Mixed Review on ME

I'm still not sure how I feel about having used ME on our trip last week. Our flight arrived late (10pm), so there was no line or wait to board the bus. But, I was surprised that the video on the bus was the "South Park" cartoon and then "E (Entertainment)" with celebrity gossip and news on what celeb is on the latest drugs and the latest on Anna Nicole. I actually had to distract my DD from it because the content wasn't appropriate for her. I don't think it is an appropriate show and I don't allow it at home. I thought ME would at least have a Disney themed show on. Show us some clips of the parks, etc.

We stayed at CSR, but our ME had to stop at every All-Star before dropping us off at CSR. Since most of the people on the bus were All-Star people, this took quite some time.

It was nice not to have to worry about driving or where I was going. But, I wonder if a private car would have been better for us.

We did not have the experience of having them handle luggage since we only had carry-ons and handled it ourselves.

I thought the ME would have been a "magical" beginning to the trip...but the seedy shows on the monitor just blew that for me. :guilty:

It's really odd that you were made to watch television shows. We have always had the Disney movie. I am surprised that is what they showed. I haven't heard of this experience before. I've heard of people not having any video at all, but not regular television shows. Strange.

Sorry you had this experience, it really isn't typical.

Last year we didn't get any videos. Both going to POFQ and on the ride back to MCO 9 days later the driver was playing a local radio station over the speaker system. .

they're either rolling out or completely have rolled out buses with GPS systems that automatically start playing the DVD, so that should be a problem of the past. the videos have also been updated to promote the YOMD.

You might have commented to Guest Services about the seedy TV shows, racous disk jockeys, etc.

That's completely unacceptable.

That driver needs to be reported. If you have not already reported your experience to Guest Services, please do so for the sake of future DME guests. Provide as much information as possible about your departure time and your motorcoach so that they can identify particular motorcoach run and driver. See https://secure.disney.go.com/wdw/contact/contactUs

Mears (the company that operates the DME motorcoaches) and Disney need to take appropriate action.

I also think Disney needs to have more "secret passengers" riding on DME motorcoaches. DME provides the first and last impression for many WDW vacations, and Disney needs to make sure that Mears is always providing the quality of service that the contract calls for.

The drivers should not even be showing G-rated Disney or non-Disney movies due to copyright. And they certainly shouldn't be showing TV-MA television programs.

The drivers should show the official WDW-DME arrival and departure DVD with the volume at the right level. Period.

OMG! I'm not happy to hear about South Park on the bus! Please!
We had an experience like that a fwe years ago when we flew home from Orlando on ATA airlines. They had an episone of Family Guy and Friends where the topic was fertility and sex and sperm etc... I could see if this was a flight from
Las Vegas filled with mostly adults, but this flight was from Orlando with mostly children!!
Most kids love to wear the headphones and watch tv on planes and we couldn't let our kids watch at all.

i'm personally amazed by the apparent fact that noone even said anything to the driver at the time.

I have located the email address to send a note to Disney, and have done so.

I did notice that on the way back to MCO from CSR, the Disney video (featuring YOAMD) did come on automaticlaly and it said that we were a certain distance from the airport, so I kind of assumed that something triggered it (GPS).

It wasn't a good start at all...and I'm glad our vacation improved after that.

BradK, nobody said anything. I distracted my daughter with conversation and watching out the window for signs of Disney. I noticed that some other parents were sitting in silence, reclined in their seats and intently watching the shows with their children. Maybe this is what they do at home, so it is not a big deal.
