Mission Accomplished~Now A Trip Report~Day 10~A BRIEF CONCLUSION~

lexmelinda & WDW Poly Princess:Sorry, but I have to do this in order. It's coming! I promise very soon.

Backstage_Gal: Fun it was. I'm glad you agree.

We wake up on Thursday and are just smiling. DD2 is in between us. Sleeping. Finally. Rough night. We have those silly goofy grins. We hear Xbox in the back ground and know the boys are awake.

I head down and make some coffee. Tim puts on the TV for DD2 who is slowly waking up. We tell her today is the day and she says, “Don’t tell brothers”…this girl knows!

DH eventually heads down for his morning cup. I’m on my second.

When you gonna load the car?

Soon he says.

I head down to DIS one last time. I hear him upstairs and know what he’s doing. I can tell by his walk, foot steps, strides. Where the footsteps have been and where they are going.

He’s about to pack the back of the mini van. He comes down to tell me he’s going to do it. DD2 comes down and asks for breakfast. I feed her. Peak in on DH and head back down to DIS some more.

I know it’s coming and I’m just waiting for it. I give him 10 minutes. It happens.

I can’t make it work he says.

I say I’ll try.

I get dressed and go out rearranged a few things and it works. Imagine.

Everything is in the back of the van. The stroller is on top of the suitcases. Suitcases are hidden. Just the duffle is up by us. A family needs a duffle when they spend the night at a hotel. Back packs are up front. If they ask, just a few things to keep them busy.

I announce to the boys they need to eat and get dressed we’ll be leaving soon. There wasn't much left in the fridge and so we said we'd stop and get something.

I get on the tread mill. I’ve been doing that for the last 2 weeks. Whew! Thanks to my skinny Minnie friends.

Take my shower. Get dressed. He’s locked everything up and we are ready! Ready to go get Nanee for the airport.

We needed a reason to allow the kids to see their grandmother bring her luggage to the car. So we came up with the angle of saying we are picking up Nanee and taking her to the airport.

Which was true by the way.

Nanee is amazingly ready. She’s usually late. Very late. Hours late. But today she was ready. I am very surprised by this. I did give her the heads up phone call. We are on our way, gonna make a stop. Should be there in 45 minutes. Which means have your bags and butt at the curb! Just kidding. Tim did help her bring her luggage out of the house. While he pushed her into the car. Maybe.

We load her up. We pushed and shoved, rolled our eyes at each other, and sucked in our guts, when everything fit, we closed the door and prayed nothing would spill out.

Did you know that after Noon on Thanksgiving, there is nothing open along the lines of fast food? True! So, we stopped at Walgreens and purchased snacks for lunch. My kids are so loving this. They picked chips, chocolate milk, Hawaiian punch, and combos. Mal got a little cracker and cheese snack pack. And she was tickled. Tim, a variety of Ho-Ho’s and cherry pies. Me, I had a handful of combos. I swear. Maybe a pringle or two and an iced tea.

I headed us in the direction of the airport.

I love the airport. I love the planes, which if you time them right, that will fly right over your car before landing. It’s such a rush.

And it's like a game. "Come on mom", my kids cheer, "get under it. Go faster mom!" And I oblige.

We get to the hotel and check in. We stayed at The Hilton because of their suites. We wanted all of us to be together so we chose this place. It was nice and comfy. At least for the kids and my mom. Tim and I slept on the pull out couch. All night the bar jabbed into my side and we kept slidding into each other. Oh, well, I don’t suppose had that bed been comfortable we would have slept anymore due to our excitement.

We are getting hungry for dinner and head to the restaurant. Now it starts. Special ordering for my son. He’s allergic to eggs and peanuts. I have to explain his allergy and ask what they have to accommodate him. It’s a process. The checking and reading of labels and making sure everything is ok.

As usual he gets a hamburger and French fries. Other son gets chicken strips, I have a nice cob salad, thanks to my diet friends, DH enjoys a huge hamburger on a kiaser, and Nanee is the only one who orders the Thanksgiving feast.

We all bring some of our dinner back. The portions were huge. Getting us ready for Disney. Good, now we all have something to eat for breakfast.

Who cares. We are on vacation. And I am not cooking! Plus there's no time for chow in the am before the plane leaves. That's reasonablly priced. Airport food is shy high. Getting us ready for Disney.

