Mission Impossible II-Updated p.15 #212~ The last day of our mini surprise trip.

one time son#2 burned his feet really bad with hot water with bleach(cleaning a floor at the pizza joint). they gave him some really good drugs at the ER. someone had hung their dark coat over an oxygen tank, just outside his "cubicle".
he went from screaming in pain to... "mom,,, cool... look.. it's the grim reaper, coming to get me.... cool"

Yikes for your poor baby, Smidgy, but LOL!:rotfl:

:surfweb: popcorn:: waiting to hear more!!!

(but I accidentally posted it on the "fishy" thread)

We were now in line waiting for our bus after leaving Magic Kingdom. As luck would have it one pulled away as we reached the line. And it took about 30 minutes for another to show up.

Out of the element the kids calmed down and I had some time to think. I remembered the card the CM handed me when checking in. It had a phone number on it to call for our room assignment. I called to get the number and inquire if our luggage was delivered. We would be needing warm clothes. The kids were wet, tired, and cranky, and well, so were the parents.
I called back because I remembered our garden grocer delivery as well. I asked if they could bring it to our room, that we were on our way from Magic Kindgdom and we’d be there very shortly.

We got back to the room, everything was there waiting for us. The fridge, the groceries, the luggage, AND the stuff we left for luggage services to hold for us before we left for the park. This trip I discovered just how wonderful luggage services can be.

Here's some candids of what we saw when we walked in:

After showers were taken, jammies put on, and a snack to ease of pain of leaving the park, I had a mound of wet clothes in one of the tubs. Heavy, drenched, dripping park clothes. I thought of just throwing them in a bag and dealing with them when I got home, but immediately dismissed that.

For all obvious reasons. EWWWW right?

I was gonna have to suck it up, wake up before the family at about 6am and drop a fortune in the washers and dryers.

We were going to Typhoon lagoon the next day and the park opens at 10AM. That would work.

There were other things that got wet that we had to deal with and this was one of them:
Day1AirportandMagicKingdom039.jpg

Our shoes were soaked too, and the plan was to throw them in a dryer in the morning. But would I?

I really liked the rooms. I read that they recently upgraded all of their rooms at All Star Sports. The carpets were spotless, and the bed covers were new. I loved that we had 2 bathrooms. And I thought the huge headboards between the two beds was very cool.

Renting two rooms at a value is cheaper than renting one room at Riverside. Plus you get 4 actual beds that way.

We get a lot more space, 2 tv's, and the kids kinda feel like they have their own space. So do the parents.

Up Next: walking around the resort while EVERYone else is sleeping!

We're going to have to consider the 2 rooms at a value next time. Our kids (adults, sort of) take forever to get ready. 2 bathrooms would be a big bonus.

Thanks for the update. Sorry about the sog. When we went to PA for a Dis meet in August, CrossFamily took a picture of me wringing out my socks and pouring water from my shoes.

If you think it's pushy of me to put my picture on your trippy, pm me and I'll toss it. I'm just too lazy to do my own TR.;)

Yikes, Mony, I feel soaked and tired for you :faint: Glad you liked your rooms.

Thank you so much for your insights, you made me realize I am not emphasizing the fun we had. We did have lots of fun! Honest! and it's all coming up very soon.

Even though Zack was in a puddle up past his ankels, he did have a smile on his face when I snapped the picture.

Marita: Take a nap for me. You can on your flight to Germany.

nomatter how many times you stay at WDW, and how many resorts, first arrival at your room is still thrilling! :yay:

You are so right Diane. We were so wet and tired and just ready to call it a night and the rooms were so purdy and dry!!!! We were tickled to be finally in our room.

I miss it already.

But, just look at that pretty little ticker down there!!!!

Tim's biopsy report came back benign!!!

So many of you have been so wonderful to offer prayers and thoughts for us and I can't thank you all enough.

I am just so grateful.

I hope now that we can relax and put this all behind us.

He does have to see the Oncologist next week to get his take on the matter.

Today was just getting the results from the surgeon.

Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Monica that is such wonderful news. I know I'm late in responding to this but I have been away from the boards so I'm trying to catch up with all of subscriptions one day at a time. Anyway I just wanted to add that I too would have been crying leaving MK but as a mother you did the right thing as hard as it was.

Hey Monica,

Any further updates on Tim?? Hope all is well and that he is feeling 100%.

The days are speeding by till the December trip..

As far as I know with all things considered, he is good and just in the watching stage. Thanks again for asking.

The girls are in bed, I spent a lot of time on homework these last few nights, so, I'm gonna write some more and hopefully post tonight or tomorrow. Hopefully a few of you are still around.:goodvibes

My kids were all properly showered, meaning they used soap, dried off, got into their sleeping clothes and teeth were brushed with tootpaste for at least a minute or two.

Do you know how many times we've caught them either pretending to shower, or just standing in the water stream, not using soap, or running the water so it sounds like they are brushing their teeth? I've spied on the boys and watched one just sing and dance in the mirror and tasting the tooth paste so if I did ask for proof, it was on his breath. AM I ALONE WITH THIS MADNESS????

