We need suggestions for dinner in the MK area. Our party includes 2 adults and 2 children (8 & 3). We already have:

Supercala Breakfast
Chef Mickey's - Dinner
Ohana - Breakfast
Cindy Royal Table - Dinner
Crystal Palace - Breakfast
Tony's Town Square - GG Breakfast :grouphug:

Right now I'm considering a 2nd visit to either Crystal Palace or Tony's Town Square. We're doing both of those for breakfast (Tony's as part of a Grand Gathering) so should we go back for dinner? I really don't want to duplicate, but am not sure of other restaurants that will make the kids happy at MK. :confused3

we really enjoy the Crystal Palace dinner buffet (DW, DD16, DS11 and me), but there is also Liberty Tree Tavern w/a decent family style (all you can eat table service) American fare menu (turkey, ham, roast beef). Haven't been in a number of years, but the Grand Floridian has the 1900 Park Fare had a pretty good assortment of food w/Mary Poppins and Wonderland characters.

Kona Cafe at the Poly would be a good one.

Perhaps The Wave at the Contemporary?

Either would give you a break from all of the character meals.

I hear Ohana's dinner is not to be missed. In fact, it was the hardest ADR for me to get for my upcoming trip (I got LeCellier and CRT with no problems.) We had to settle for a 8:50pm ADR at Ohana.

Do you want to stay at the MK for dinner? If not, are you planning to return after dinner?

I also suggest Kona Cafe or the Grand Floridian Cafe.:thumbsup2 Both restaurants are fabulous for dinner and would be a quick return to MK if you wanted to once dinner was over.

If you want to stay in the MK for dinner, I'd suggest Liberty Tree Tavern. We really enjoyed it for dinner. Only downside was that there wasn't any alcholic beverages. We were pooped at the end of the day and looking forward to a nice glass of wine with dinner. Turns out MK doesn't offer any alchohol. Either way though, dinner was delish!:goodvibes

Kona Cafe, Grand Floridain Cafe, or LTT. I haven't tried the Wave but that is an option too.

We love Liberty Tree Tavern and 'Ohana. 'Ohana was actually our absolute favorite meall of the week last year. LOVE it! Dessert is to die for and the coconut races and hula are really fun for the kids.

I was hoping to end the trip with something super fun for the kids so I really wanted characters. I'm stuck between crystal palace, chef mickey's and Ohana. All of which will be repeats (Crystal Palace and Ohana for breakfast and Mickey's for dinner). I believe they're all character meals.

Please help me decide...:worship:

Ohana dinner is not a character meal but it is good & your kids should enjoy it - there is usually some sort of entertainment going on like coconut races, hula lessons, limbo contests, etc. If you definitely want a character meal near MK, then the only one which would not be a repeat for you would be 1900 Park Fare @ the Grand Floridian.

Wow, not sure how I missed that! I thought we had all the character meals covred. I'm so excited!:yay: Now, hopfully I can get a res.:worship:

Do you think both my son and daughter will like it?

At those ages, I'm sure they will! My DD was 11 (almost 12) when we did Crystal Palace. Heck, she still enjoys character meals at the "cool" age of 15. :)

Thanks! 1900 Park Fare it is. Wahoo! I was able to get a res with no problem

Yes - the atmosphere is nice & the character interaction is the highlight @ 1900 Park Fare - you meet Cinderella, Prince Charming, Lady Tremaine & the two Stepsisters who by themselves are quite a riot! The food is average-at-best, but you should be satisfied enough & the rest of your experience should make up for what you find lacking (if anything) regarding the food.

1900 PF is a lot of fun - the family stays in char., like the step-sis. singing loudly in their awful voices. If your DD would enjoy dancing w/Cindy & the prince, ask when you check in to be in the main room where they dance. You may have to wait a little longer, but it was worth it for us. Cindy & prince come out to dance every 1/2-1hr., just take DD out to the middle, and she can dance around w/ them. My DD6 got to dance w/ Cindy(who she was dressed as) and got spun around by the prince-priceless! DD9 got asked by the step-sis. if he was wealthy, as they are looking for hubbys. We loved it!

I go with dinner at Ohana. Amazing. We took the kids in Jan and they (8, 11) loved it too.
