MK Crowds on a 3 vs 5 day

I'm trying to decide whether to do MK on Tues, May 6 or Weds, May 7. Touring plans ranks Tuesday as a 5 crowd (easyWDW ranks it recommended). For Weds, TP ranks it as a 3 (easyWDW has it as Most Recommended). The difference here is there is no MSEP on Wednesday. Since Wednesday seems to have the lowest potential crowds, I was targeting Wednesday.

The only problem is, this would mean that we would go to AK on Tuesday and then park hop to MK for MSEP. Since I wanted to FP MSEP, I would have to give up FP for AK so we'd have to go close to RD.

So my question is, is there really a big difference between a 5 & 3 projected crowds in MK. This would be our 2nd MK day (the first would be a Saturday, our 1st day AND an early ADR so no staying for MSEP on that day). This is my last big question mark on our trip! Our plans are "doable" either way but Tuesday seems to fit a little better in our plans.

I would not FP MSEP. You can catch a great view from anywhere really, especially over in frontierland. And even if you wanted to watch on mainstreet, just grab a seat 30-45 mins prior and grab a snack.

My thoughts:

AK - Tuesday AM - give up your FP's and use them for MK that night. If you get to AK early enough most of the rides should be walk ons at this time of the year.

MK - Tuesday PM - I wouldn't waste a FP for the MSEP either. It'll definitely be busier than AK so using the FP's for rides would be smart. I also second the idea to watch MSEP from Fronteirland. Alternatively, being on the curb across from the hub with your back to the castle is a great spot too and doesn't fill up fast. However, since there is no MSEP on the Wednesday this will increase crowds a bit but not by a noticeable amount.

MK - Wednesday AM - Great plan. The fact that it's the day before the EMH Morning will help lower crowds plus no MSEP that night will keep people away.

At this time of year the difference between a 3 and a 5 doesn't make a huge difference until later in the afternoon and into the evening. Go with some sort of a plan and you'll be in better shape than most people.

If we do AK then MK for MSEP, we probably won't have too much time in MK. I have 3 little ones so we'd probably leave right after the parade and they will need some break between the two parks. So even if I FP MSEP, I'll still have 2 more FP's and since we will have only about 3 hours there, that should be good enough. We also want to see Wishes / FW (and tink fly) that night so if we FP MSEP then we'll be in a decent enough spot for that show as well.

If we don't FP MSEP then will we still be able to get a good spot for the parade and a good spot for the fireworks.

One little problem - there is no electrical parade for Wed and thats why its a recommended day by Josh. I agree with the logic, but to go to MK and be in the evening without the parade is not OK with my kids :-)
