Mission Space and Motion Sickness

I hate to tell you this but if Star Tours makes you sick, Mission Space will probably do the same. I have moderate to severe motion sickness and MS made me feel sick as a dog. Didn't truely feel right til the next day. Star Tours makes me nauseous, but not usually severely. You may be okay, not everyone with motion sickness reacts the same way to MS. I've seen it trigger problems with people who don't get motion sickness, and others who do ride it successfully. If spinning rides make you sick then I think that MS would more likely get you sick. If you ride I suggest you take whatever medication works for you(dramamine, bonine, etc...) and follow the instructions religiously-keep you head back and look straight ahead. I'd also try it later in the day, both myself and others have been sick for the remainder of the day after riding it, which is NOT usual for me with motion sickness. Try eating something a few hours before, both empty stomachs and very heavy meals can aggravate motion sickness. I'm going to try MS one more time, this time I'll premedicate and say a prayer to whatever gods are listening. I really like MS too, I'm a thrill ride junkie and it's a heckof a ride.

I have no experience but I do feel sick on Star Tours and Body wars, can't do the tea cups, either. I may or may not be fine on M:S but I'm too nervous to take a chance. I'd love to try it but the nagging feeling that I have will keep me from it.

I don't get motion sickness...ever...on anything...so I can't comment on that aspect either way. However, I do want to give a heads-up about asthma. My dad's the same as me, complete cast-iron stomach. So we were both looking forward to this ride. But he has asthma, and while he loved the ride, he said that the pressure in his chest during lift-off nearly triggered an asthma attack. He says he'll do it again, probably every time we go, but only once per trip. For my dad, the "let's ride it 20 times in a row just cause we can" type person, it must have been pretty uncomfortable for him to limit it to once per visit. Great ride though!!

So have any of you tried MS after taking a motion sickness medication, and DID It WORK? I will definately be traveling with my tablets, but I am getting a little nervous now even with meds!

I tend to get car sick and motion sick on spinning rides especially if its closed in with only a small window with scenery flashing by. In fact strobe lights make me ill ( GO figure) but... MS did not bother me. We had read all about it on this board before going. I had purchased some ginger flavored chewing gum that sea bands puts out for my youngest who really gets motion sick. She did not ride but the rest of us popped a half a piece of gum into our mouths before riding. My husband still got queasy but not for long. I was fine. I don't know if it was becasue I let the gum dissolve slowly under my tongue instead of chewing it ( I was a little nervous that I wold swallow it on the ride). My oldest daughter had no problem on the ride either! So its really hard to tell how anyone will react. :confused3

I get queasy on some rides so I did Pre-medicate with a bonine. I did fine! I felt a little bit funny afterwards, (tiny, tiny, tiny bit queasy), but it passed within 10 minutes or so and I was fine. DD12, DS9 and DH all rode it without any problems and they did NOT take any anything.

I've not tried the ride without the bonine so I don't know how I would have felt un-medicated but medicated worked for me so that's the way I'll do it from now on! The bonine did not affect me in any other way by the way, I wasn't sleepy or thirsty or any of those side effects people have mentioned.

I must mention(althought this is a different ride altogether) that I did get queasy on TOT!Didn't take any bonine that day as I didn't think this ride would bother me. I LOVED the ride but apparently my stomach couldn't keep up with the ups and downs and I was kind of queasy afterwards. Nobody here had ever mentioned it so I wasn't prepared for that to happen. I definitely want to ride TOT again so next time I'll take a bonine that day too.

I get motion sickness on most rides. I could hardly walk after we got off of the Tea Cups and was sick all day. DH never gets motion sick. He rides everything.

So last May I got up the courage to try it. Well I had no problem whatsoever. However DH was really, really sick. He had to sit down with his head between his legs and he did throw up. So that goes to show, you never know.