The kids stay up some more, we did not get to use the pool. Some bozo left the door ajar in the swimming area to the outside and it had to be under 50 degrees in there. Sorry! I don’t need popsicles for kids. Plus I was not getting in an ice cold pool.

They finally go to bed. And we wait. We listen. They are asleep.

Tim goes and gets the car. He pulls it to the front. Unloads the suitcases. We bring them to the front lobby and I get a luggage cart. He takes the car to the lot for the weeks parking that was including with our stay. I take the luggage to the room. In the morning we drop the surprise. :teeth:

Oh my goodness!!! I can hardly wait to hear what comes next! :Pinkbounc I hope it's soon! Like I have any room to talk. I haven't posted my first installment yet. I need to get to work! :rolleyes1

The Trip Report Begins!
We do the last minute packing thingy. What a joke that was. Who came up with the phrase Last Minute? We spent hours in our room doing the last minute stuff.
:lmao: :lmao: You have me in stitches already!! Great start!! PLEASE keep it coming!! :)

jaycns: I've been wanting to say this but those penguins in your siggy always gives me a good laugh. I just love it! Thanks for still hanging in there.

Disneyfreak92: I'm sad we didn't get to meet up. Excited to see how your trip turned out.

Ok, off to create the one part you all are waiting for!

Good job, girlfriend! Just waiting on the big reveal! :sunny:

Alright, you hung in there, and I am very appreciative of it. So, without waiting any longer, here's the surprise.

When 5 am came we really weren’t sleeping. The alarm went off and I hit the shower.

Waited for Tim to get ready and we wake up the kids. They are tired and don’t really wanna get up. Not used to getting up at 5 am. So, the TV goes on and they are still in the bed. I make sure my mom is up and Mal is in the room with us. I have my cameras.

The video one and the digital one.

The night before the kids asked what their weekend was going to be like since we didn’t get to celebrate Thanksgiving. What is with these kids?

What are they expecting, a trip to Disney World?

They always hated Thanksgiving. They would rather eat hog dogs than turkey any day of the week. I remember countless Thanksgiving when they ate chicken nuggets!

I think Zack is mad over getting ripped off on the desserts. But, I forgot to tell you my mom did bake a pumpkin pie and she did bring it to the hotel. We did have pie that night. And some did have it again for breakfast. But not me. I don’t like pumpkin pie.

So, we told them that we’d think long and hard and come up with something special for them to do.

Wow, they were making this so easy.

I can’t figure the video thingy out to post here for you to see. Ok, I haven’t even tried. So you’ll have to just read what happened.

I give Tim the look, I’m ready. He says:

“Mommy, and I were talking last night and we came up with something very special for us to do.” He opens up some papers, boarding passes, and hands them to each boy.

They know what those are. Their dad travels tons! He’s always printing them before he leaves.

“Your gonna need these when you get on a plane in 2 hours.”

“Huh?” They look at him puzzled.

“In two hours you are getting on an airplane and you are going to Disney World for a whole week!!!!”

In unison, they both toss the papers back to Tim and say, “Ya right.”

“NOOOOOO!” We shout. “It’s true. The whole family is going to Disney World.”

I envisioned confetti being dropped from the ceiling. And balloons, and a bunch of people surrounding us clapping and cheering and waving and giving my family the thumbs up. Some announcer dude saying, "That's rights Matt and Zach your family is going to Disney World!", but I just couldn't pull that off.

I can’t remember who, but one says,

“There’s just one problem, we don’t have any of our stuff.”

What a smarty pants!

I yank them out of bed, drag them over to the other room and show them all the suit cases ready to go. Actually I lead them, but boy did I want too.

At first I believe that they were shocked.

Didn’t see it coming. Totally fooled. Then it starts to sink in. They are catching on.

Trust me they are bright kids.

Now they start to believe. Arms get raised. Faces light up. Woo Hoos and Yee Haws are said. I’m crying cause I cry at everything. Maybe that’s why I don’t want to show you the video. I’m a big sap.

I can’t believe you didn’t tell us! They are sharing their excitement back and forth. Then I ask Mal where we are going. I tell her now its ok to say it.

She says, “We’re going to see my castle!”

