Mission Accomplished~Now A Trip Report~Day 10~A BRIEF CONCLUSION~

Hi everyone!!!!

I am currently working on more. It's just busy here. I'm the biggest procastronater when it comes to christmas shopping and this year I got some wild idea about being crafty. :confused3

So, I'll probably have time right after christmas to complete another installment.

Merry Christmas to everyone and thanks for sticking with me on this.

HO HO HO!!!

Can you imagine what it would be like to wake up on your birthday and be in WDW?

Watching my son, truly smile, take in all the birthday wishes he got, and all the extra attention was just what I imagined it would be for him and then some.

The night before the boys slept in their Grandma’s room. They shared a bed. Good planning on my part so I could decorate and lay out the gifts.

Plus I got a whole bed to myself! So did Tim.

I wake up Matt. Zach was already in our room checking things out. His radar alert was in full effect.

Matt comes in a sees the banner, balloons and the gifts.

Disney2006124matt.jpg

Some of these cards have Zach’s and Mal’s name on them.

Their aunt, my mom’s sister, gave them their Christmas presents early and gave them all Disney gift cards. Wasn’t that just great?

Matt opened up a new star wars light saber, Disney dollars, and Disney gift cards. The wheels were turning and the endless question of the day started, “Can I buy something?”

Today was Magic Kingdom day. I love this park. I could go to it everyday for the whole week. I mean it. I absolutely love The Magic Kingdom.

We get there a little later than I wanted to.

Who knew that they make you park 1 ½ MILES away from the park? :confused3

You have to park somewhat near the Ticket and Transportation Center, board the monorail and then ride that to get to the park.

Our first stop was the barber shop. I found out about getting your kids haircuts there from the dis and I let their hair grow out just for this.

Two weeks before I almost caved and gave them haircuts at home because I hate shaggy hair. Hate it! They talked me into letting their hair grow out over the summer. It drove me bananas. Right before pictures I cut it. I had my limit. Never again.

I was feeling like a bad mom for allowing them to go to school looking like that. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. I just don’t like it on MY kids.

Not only did they get their hair cut, but a blue gel was applied and a ton of pixie dust. All I kept thinking was how am I going to get that out later?

They thought they were the bomb! That’s all that mattered.

Disney2006131.jpg

While waiting for Matt and Zach to finish there were a few families waiting and I did ask a mom if she was a diser because of her lime green shirt. She didn’t know what I was talking about. But her sister who did all the planning was. I’m sorry I was too shy to ask you your name. If you remember my two boys getting their haircuts before your son’s and nephews Hi!:wave2:

Before they were finished I took Mal for a stroll around the corner where Main Street really begins. I wanted her to see her castle. I can kick myself now because I wasn’t prepared to capture the moment, but that’s what paper is for.

She was getting antsy waiting for brothers, so we started just walking around, but then all the characters were let loose in the circle and the lines were instantly long and that made her temperament worse. Yes, she does turn into Crabby Patty on a day to day basis. She didn’t want her juice cup, I forgot the ninny, all I had left was the castle.

We turn the corner and Main Street was busy. I pointed in the direction I wanted her to look and she paused. I wasn’t sure if she focused on it yet. Then I crouched down next to her and her eyes became huge. She tried to get up out of the stroller and she said, “I better go get my dress on!” She knew her Cinderella dress was back at the room. I redirected that meltdown with were going to walk through the castle Mal! Let’s go get daddy and brothers and Grandma.

We head down mainstreet and it’s decorated and looking festive. More photopass opportunities. My goal was to get as many taken as I could. I was buying that CD after all.

We have a tradition. When we go to MK our first ride is Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin. My family is very competitive. We argue over whose going to keep the baby in their car cause that wouldn’t be fair. Hey Grandma, wanna take Mal with you in your car? He He He.

If we had Magic Kingdom for a day, I’d have my family ride this ride with each of us in our own car many times over, with a CM keeping track of the points. Actually I don’t need the MK to myself. Just this ride.

Who won each time? Me. I rock. 397 bazillion points. (Actually it was 397,000) Malorie got 300. Not bad for a first timer.

I know Tim hates that! He He He.

We rode Buzz twice. (Did you know that’s Zzub spelled backwards?)

