MK/Fantasyland “Early Morning Magic” (EMM) FAQ & Discussion

Just booked March 24. I’m on the fence about keeping the reservation, actually. It’s a very short 3 night trip, and that would be the morning we head back home. Ideally I’d like to keep our check out morning low key, but I am so excited to try out the new format for this event!! We did the old format one last time in November, and both DD and I felt tired of it. After Peter Pan twice, Winnie the Pooh once, and 4 times on SDMT, she actually asked me if we could go get breakfast. I’m looking forward to the changes to this event and have enjoyed reading all of the reports from those who have done it!

I ‘had’ to do DHS EMM on our check out day earlier in the fall. Definitely not my first choice to do it on a travel day - we’d rather just chill and get going with travel. BUT, we did it anyway. :-)

Turned out OK!

Finally after stalker like behaviour I booked March 24!! Now all that’s left is to call DSS for club level FP and we are good to go! This vacation has taken a lot of planning effort lol. More than Europe or Hawaii or any other trip I’ve planned for the family. Thanks for updating this thread. Without DIS would be impossible to plan a trip to Disney!

I think my hesitation is that I’m remember the TSL passholder event back in September. We were checking out that day and had the 6:45 check-in time. We had to wake up at 4:30 in order to finish packing and get our bags checked (and we attempted taking the bus. We were outside waiting for one at 5:50AM but ultimately ended up taking Uber). It was anything but low key! This, at least, is at 7:30-ish, and I think it will be easier if I book ahead with Mears. I am leaning towards keeping it. If I tell my daughter, I won’t be able to cancel it, lol. She is very excited that there is now more to do at this event.

I was hoping to get some recon here before my fastpass window opens for my Tuesday March 5th date:

1) how late can you show up for breakfast

2) is it possible to do space mountain (twice?!) then buzz Lightyear before breakfast.

I have only ropedropped fantasyland and the left side of the park so I am not sure of what to expect in Tomorrowland.

Thanks all!

According to the WDW site, breakfast is served until 10 am. So probably 9:45?

We're hoping to manage some of Tomorrowland right at RD after Fantasyland as well. I did Touring Plans, and for my dates it looks very doable. We also aren't worried about SM, since DGS is too young and short and the adults are doing a DAH later in the week.
Try plugging in your plans into TP and see what your timing is.

With regards to the breakfast: they do a hard stop at 10am; as in, they take away all of the buffet and continental breakfast items. They leave the preplated items out until exactly 10:15, so if you don’t want any of the other items (fruit, pastries, oatmeal, etc.) you could theoretically show up as late as 10:10 or so and hope they still have entrees left over to hand out.

Question for getting to Fantasyland once inside. Apologies if this is already mentioned. When we went last, guests were escorted up and around the left side of the hub, then through the Liberty Square spoke to get there. Is that entry path still the same?

I believe this is still the same arrangement.

No it's now to the right by Tomorrowland. PPO ADRs still go to the left, but EMM goes to the right. I gave a detailed description and comparison of the 2 in my blog post. My only complaint about going to the right was that they didn't have a photopass photographer there like they did by Liberty Square

Just booked for March 3rd! Originally I has a PPO at BOG in the same day, but I figured EMM would be more beneficial since we can knock out both the mine train and Peter Pan and enjoy more of fantasy land before the masses arrive :) I'm super excited!

I'm so glad to read the great reviews for this event! We're booked for Feb 5th and I noticed that Peter Pan won't be included that day (even though it's after the announced refurbishment dates for the ride and I assume it'll be running during regular hours that same day). I wonder if this will have any impact on lines at other rides with one less attraction available? I'm hoping crowds will be low enough that it won't matter.

Thank you; I’ll look for your post.

So we’re booked for EMM both at HS and Fantasyland week of March 10. Purely a time play so we can maximize resort time @ AoA and AKL respectively (among other things). Will happily refer thoughts when completed.

Was looking into doing the Classic MK ride VIP tour but I think FP+ and EMM obviate the need for that.

Do they care if you take the breakfast items out? I'm not looking to stuff my bags with extras, but with 2 small kids, we don't want to waste too much prime morning time waiting for them to slowly eat their food.

I'm excited to see the reviews! I was worried that the change would not be positive.

We're booked for a couple of weeks from now. My DH, 3 yo GS and me. PP will be closed. We're fairly new to traveling with a stroller again. We always toured commando style with our kids! I have a knee injury for a few years and this will be my first time in the parks without using a scooter, I don't want to kill myself but I'd like to have a plan that doesn't involve to much backtracking for EMM and to get the most of our time.

Can anyone help me with a plan/order that might work for EMM? Probably it would behoove to park and leave the stroller at our first stop. I'd love to do each thing twice except small world if that's possible. Any suggestions?
