Mississauga to Buffalo Airport....which border crossing should we use? We will be crossing on a Monday during March Break at about 4:30pm-5:30pm. Thanks! Sandra

I would use the Peace Bridge in Fort Erie.....the airport is very easy to get to and doesn't take a long time either.:)

Kind of "six of one, half dozen other". Really just about the same if you know where you're going. The difference would be the 75¢ toll for the Grand Island bridge on the American side.

When we went in Aug. we just played by ear. There is an 1 800 number that has up to date traffic/ wait times . Took our cell and called just before Queenston/Lewiston. Ended up taking the Peace bridge which had the shortest wait on a Sat. morning.

I prefer the Peace Bridge. You're right on the highway and it's well marked which way to the airport. I find Niagara Falls NY not well marked as to how to get to the highway.

I used to use the Queenston bridge, but then I determined Fort Erie usually had shorter lineups (95% of the time). Check with www.gc.ca on your cell phone (wait times are updated every hour, usually at the top of the hour). The Fort Erie crossing is also slightly shorter.

Peace Bridge every time.
Definitley the quietest and easiest to get through customs

Peace Bridge!

And if time allows, you can stop in at the Walden Galleria Mall!

I have used the Rainbow Bridge in Niagara Falls 3 times in the last 8 months and had a short wait all times. The only problem is the Duty Free shop. If you are looking at buying before hand use the Peace Bridge at Fort Erie. The one in Niagara Falls is small and not a huge selection.

We always use the Queenston-Lewiston bridge. Never had any problems whatsoever. :)

Ditto.

Glad this thread cleared things up for you !;) Just kidding.

Looks like your best bet is to call ahead and go from there.

I used to use Queenstown/Lewiston exclusively. The last two trips to Buffalo, however, I experienced waits of 3 hours(!) and 1 hour. The problem is, you can't see how long the wait is until you're committed. Once you're in, there's no turning around.

I won't be using that bridge again for a looooong time. Rainbow Bridge FTW. It's been recently renovated, so there's lots more slots.

Can someone please post the 800 number, I tried the www.gc.ca site but fail to find it.

Thanks

You won't find the 1-800 number at www.gc.ca. The 1-800 number goes to the Niagara Bridge Commission. www.gc.ca, obviously, is the government of canada web site (however, if you have internet browsing on your phone, the www.gc.ca works well).

http://www.niagarafallsbridges.com/ - is the link to the Niagara Falls bridge commission.

The Niagara Bridge Commission's 1-800 number does not work from the USA (or at least it doesn't on my Bell phone).

I know what you mean. with the removal of the exit that used to be immediately before the Canada duty free store, you now only see the lineup once it's too late to turn back. This is when I started checking the bridge crossing info before I left home, or enroute on my cell phone.

Here's two additonal links for bridge crossing wait times:
