I am so excited to finally start one of these!!! I have gotten so much information from these boards and I hope that I can help any other Disney bride that is in the process of planning their wedding. I want to start off by letting everyone know that my fiancé and I signed our Disney contract this week and it was pretty intense. 16 pages of every possible thing that could go wrong. When we finished reading it I asked him if he really wanted to do this because once we sign there is no going back!

We will be getting married on December 9, 2011 at the Wedding Pavilion at 10:00 AM. Then we will have the reception at the Whitehall Room. At night we will be having a dessert party at the UK Lochside.

We had a hard time trying to decide if we wanted an Escape Wedding or a Wishes Wedding. We both love Sunset Pointe and that was our dream location but in order to be married there we had to exclude so many people. We agreed that this wedding is just going to be our immediate family because of $$$$$$. But of course when people are excluded then problems arise in the families. In the end we decided this. We have a total of 26 guests + us. This is the number that the wedding will stay at. We actually just wanted to go by ourselves and we were completely fine with that but when I mentioned this to my grandpa (he is like my father) he said he really wanted to be there. We could keep it small and just have him and my grandma there. Then that’s when we decided on an Escape Package because we would have to invite my fiancés mom and dad. I know this number of people still qualifies for a memories package but my grandparents are raising my nephew and this means he would be there, and my fiancé has 4 siblings so now the Memories package was out of the question. It wasn’t until the Christmas holiday that we made the decision to switch to the Wishes package. My grandparents raised me and I have always been very close to my aunts and uncle. They were sad that they would not be there for the big day but they were ok with it. Peter and I talked about upgrading so the people who have actually impacted our lives could be there. We spoke to each member of our family over the holiday and asked them if we did change our package if they would be able to come. Everyone was excited and agreed to join us on our big day! We are thrilled for this new outcome and are looking forward to our dream wedding.

How we Met
Peter and I met during our senior year of high school. We had the same circle of friends and one Saturday we both ended up at a skateboarding competition because a few of our friends were competing. We started talking and I mentioned that I was cold. He went to the car and got his sweater for me. I was surprised by this nice gesture. We spent the rest of the day together talking, laughing, and getting to know one another. Something I should mention is that Peter has long hair. On our first date I went over to his house to straighten it. Lol

Peter is 24 and I am 23. We have been together for 6 years. We both share a love for Disney. I am thrilled that he wants this Disney wedding just as much as I do. We actually saw that wedding special with David Tutera and when it was over we looked at each other and said we would be getting married there! I am a senior in college and will be graduating this May! I will be getting my bachelors in History with a certification to teach. This semester I will be doing my student teaching, I am soooooo nervous. Peter is also a senior and will be graduating at the end of summer.

Engagement
Over the summer my family went on a vacation to Disney World. I later found out after he proposed that he asked for my grandfather’s permission before they got on Mission Space at Epcot. Peter said he was nervous but when he asked that my grandpa said that he was fine with it and then they were off into space. The next day he asked my grandmother for her permission before Fantasmic. I was off buying a pretzel. When he asked her she started crying and Peter said he got paranoid because he thought I was already coming back. My family loves Peter. He is a great guy. The next day we were at the Magic Kingdom and we had lunch reservations inside the castle. Peter and I ate there the previous summer and he knew how much I loved the place. After we were done eating Peter started to tell me how much he loved me. I didn’t take this as any different because he is usually romantic. He said that he enjoyed the past 5 years that we had spent together and that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. I heard trumpets playing then I turned around and there was our server with a plate. He took the lid off and there was a glass slipper with a ring!!!!!! I cried like a baby!!!!! Something that should be mentioned is that I am not an emotional person, so when my family saw me in tears everyone was pretty shocked. I said yes and now we have a Disney wedding to plan!

Those ring photos are so beautiful.

We have booked Randy as our photographer. Peter and I really like his work. We also liked that his packages are customizable. We also booked Rev. Kevin Knox and Beaute Speciale. Here are some pics of a few things that we have.

This is the cake topper that we got using the disney movie reward points.

My grandma and I worked on this shirt this past weekend. I ordered her a transfer and it should be here later in the week.

Loving what you have so far!! It seems like you are going for more of a Cinderella theme, which is awesome! :)

I need to start seeing what I can get with my Disney points!!

I also got our wedding ears on ebay, but I too don't really like the newer version!

OH my! That bracelet is absolutely stunning!!