Time for Space Mt. Tim and Zach rode it while the rest of us rode the TTA. Much more my pace. We actually timed it where we saw them getting on their car. That was cool. When Tim and Zach joined us we rode the TTA again.

Disney2006137.jpg

The boys got their first souvenirs, their faces put in a Star Wars picture.

Mal fell asleep so the boys got to ride the Tomorrowland Indy Speedway all by themselves. Yes they were big shots.

We went over to Mickey’s Toontown Fair so the boys could ride The Barnstormer and they did several times. It’s really great that these rides were practically walk-ons. And you’ll see that’s pretty much how things went for the rest of the trip. Very little waits.

Mal woke up so while they rode the Barnstormer she got to see Minnie and Mickey’s house.

Disney2006098.jpg

I planned it that we’d eat at Pinocchio Village Haus for lunch. He head over there. They were busy, but I’ve seen places a lot worse at other times of the year. It’s before 1pm. I’m not going to get upset over people wanting to eat at a universal lunch time. I only waited about 10 minutes from the time I got in line, ordered and received my food. So not bad. They were running that place efficiently.

Then we went to Mickey’s PhilharMagic. This is an attraction I can see over and over. I just love it and Mal fell in love with it too. The cutest thing ever was her trying to grab everything, reach for Donald and hug Ariel. I love the smells and getting wet was fun. Mal laughed her booty butt off! That’s what she calls it anyways.

We leave and ride It’s a Small World. Mal sang all through the ride. She really surprises me. I went to take her picture. Uh Oh!! No digital camera! No video camera! Oh boy. I must have left it somewhere.

Tim says he gave it to me when we were eating. I must have hung it on my chair. So, after we get off I tell them to wait in line for Peter Pan while I do some back tracking. Peter Pan had a 40 minute wait.

Why? What is the attraction of this ride? I don’t get it. I never will. This is the one ride on our trip that never had a wait less than 40 minutes. That and Ariel’s Grotto. Which we didn’t do.

I went right to Pinocchio Village Haus found a CM described my case and he came back with my camera and video recorder!

Thank you to the very honest person who turned in my case. I am so very grateful.

Probably was a diser. Thank you for not taking any distasteful pictures either.

I join my family back in line, sorry, I wasn’t cutting just rejoining my family. Not very gracefully either. I thought Tim was actually gonna help me because I did reach out my hand as I was losing my balance and he kinda gestured back that he had me. Nope. Fell right on my booty butt. Was not happy one bit. I think he looked at my back the rest of the 20 minute wait.

I am watching the time. We have a 5pm ressie for Hoop Dee Do for dinner. Matt’s favorite. Actually we all love it!

We get on The Haunted Mansion. Again Mal loved it. She is one easy girl to please at WDW. We did “break down” for a few minutes around the crystal ball. That was enough time to bang on the boys car and scare them some more.

It’s 4:15 and we head for the ferry. I timed it perfectly. When we got to Pioneer Hall we only waited 5 more minutes. Took a great family picture and they hollered for us to “Come and Get It!”

The first year we went to WDW we had dinner here and we loved it. Last year we did the Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show and it just wasn’t the same. Beautiful, but no hoopin’ and hollerin’ the way we like it.

They were absolutely wonderful again!

Disney2006109.jpg

Matt got recognized for his birthday and they put the spot light on him. Tim and I still talk about how that smile was permanently on his face the entire show. When yours kids are happy and having fun they eat. Everyone got their fill at this dinner. Matt ate everything except the cornbread and strawberry short cake. Those boys ate so much chicken. It was gooooooood.

We laughed, we ate, we sang, we ate, we slid spoons over warsh boards, and we ate some more. This is an excellent dinner show. I have no problem using 2 dinner credits. Very worth it for my family. I would recommend this family dinner show to anyone.

After dinner we took the fairy back to MK and it was EMH. We headed to the back! We had to do POTC. Before we got there Mal spotted the Magic Carpet ride and everyone but me got on. All that food and spinning just don’t mix.

At POTC we walked right on and had 2 boats behind us empty. As soon as we got past the wind and the skeleton driving I brought up George. I told Tim the story or reminded him about it and our boat haulted. I didn’t yell out his name I just brought him up. Hmmmmmmm?

When we came off the ride we caught the end of Wishes.

