get there.

I don't see MK being a good fit, but Disney Hollywood studios would be a great one. It would ad another great showcase ride, and they could make it scary, super scary
