For those of you who has MK bridals, do you think it was worth the high cost? We have hired an Amazing photographer and I am afraid that we will be so disappointed in the out come.

Thoughts?

It's something of a crapshoot.... lots of couples get photos they like. We, however, are in the situation you described. So for us, the quality was nowhere near worth the cost. But for the people who get good photos, the cost is totally worth it.

The quality of my MK pics are nowhere near what Randy had to offer us. But, I don't regret them at all. We still got pics of us in our wedding attire in front of the castle. Some pics turned out awesome! It's true that its kinda hit or miss.

Wouldn't have missed it for the world !!!! To me the castle screams WDW, so it was a must. That being said, we had some good, some just so-so. However, how many 16 x 20's of us with the castle can I put in my house anyway ?? I had a couple that I loved and did enlarge and frame one. I think there have been some AWESOME ones done. Even people who didn't like there photos overall, I certainly found some worthy of enlarging (Carrie, yours too !).

It depends on what it means to you. To me, there wasn't a question. I would have loved the coach too, but couldn't justify the cost...though Amanda's are to die for and I still am sad we didn't have it.:guilty: .... but I am old and don't need all those perks !

Personally, the portraits aren't really about the quality. I think most would agree that the wedding pics are far better than that of the MK BP. My wedding pictures (Randy Chapman) were better. I did like my MK portraits, but only a couple of them were really nice. Is it really worth $1000 for a couple of nice pics, no. Is it worth $1000 for a couple of nice pics in front of the castle and to experience a wedding photoshoot in MK, yes it is.

I would look at other brides photoshoots to get an idea of what kinda pics are generally taken. That way you have an idea of how your pics may turn out.

When does everyone do the MK shoot, Before the wedding or after the wedding?

I thought about doing it the day of our wedding since we have to get ready for the wedding anyways, but I dont want my Fiance to see me in my dress until the wedding..

We did ours 2 days after the wedding. I didn't want Eric to see me before the wedding either and we knew we'd be too tired the next day to get up at 3:30 am :scared1:

Both!

Some people prefer to do it the day of so that they can pay for hair & makeup once and get everything over with in one shot.

Other people do it a few days after the wedding so they can sleep in a bit on the wedding day or, as you said, not see each other before the ceremony. Also, the hem of your dress gets very dirty at the shoot b/c the streets are wet, so if you do it before the wedding you'll have to be really careful.

After our shoot, I was pretty much wrecked the rest of the day - I couldn't keep my eyes open on my first trip to the MK in, like, 15 years! So that made me glad I hadn't done it before our wedding.

But if you want to do it all in one day, go for it! Just get lots of sleep the night before! :rotfl:

I only got 2 hours sleep before Ana arrived, did MK shoot at 6am, wedding at 10am, then to MGM for the day. We even stayed for EMH that night. I think I crashed about 22 hours later. I did sleep in the next day though !! It was an AWESOME day !!!!

We went ahead and booked it. I guess the experience is worth it even if you only get a few good pictures.

I totally agree with this. Being in the MK so early in the morning was a unique experience that I could have only had by doing the MK photo shoot. I wish I had been more awake that morning to enjoy it, but, still it was neat. The pictures in the end were just ok. We had a couple that were worth enlarging to 8x10, and one of them still hangs in our house. But none of the photos ever made me stop and go 'wow, what an awesome picture!'. Its totally the luck of the draw as to who you get as your photographer.

That said, if DH and I were getting married today, I don't know if I would pay the money for it. Being 4 years older, I think my priorities have changed a bit ;)

are the MK pictures only taken in the morning before the park opens? can you have pictures taken on the carousel?