Then it was time for Splash Mountain! It was Tim, Me and Matt. Zach just won’t go on this. Doesn’t like the big drop. He’s been on it, but won’t go back. I love it. Very cute, very animated. Lot’s of story. Like some others said, lot’s of booty butt.

Then Tim took the boys on Big Thunder Mt. Railroad twice. Just walk up and hop on all night long.

We have now discovered our new time of the year to go to WDW.

Buy this time I was thinking of a dole whip. But you know I was so full I couldn’t do it. Ok, I know we’ll be back so I’ll just wait til later in the week. Plus when we walked by it was closed. I felt a little better about that.

Malorie wanted her Ariel show. Pilharmagic, so one more time we walked right on.

We were tired. It is time to call it a night.

It was after 11pm when we got back.

Before we went to bed I looked at our plans for tomorrow. EEEW! 8am breakfast at Animal Kingdom. I made an executive decision.

Plus I got a whole bed to myself! So did Tim.
How romantic! ;)
Who knew that they make you park 1 ½ MILES away from the park?
I knew! If there's one park you don't want to drive to it's the MK. Did you guys take the buses or did you drive every day? We intended to drive but the buses were just so convenient and drop you off so much closer than you could park. (with the exception of Jamie's bad AK bus experience.)
Not only did they get their hair cut, but a blue gel was applied and a ton of pixie dust. All I kept thinking was how am I going to get that out later?
I really wanted to get James' hair cut at the MK but just didn't get around to it. Your boys look adorable in the blue gel. Wash it hard to get out?

The ultimate reward of being a DISer is winning at Buzz Lightyear. :)
Then we went to Mickey’s PhilharMagic. This is an attraction I can see over and over. I just love it and Mal fell in love with it too.
Me, too! I love, lerv, luf, LOVE this attraction....along with Soarin'....they are my 2 faves.
Uh Oh!! No digital camera! No video camera! Oh boy. I must have left it somewhere.
NOOOOOOO! I'm so glad you found it and so sorry you fell on your bum breakin in line! ;)
Why? What is the attraction of this ride?
For me....it's sentimental. Reminds me of my kid visit to WDW. I think it's probably the same for most adults.
I have no problem using 2 dinner credits. Very worth it for my family. I would recommend this family dinner show to anyone.
I've been wondering about this. Everyone seems to love this show....except nebo. I'm wondering if I would find the humor kinda corny or if I would enjoy it? I can cook that kind of food at home so help me tip the scales here, Monica?

Ya, we drove that day. Last year we drove and parked and not once did we have to park so far away. Actually we were pretty close and we didn't have any of those special parking privledges. I guess that's one thing I missed while dising this year.....

I really wanted to get James' hair cut at the MK but just didn't get around to it. Your boys look adorable in the blue gel. Wash it hard to get out?

This was so hard and painful to remove. My kids being older was worth it. For smaller ones, maybe just the mickey head logo in back would be enough.

Nebo is the exception here. We first went in 2003. My boys were 7 & 5. This is the one thing they always brought up and talked about. We could break into belly roll laughs remembering. Watching your kids genuine appreciation while being there is tops. I can cook a mean fried chicken dinner too. But why should I when it can be done for me, no mess to clean up, and being entertained at the same time. No telling the kids to eat, no arguements about eating, just pure harmony. Plus it's egg free and Matt can eat it, so that right there is a huge bonus. They got ribs too which were good. The performers are one of a kind. Lot's of interaction with the audience. Lots of fun!

What day of the week was this? Sunday after Thanksgiving?
Yes! Nov 26!

I bet I know what it is.....
Of course you do, you are a diser!

Lexy! Thanks again. My dedicated reader!

What a awesome day!:thumbsup2 I just love those days when it all comes together and it really IS the Happiest Place on Earth. Thanks for transporting me back there one more time.:goodvibes

I love the boys' haircuts - what a riot! I had no idea they did the colored gel, pixie dust, etc. Giving me ideas....;)

V, you summed up my day in just a few words. It truely was a magical day in everyway possible. It's the one day of our vacation I look forward to the most.

After reading your latest installment, I want to go to WDW NOW!!!!

What a fun day for DS's birthday! You rock!!!!:cheer2:

Retelling it is hard on the disney blues.

My daughter every night lately keeps asking to go back to see her castle. I keep telling her to tell daddy. Last night she grabbed my hand and asked if we could go to the castle. She is just pulling on those strings.