They pretty much passed out and I had a few moments to myself. I thought about unpacking and deciding to ditch that idea because we were only here for a few days. Besides, I packed using zip-locks, duh. Just toss them a bag in the morning and be done with it.

I don't think it had anything to do with the fact that I was just as tired and exhausted as the rest of them.

I finally showered and went to bed, the whole gang was sleeping. Maddy wasn’t sleeping through the night at this point and I do remember her just waking enough for me to get out of bed and help her find her pacifier.

The night was uneventful, except for a few toilets being flushed. My alarm rudely woke me up at 6AM as I asked it to.

I brought a coffee pot, because I NEED my coffee in the morning. Brewed up a pot, and headed to the laundry room with a book I've been meaning to read. The sun wasn’t even up yet and I wondered around all by myself to the laundry room by the Surf’s Up Pool. I took these photos:

This was right outside our door. Donald's mad at the nephews cause he wants to play tennis and they are playing baseball on the tennis court. Cute.

The CM was cleaning it I guess, and I had it all to myself I said hello, but I didn’t get anything in return which was unusual. I washed everything and was using the dryers when the others started to file in.

I kinda kidded myself and thought things like: Should have set your alarm for 6AM like I did. Ha Ha I was here first. Silly stuff.

I wanted to throw the shoes in the dryer but there was a sign, very visibly posted next to the dryers that said: Do not put shoes in the dryer of ANY kind to save on the wear and tear of the machines.

Something like that.

So I did not put the shoes in the dryer and figured I would work something out later. We were headed to the water park and we all had water shoes to wear.

Do you think the others paid any attention to that sign?

Nope.

Several machines were spinning with shoes.

And you know what happened?

Those machines were left unattended and the shoes would cause the doors to open and shoes would fall out.

Sigh.

I picked up the shoes, put them back in, closed the doors, AND pushed the start button to turn it back on.

Several times.

After my clothes were finished drying, they were on their own.

I left the cozy, air conditioned laundry facility. that was now crowed, and was choked by the heat and humidity. OY! Good thing we are headed to a water park.

When I returned to our room the rest of the fam was up and fed. Good job honey.

I placed the wet shoes on the window sills. It was the best idea I could come up with. They had the whole day in the sun to dry. Would they dry? I’ll let you know.

I finished getting ready and made sure I had all the essentials including but not limited to: water, juice, formula, snacks, sun screen, etc.

Made sure the first coat of sun screen was applied to everyone and assigned each person something to carry.

The girls loaded themselves into the stroller which amazingly dried over night. I swear that thing rocked. We discovered the huge sunshade in the packaging that would have been really handy last night in the rain and added that to the stroller. This thing kept getting better and better.

I warned them all of the sun and humidity they were about to expose themselves to and we were off!

There wasn’t a cloud in the sky and Tim said the weather forcaste was perfect for a day at Typhoon Lagoon.

Today’s plans are to spend the whole day at Typhoon Lagoon and then head back to the room to get ready for one of our favorite dinners. 1900 Park Fare. We had reservations at 7pm.

We’ve been to Blizzard Beach, but not Typhoon Lagoon. The boys were pretty excited and couldn’t wait for Crush N’ Gusher.

I read up that there was a really nice kid area Ketchakiddee Creek and my plan was to find a place to set up camp over there. We were on a way by 9am which gave us an hour before the park opened. Things were finally working in our favor.

Coming Up: Embarrassing my boys, body surfing, and truly an amazing day!

I just found your trip report today and read the whole thing. Now I want to go back and read your other one.

You made me laugh about the bath and toothpaste. I tell my son to go take a bath with soap and wash his whole body. I also tell him to brush his teeth with toothpaste. My daughter is sixteen and she told me that when she was little she would just soap up a little area on her arm. She said I would ask her if she used soap and I would always smell her arm in the same place so that is where she would use soap. She said this is what she did when she was in a hurry. I thought I knew all the tricks.:rotfl2:

I would have cried my eyes out if it rained on my only Magic Kingdom day. I am glad you get to go back in December.
Laura

Oh, the Crush 'n gusher! Do they still have the fruit growing around it? I thought it was really clever theming that it's supposed to be a fruit canning operation, and there were pineapples and bananas growing around it.

Thanks for the update.

Hi Laura!

Bill Cosby, my favorite comedian, did a skit on this very subject which Tim and I had the chance to see live. But it's not funny anymore now that it's happening to me.

Welcome and thanks for reading.

You know, I don't even know if they do. I was noticing that it was a fruit something operation because of the equipment, but I didn't notice anything real growing. Would it have been the time of year that we were there? I don't know.

But good point!

Well I managed to keep 2 readers. Fantastic!:rotfl:

ROFLOL! I have 4 kids and I have had the no toothpaste, wet tooth brush, no soap in the shower, even just wetting their hair, so NO you are not alone! I actually use my fingernail and scrape the kids teeth to see if the plaque is gone LOL LOL.

We were there in August 2006, and the bananas and pineapple were growing. But I did not have young children with me, so I was free to look at the shrubbery.
