Hi Disfriends!

I booked a hospitality suite at the CR yesterday for June of 2022, and while I'm very excited about this, I'm really hoping I can transition my cash booking to a two bedroom villa between now and June 2022. I know they are not available to book right now, which is why I booked the hospitality suite, but I'm hoping they will be before June of 2022. My DH, DS (20 at time of trip) and DS (18 at time of trip), and I are looking for a kitchen, two full bathrooms, laundry in the room, and three sleep surfaces. Now that our boys are getting older (and taller) the pull down bunks/daybeds/sleep chairs/sofas won't be as comfy as a queen sized bed. So, the hospitality suite meets all of the requirements except a separate queen bed for each boy and laundry facilities in the room. Hence, the desire to transition to a two bedroom. I want to stick with a cash booking and not rent points, as I want the flexibility that cash bookings provide.

My family wants to stay either in the MK area or at a resort that is walkable to both EP and HS. We also want a dedicated two bedroom, not a lock off option, because we want the queen sized beds instead of a queen and a pullout couch. A Poly bungalow is out of our budget, so I'm thinking our options for a dedicated two bedroom villa for cash are: GF, BLT, WL, or BC, correct?

With that being said, is a dedicated two bedroom villa for cash a booking category, or is it simply a request? If it isn't a cash booking category, what is the likelihood that I get a dedicated two bedroom with a request on my reservation? Is it more likely at one of the resorts lists above more than another? Any advice anyone has would be fantastic! Thank you so much!

I don't think I have ever seen a lockoff in the resort booking categories. Your best chance of getting what you want is through rental. You may want to ask this question on the DVC Board to see how realistic it is to wait for these to book for cash. BC, BLT, and GF might be the hardest.

FYI the earliest that DVC owners, including Disney, can reserve villas is 11 months before checkin date. So in July 2021, DVC owners can start booking for June 2022. Until then, you won’t see DVC villas on the Disney resort website. If you decide to rent from a private DVC owner, you can begin the process about a year before checkin so that they’ll be ready to make a reservation for you when the 11 month window opens. You’ll need someone who is an owner at the specific resort you want, because DVC members who don’t own that resort have to wait until 7 months out to book.

Adding the link to the DVC Resorts board, where you can ask your questions and gather a wealth of information. https://www.disboards.com/forums/dvc-resorts.187/

Ask this question on the DVC Resorts board - I always forget the answer to this question!

If you look on the WDW webpage for each resort, you will see which category you will get with a cash booking. Currently, all 2-bedrooms you list, except for VGF, are dedicated 2-bedrooms as cash bookings. VGF is listed a a lock-off. We always pay cash for villas and have never received a lock-off at BCV or CCV. RIV is also a dedicated 2-bedroom if that interests you at all. The only one I'd be concerned about, based on the current room description, is VGF as a cash booking, but the DVC thread folks probably have more insight on this.

Everyone, thank you so much! I'll copy my original post and put it on the DVC board. I was hesitant to post there first, because I do not want to rent points, but I'm glad to know folks might have more info over on that board. I'm always so grateful for the knowledge of Disboard folks!

Oh yes, lots of helpful people there so you can choose the right resort for your family!

Boulder Ridge and Copper Creek (both at WL) are not walkable to the MK. You need to take the boat or a bus to get to the MK.