I came across this video and it's too cute not to share. This is my daughter's magical moment. I want to go back and be her. I want to feel WDW the way she did here.

We were at Sing and Dine at Hollywood and Vine for our lunch ressie at MGM.

So cute! I didn't make an H&V ADR because I don't think my ds2 knows Jojo, it comes on so darn early now! But, if I knew they sang MMCH I might have done it! He loves that show, he's wearing his new MMCH PJ's tonight. It is such a joy to see things fresh through your kids' eyes! Thanks for sharing the video, looking forward to reading about the rest of the trip!

OHHHHHH!!!!

She is so CUTE!

I love how un-impressed she is at first.

Heyyyy, we have that same princess sippy cup! Borg!

Lovin' your report! Looks like you all had so much fun! Love the video of your daughter too! She looks like she is having a great time!

Allyson :)

Thanks everyone! Moving on!

We are not doing breakfast or AK tomorrow. This family needs rest!

I set the alarm for 7am so I could call dinning and cancel our ressie. I believe it’s the right thing to do.

You never know some other family just might be dying to get that ressie. Some poor unfortunate non-diser could be standing at the gates wondering why people are walking in the park before it opens and find out that you can actually eat breakfast with the characters! That’s what I tell myself and roll back over and fall asleep. At least the dinning CM agreed with me.

After sleeping in I suggested that Tim could take the kids swimming and my mom and I can do some laundry. Then after lunch we’ll hit a park. No one protests. It’s a plan Stan. Maybe we’ll ride the bus Gus?

Kids wake up and I’m gathering all the dirty clothes into one suitcase. Tim has them put on their swim suits and takes them down. Baby too!

It’s a little cloudy, but it’s looking pretty promising. I head to the laundry room first and start 3 loads! Wow! 3 and we’ve been at this for 4/5 days? The washing machines were a lot smaller than what I’m used to at home. I even used the large capacity washer. I must be blessed with a super nova machine. I just assumed I had the average sized washer and dryer at home. I could wash circles at home around what a WDW washer can do. Not feeling the magic. It’s laundry for crying out loud! The dryers? Don’t even get me started. Every load to wash or dry was at least $2.00.

I did hang out at the pool and watched my kids swim with their dad and have the pool all to their selves. I’m not kidding the only time I saw that pool busy was when we returned from the parks each night. And that was after 10pm. I am so thankful we did not get a poolside room. SO THANKFUL!

That tired Malorie out so Tim took the kids back to the room so they could change and Mal took one of her only good pm naps of the week. So, mom and I put more money in the dryer for the second time and went to eat at the food court with Zach and Matt.

The food court is fine. A good variety of eats. The only thing I don’t like is having to wait several times in line. Zach is fine, he has no food restrictions and he can go and get anything. Matt, well you know, I have to speak with a chef. It takes a little longer to get Matt’s food to make sure it’s safe. Cleaning the grill, getting the food out, etc. The boys are seated with Nanee eating and now I can get mine. I did get a rolled up cheese steak thingy I think I’ve read others rave about. It was good. Nothing special. Just always happy to like something I order from a food court.

Now Tim and Malorie show up and Zach and I go back to get our “dry laundry”. It was still wet. Heavy wet. HuH? I looked to see if it was on reverse. I put more money in for a third try. I even took some heavier pieces out. I stood and contemplated my next step. It’s going on 3pm. We still want to make a park. Another executive decision had to be made. It’s just money! I take the wet laundry back to the rooms and hang it up to dry while we are at the park! Boy did our room look festive!

Drove the car to the front and picked up the rest of the gang. Aren't cell phones grand?

Since AK closed at 5 we headed to Epcot. This park is really making an impression with our family and is probably our second favorite park.

Disney2006152.jpg

Parking wasn’t so bad. We didn’t need the tram. Just a small marathon of a hike and we were in!

Had to ride spaceship snooze, I mean earth. The kids love it. It’s informative. In a primitive kind of way. I could have taken a nap if Mal wasn’t riding with me. I’m just saying.

Before this trip took place I made up my mind and told my kids that mom would be riding Test Track and Soarin’ this time.

After my almost nap we headed over to Test Track. My mom is like me and stays away from rides that make her dizzy. We each got vertigo. Genes. My mom didn’t want to ride Test Track and got her and Mal a pretzel while we rode.

