MK/Fantasyland “Early Morning Magic” (EMM) FAQ & Discussion

We did EMM for the first time last summer. DH, who knew nothing about logistics, decided we should attempt to RD SM after EMM. I thought it was a risky move and immediately had heart palpitations because it wasn't part of our "original plan". Haha! We waited at the rope, and right at 9:00am, we got a tiny head start before the swarms, mobs, Black-Friday-times-infinity crowds were heading for us at full-blown, power-walking speeds! Sure enough, we were able to walk right in, wind our way through, and hop right on SM. Mind-blown! Totally do-able if you're heading that way after EMM! We are a party of 5 (2 adults, 3 young kiddos).

This is hysterical to me....we were the opposite, and the 4 of us (2 adults, 2 grade school daughters) were doing this power walk from Fantasyland to SM and my DH was NOT keeping pace and was sipping his coffee while he walked and we were screaming at him to keep up and he still to this day thinks we're all insane.

@GADisneyDad14 yea I may choose to call at 6:30 and if we are super early we could walk to Contemporary and get a snack I assume. We have a 2.5 year old and baby who will be almost 7 months but both of my children hate sleep so they’ll probably be up anyway

Guess it all depends on the day. We didn't quite get that advantage on our day. They stopped us right outside of Cosmic Rays and then had to walk behind cast members at rope drop. So we joined the swaths of people. Still had about a 15 min wait on a 30min.

It shows the dates in June but it says it’s not available and as far as I know they never have been available even though it’s showing up on the website. I don’t know about July though.

Like PP said, almost all the dates in June except 2 at the end have never been bookable. The July dates that are showing blue are bookable.

Irritating I know. Ive been waiting on June 7th forever. But it just means they are considering opening the parks at 8am, and if they do that no EMM. Hopefully they make the call soon. We have "backup" PPO BOG reservations set for that day just in case.

We are wanting June 4th and we have the PPO BOG as a backup as well! Will be interesting to see if they do open at 8. It seems like year after year they have been lessening the amount of early opens during our June trip.

well just found out they didn’t offer it in October this last year. Ugh.

they didn’t but they did show up as bookable at 180 days. We booked it and then I got a call sometime before our arrival saying they were really sorry that they had to cancel. They ended up giving me 3 extra FP’s (for ANY ride) for two straight days. IT actually worked out very well. I got refunded the $$ for 5 of us but gained 6 extra fp’s. So book it regardless if you think they will cancel it.

Great Tip. More research led me to find out it was because of star wars and the change in park hours because of it. I am hopeful they offer it.

I see the limited time Cinderella offering is supposed to have some special characters available? I was wondering if there would be photopass photographers there to take pics with the characters or is this more of a "ask a stranger" to take your pic.

Besides ofhe Princess Fairytale Hall, I didn't notice any but I wasn't really looking for photographers at the time.

I can't speak to the special Cinderella thing, but normally there are not PP photographers out in Fantasyland.
