This is the 1st year that our kids went out trick or treating (or whatever) without us!:( DH and I are really missing it, too. DD is 15 and went to a party and DS13 went over his friend's house on the other side of town right after school and went trick or treating there and is sleeping over. I guess we should be happy they enjoyed having us around this long, but I sure do miss the excitement. I made up goodie bags for our little niece an nephew and begged their mom to bring them over;) I can't imagine when DD goes off to college in 2 years!:earseek:

All of you with little ones, please enjoy each and every day--they really do grow up so fast. Happy Halloween all!

My girls went without me too. :(

My DS9 informed me he was old enough to go out by himself with a friend (NOT!). But I talked with the friends mother and it was okay for the boys to go together with one of our families......DS9 decided he would rather go with his friends & his family than have his friend go with us. So, DH & I took DS3 out. DS3 was excited and had fun with just Mom & Dad. We would see DS9 every once and a while and ask him to join us and he wasn't interested. At one point, I asked, which way are you going, with us or with Brandon & his family. DS9 said, okay, I'll go with you and proceeded to follow his friend and family. It's so hard when they start to grow up.

I joked with the other parents that maybe next year their son will be too old to go with his parents and the boys will be "forced" to join us instead.;)

I guess I will be in the minority when I say, I loved staying home! (first time in 14 years). DH took DD 3 for about 20 min and DS 12 went with just a friend. DD 14 sat on a bench in front of the house until DH came back and said "you know all the other Freshman are out there chasing each other w/ shaving cream....", So I told her "look you're spoiling my night and scaring the little ones away, go ahead!" All in all a good night. Everyone is safe and happy.

Sure know how you are feeling. My DS is a freshman away at college and my DD is a sophomore in high school and went to a halloween party tonight. This was the first night in 18 years that our kids were not home for halloween. It was sad.

I still have my DSs, but I was saying the same thing about my nieces this year. They usually come out with us, but the both had parties too. Lukily ones was later so she came out for a while with us, but I still feel like they are getting old. :(

I went to a friends and helped him pass out candy .. My kids were at their dad's this year so I thought I would be home alone down my really long dark driveway by myself BUT I was saved ! saw some really cute costumes - and a really funny one a blow up ballerina ?? Hee hee we judged her the best ..