I mentioned that I’m a designated driver. I do not make a good passenger. If I’m not in control of the car, I am a car sick person. Always have been. I can remember countless times getting sick as a child on long car rides to just about anywhere. I had to always sit by the window if I couldn’t be up front.

The ride wasn’t bad. Just the part with the jerks and quick changes in speed, and the swerves, got to me. But I now can say, “Why yes, I did ride Test Track the last time we went to WDW and visited Epcot.” Or something like that.

Well since I was big and bad, I said, “Lets go check out Soarin’!” Mom was just being totally cool now. We head over and there’s a 40 minutes wait. No more fast passes are available. That’s ok! We are coming back here tomorrow. I secretly smiled. I didn’t have to ride Soarin’.

Yet.

Disney2006154.jpg
It was a bit rainy mixed with sun and this happened.

We did go to the Nemo ride. I think the cue was longer than the ride. What did that attraction replace anyways?

Those clam mobiles were so cute. I did like the ride, but there’s one part that I could forget. Not to spoil the ride, but for those of you who have ridden all I am saying is BUBBLES. I don’t have to be moving fast to get the sick feeling. If I watch something moving in a weird way, I can and will get sick. The second we were “IN” the bubbles my eyes had to close. Almost wasn’t pretty.

That could have ruined the rest of my night.

And the clam mobile.

Another shampoo avoided.

Disney2006158.jpg
Disney2006155.jpg

We took the kids to Innoventions East and West. My kids could and would spend an entire day in these type of places. They just love all the interaction. Mal had fun in the model home practicing her “fire ‘scape” with brother. They got to make the plastic robots and participate in the tag game. Malorie colored and ran around the place. Just before a power nap.

It was time to find a spot for Illuminations. It was about an hour before show time. I didn’t want to be too deep into the park. So if you are facing World Showcase Lagoon we were to the right of club cool on a path and claimed two benches. It was a great spot. It was sprinkling and there was a covering. We were close to the bathrooms and when we got thirsty we ran into club cool. While we waited we could see the lights that decorated the bridge to World Showcase and they had music playing which the lights danced to. It was a very cool thing to watch and it helped to pass the time.

Tim did take the boys to Club cool and talked with a CM. He came back with some great news. Today was the last day to expect any kind of crowd. The rest of the week was supposed to be a breeze. Could it get any better than that? Crowds? Compared to summer, I already thought things were smooth sailing.

You know what that means?

I have to ride Soarin’ tomorrow.

Illuminations ended and we headed back to the room. It was nice not feeling dog tired. Spending the last hour on a bench in a park is not bad or a waste of time. Changing our plans this day was a very smart move. I left open Friday, so in case something didn’t work out, I had a fall back day. I just hoped we didn’t get a rain out day. Remember I made no room for Mr. Murphy.

I love days like that(minus the laundry of course;) )Just taking it easy, that is my kind of vacation. I am not the commando sort though I did get the Tour Guide Mike subscription. Still not sure whether I will follow his "plan" or not.

The video was great. Mal is sooo adorable!!! :goodvibes

Can't wait to read the next chapter. It's not Disney, it's an adventure!!!!

Very cute video! she is just too adorable eating and then breaking out in song like she was born to do that , love your boy's hair That is funny,,,,great tr so far love love love it makes me wanna get on a plane and just go but i have to do disneyland 1st so i have to wait till 08 but then hopefully it will be with utahmama:goodvibes
just waiting patiently for next install

Great installment! Way to ditch the plan and sleep in, Monica!!! :) It is so hard to get up after a long day at the parks the day before.

Your husband took ALL kids to the pool.....what guy!! BTW the video of Mal was just the cutest! Love the singin...what a doll!

Doesn't Disney laundry stink??? Alternately, Jamie had a big laugh when he read the "we'll do it for ya" laundry list.....sumpn like $12 for 5 pairs of underwear. :lmao:

I got the vertigo too....but just lately....since about 30. Are the bubbles in Nemo equivilent to the pukin tunnel in Buzz?

Hope the next day is a crowdless one! ;)

That's actually the first time we took it easy on one of our trips. Important lesson has been learned.

Where are you staying?

Watching her just wants me to take her back and do over that moment. That place was great for toddlers.

Let me know when you and UM set a date. I'd love to meet up with you guys! Wishful thinking ya know?