I was so emotional and I wasn’t counting on it, there was no jumping. But there were tears and hugs and I’ll take those kind any day.

Zach now is sitting at the couch and he looks at me and says, Mom my whole body is shaking. That my child is because you are excited. He’s feeling the magic!

That’s how I felt when I found the code that saved us $800 big ones!

I never saw 2 boys get dressed, eat breakfast, brush their teeth so fast in all of my life. Without me asking, ok shouting at them several times.

And then I wait for the phrase. I ask, what do you say to me? They smile, they know.

“Thanks mom, you’re the best mom. You’re the Queen of all Queens, and you smell pretty!”

Dad got hugs too.

Great Surprise for the kids...I don't know if I could hold out that long. I am so glad I just found your trip report and I did not have to wait so long for the surprise.:cool1:

Can't wait to hear the rest.

Woohoo, the surprise was great - I lov how the kids handed the boarding passes back, not believing. :rotfl:

Can't wait to hear about the flight and your arrival, your little 2 year old is so sweet 'my castle' :lovestruc

Oh, I love it!!! :teeth: Well worth the wait! Good for you for keeping that secret all that time. You made some very special magic for those boys! And if it were me, I would have cried too. I'm the same way. So don't be afraid to show that video if you can figure it out. I haven't tried to figure it out yet either, but if I do, I'll let you know. :rotfl:

I'm sad we didn't get to meet up too! But who knows...there will be more trips. Maybe someday. And until then, we have the Dis! :goodvibes

Great job so far! Can't wait for more! :cheer2:

:lmao: Stop it! It hurts when I belly laugh! And picturing those kids shocked out of their socks is just hilarious! You tell them, you show them and still they don't believe you! They had no clue! I'd say mission perfectly accomplished, secret agent mom. What a great job you did - and you smell pretty! :rotfl2:
It was a story worth waiting for. I would have been crying too. Hope the rest of your trip was just as fun!
BTW, I gotta give your mom a little standing O too. Only a gramma would bake a pumpkin pie and take it on the road. I say - God bless her for that! ;)

ok so now i am crying after reading your big reveal. Love the hormones. Can't wait to hear more!!!! :woohoo:

That was AWESOME!!!!! You did it!
I just got back and am starting to catch up on things - what a nice surprise to read about your surprise :goodvibes

Looking forward to the trip :wizard:

I love it! Glad to see a surprise that actually worked out and made everyone happy!! Last year we were supposed to leave for WDW on Sunday. We were totally ready to go by 2:00 Saturday so we decided we'd leave then, drive most of the way, and have an extra half-day at WDW. Well, you'd have thought we told our kids the were going to jail. Tears, whining, ... unbelievable! Now we just laugh about it and know that they don't do well with surprises -- even a little one like that!

Can't wait to read about your time at WDW! popcorn::

HMHunters: With my sons anxiety I was worried something like that might go reverse for us. But not this time. Sometimes change isn't a good thing for him.

mousebit: You know they say laughter is the best medicine. And you need so much of it. I wish I could sprinkle some pixie dust over you. What I don't understand, why didn't my mom make me her awesome apple pie. You think after 35 years she'd know I don't like pumpkin. I think she and the 8 year old are in cahoots.

Cass: I can't believe I just found this report now!

Woohoo, the surprise was great - I lov how the kids handed the boarding passes back, not believing.

Can't wait to hear about the flight and your arrival, your little 2 year old is so sweet 'my castle'

Sometimes she's sweet and sometimes she's sour!

loralie & amy2girls: Thanks for coming over and reading. I cried reliving it while writing. But those are happy tears right?

Disneyfreak92 and PrincessV: You gots lots to do, start writing. I want to know!

That's so sweet! What an awesome secret agent you are! I'm a big sap too, ya know, so I could totally relate to the tearful reveal. Great job, Monica! :thumbsup2

At least I can do the picture thingy. And I added some. The rest will have photos so you won't have to check back.

I did try the video. Our puter doesn't play video. :sad2:

Oh that is awesome! I loved reading about your suprise! One week from tonight we are telling our kids! I have kept the secret since we had 302 days to go, now only 8 more!!

Can't wait for the rest of your report!

Allyson

Monica, how awesome. What fun that must have been!