And that hoodie from VS is so cute!!! I am slightly obsessed with hoodies.... considering I have a closet deemed "the hoodie closet" :rolleyes1
I need to go to VS!!! :)

I got the hoodie from Victoria's Secret for like $30 because I had a coupon for $20. Be on the look out for the sales so you can save some $. I kind of like the idea of a Cinderella theme but I'm still not sure. I know we will use the cake topper but i'm not sure in what direction I want to go. We are waiting on getting a wedding planner so I guess when we get the planning pack it will be easier to decide.

I have a question guys, do you think its a big deal if there is no toast at a wedding?

Hi Melissa. I don't think it's a big deal if there isn't a toast at the wedding. I love the hoodie!

Hey guys! I have a few updates.

First let me start off by saying that I am doing my student teaching right now, and OMG it is so stressful. I never knew all the stresses that teachers faced. This is my 5th week and I am finally getting the hang of it.

We got our planner and her name is Carol Mikles. We will not be going down for the planning session. :sad2: But we will have it on the phone on March 10.The floral planning session will be on March 14. We got our annual passes in the mail. We booked our disneymoon and we will be staying at the BLT 12/8-12/15. For the last night of our trip we will be staying at the Poly.

I just got my shoes in the mail and I love them!!!! :lovestruc I bought them when I got my dress but they were white. I knew I wanted them to be blue and I had the hardest time trying to find a place that would dye them. Here is a pic.

I bought this frame thing at ross a couple of weeks ago. We are going to place it on a table so our guests can sign it. It was only $8!!!!!

We also got our centerpieces. I went back and forth with this concept. I really wanted flowers but the more I thought about it, the more I realized that we could use the money for another area of the wedding. We ordered these from stumps party. Someone had posted them on the site awhile back and I loved them! They are even prettier in person.

I do not plan on using any floral for the WP. My grandma was not to pleased about this. I am only going to have the petal toss and I want them sprinkle some rose petals on the tables of the reception. Since we are cutting back on the flowers we will now be able to have an open bar. I will be sure to update again after the planning session.

love the shoes and the centerpieces!!!

And that hoodie, LOVE IT!

That bracelet is PERFECT!!

Your grandma seems really sweet to work on those shirts with you! I'm very close to my grandparents as well :)

I looove the centerpieces! And I am a first year teaching "assistant" (but I don't assist anyone... I teach college freshman composition all by my lonesome!) and it is VERY stressful the first few months... but you will get the hang of it, I promise. :)

Also, I LOVE that hoodie and need it.

I had my planning session over the phone last week and my floral planning session yesterday. I spoke to Carol for the first time and I must say she is soooooooooooooo nice! She was extremely helpful and answered all of my questions. I even received my BEO from her the following day. I don’t know how to post it and if I can’t figure it out I will type it out. My budget for the wedding is $15,000 and my total without floral came out to $16,021. I am going to be cutting some stuff out and I will try to get as close as I can to $15,000. It all seems so surreal. When Carol went over the timeline of the day and I was imagining everything in my head it felt real. I hadn’t really thought about every detail and I started to get excited! I feel like December will be here in no time. I don’t really feel stressed about anything, yet. The Passporter book, these boards, and the weekly podcasts have helped with the process. I didn’t really have too many questions to ask and I already knew the things I wanted.
I have a few updates. Peter and I decided to add a videographer. We didn’t know we wanted this until we saw the video that CosmicLove posted. Her video was beautiful! We booked Stan. We also bought our wedding favors and will be making our place cards.
I have a few questions to ask you guys. I am going to try to cut some stuff and I wanted to know if you guys think it’s tacky to just serve fruit at the pre-reception. I don’t want to overstuff everyone, but I also don’t want it to seem empty. If my Magic Kingdom photo session is the following morning do I need a floral refresh? Here are some pics of the things we got over the last couple of weeks.
This is going to be our centerpiece. The only thing I am adding to the table is some sprinkled rose petals.

We bought a memory candle on ebay. It is going to have a floating candle. It is to honor Peter's grandfather. It will be set up with a picture of him and a single white rose.

I have seen a bunch of these hangers on the boards and knew I had to have one!
DSC00015.jpg

These are going to be our wedding favors.
DSC00016-1.jpg

We are going to remove the tag that came on them and replace them with this one.
DSC00028.jpg

These are going to be our place card holders. They are so pretty in person!
DSC00029.jpg

I ordered our invitations on etsy and will post them as soon as I get em!

I LOVE those centerpieces!! :)

All your little finds are great!! I can't wait to see it all come together! So glad everything is working out well with you and your planner!

Hi! I just found your PJ and love it! We have a lot of similar things! Our favors are the same and I am having a carriage centerpiece for the sweetheart table and for the cake toper. Do you know where Peter got your bracelet? I love it and it would look great with the theme!
