Miss B's Magical Wish Trip Adventure to Atlantica

It's been another magical week for us! On Monday, the girls received two very 'princessy' packages--one from Kendra and another from Angela from Ollie Girl! Boutique. These fairy godmothers outdid themselves making the most adorable princess gowns--and they all fit perfectly!

DSC_0707.jpg

It wasn't particularly nice outside on Monday (kind of grey and overcast) but the girls wanted to go outside, so we decided to open the parcels on the trampoline. Fair warning: Lots of bouncy camera shots!

Brooke opened Kendra's (no disname, I'm afraid) package first. Inside, two gorgeous gowns--and one that Brooke just kept shrieking about it! For Brooke, a bright yellow, shimmery ballgown à la Belle from Beauty and the Beast. Gorgeous! It has a jewelled brooch button and little jewelled bits all over the skirt and fits like a dream. It is wonderful and, not surprisingly, Brooke wanted to try it on immediately! I told her let's look at everything first and then she could try it on after.

For Avery--a sweet little Minnie Mouse knot dress in red, black and white polka-dots and an appliquéd head on the apron. I love knot dresses--and this one is just so darned cute!! So adorable!! As soon as she saw her sister trying to strip off her clothes on the trampoline, Avie was yanking at her t-shirt, too! She loved the dress--and so do I!

Thank you so much, Kendra. These are amazing dresses! Please know that the girls will definitely be wearing them to one of the princess activities we have planned on our trip! After all, they have to be appropriately dressed for their audiences with Disney royalty! :)

The next package was from Angela of Ollie Girl! Boutique and it contained more ballgowns for my little princesses!

DSC_0738.jpg

For Avery, a beautiful replica of Cinderella's pink ribbon dress (the dress she makes with the help of her mice and bird friends to attend the ball). It is soooo special and looks just like Cindy's first ballgown! And, it came with a matching little pink ribbon headband. Perfect!

DSC_0776.jpg

For Brooke--another shriek!--Cinderella's blue and silver ballgown! Like Avie's, the dress is a sundress so completely comfortable for real-life wear, but--oh!--it looks just like the real thing! Brooke's also came with a blue headband--just like Cindy wears to the ball.

And to top it off--two little star-shaped wands! I think this was Avie's favourite part of the packages! LOL!! She kept wandering around with the wand and even took it in the bath that night. :)

DSC_0765.jpg

Thank you so much, Angela. These are simply beautiful--and so soft. Brooke was in heaven with these dresses--even oogling Avie's little ribbon dress and kept saying that Avie had Cinderella's 'ruined ballgown' and she had Cinderella's 'Prince Charming dress!'

The attention to detail that both BigGivers put into these gowns is amazing. They are truly spectacular and the girls love them! Not only will they wear them with pride on our trip, but they will get tons of use out of them just wearing them day-in and day-out with dress-up and everday wear. Now, my girls have wardrobes truly befitting their honourary princess status! Thank you so much!

But--that was just Monday! We received another package notice from the post office yesterday, but the post office had just closed by the time I got home so I'll have to pick it up today. And--we received a little brochure from GKTW yesterday, as well! (I'm not certain if this is the same as the 'official' GKTW package that others have mentioned, but it was still very exciting!) I haven't told Pas all about GKTW yet (I want to keep some surprises for him!) so he enjoyed reading through the brochure.

And...finally---BROOKE'S WISH DAY IS TOMORROW!!!! Yeah! It seems we've waited so long for it! I can't wait! Tomorrow afternoon, our wish granters, Ann and Laura will be coming over, joined by 3 other MAW reps and the gentleman who is sponsoring Brooke's wish. I can't wait to meet this man--and thank him in person. I hope I can get through the celebration without bawling like a baby! Better wear waterproof mascara just in case! :)

So, more news tomorrow night! I better clean the house....

Just tearing up over ALL of the beautiful Big Give talent and gifts...it is simply nothing less than spectacular to see the love poured over your family! I can't pick faves, although the crocheted Ariel doll makes me want to swoon, as do those Animal Kingdom outfits...GORGEOUS! Everything is simply stunning! I am SO excited for your family!

Me, too! I can't pick favourites--everything is so wonderful in it's own way. We love everything!

:lovestruc I honestly love seeing your girls opening the BG's . They are so precious. Brooke twirling around in her in the AK outfit is awesome! And Avie is cute as a button in hers as well.
Glad you guys like the tie dyes. I noticed somewhere along the way, somebody within the post office added some stickers to the package. It made me smile when I saw it. I had put the mickey ears on there front and back and of course Mickey Mail, but knowing someone else loves WDW and wanted to spread the love as well...not even knowing what was inside the package. Just a couple stickers made me smile. :lovestruc Thanks for posting pictures of everyone in them...You are gonna be we one well dressed family on your trip!

Oh--that just goes to show how catching a pay-it-forward moment like this is! Love that. Love the shirts. Thanks so much!

I can't believe how close your trip is!!! :yay::woohoo::yay: Eager to hear about the reveal!!!

Can't wait to hear about Wish Day!

Thanks for sharing all the pictures of the girls opening and trying on their gifts!

How to describe last week? What single word could encapsulate the entire wonder and magic that was last Thursday afternoon? How to convey to all of our faithful friends and readers just what level of joy and merriment their thoughtfulness and that of MAW's brought to our little girls? Pretty tough to do, I think.

Brooke's amazing Wish Day celebration took place on Thursday, but it deserves its own post, so I'll try to capture all of the details of the Big Give packages the girls on Thursday and Friday in this post, instead.

It's taken all day for PhotoBucket to upload these photos--but I think I best post up the update now before it's gets crazy busy again!

On Wednesday, we received another two packages--and when I went to pick it up at the post office, it wasn't the usual woman behind the counter. The young guy, who I have seen several times before, wanted me to show ID to claim the package, but of course, I left my purse in the car with Pas and the girls. I said, ''Sure, i'll go get it,'' and then the usual postmistress (who knows the whole Big Give/wish trip story) walked in--she just looked at me heading toward the car to get my purse and said, ''Oh--forget it! She's picked up like a dozen packages for her daughters already! I know who she is.'' She turned to me and smiled. ''You'll have to bring your girls in here to show me all the outfits you've been getting!'' I promised I would.

The package was from Jessica (DISname: Jessica52877), Lin and Dallas and contained the cutest shirt dresses and some stickers and princess temporary tattoos.

DSC_0848.jpg

Brooke's dress has Mike Wazowski on it from Monsters, Inc. while Avie's has little Boo (the human baby girl) from the same movie. Too adorable! Pas loved these dresses--he's always called Avie "Boo" from the movie. She just loves that little character. I think we'll have the girls wear these dresses for their Hollywood Studios day.

DSC_0019-4.jpg

Thank you so much Jessica and family! These dresses are just so cute! I just love the colours!

The girls then opened a huge box of pixie dust from Shannon (no disname). Inside? A Minnie Mouse woodboard puzzle, a Glitter Mermaid dress-up jewelery set, some princess books, some glow sticks and glow stick wands, a princess sippy cup and a princess water bottle and a princess pack-and-play craft set (perfect for the plane ride!). All useful and fun things!

DSC_0823.jpg

Thanks so much Shannon! The girls just loved the box!

Then, on Thursday, just before the wish grantors came to deliver Brooke's wish, we had two more packages. The girls were all dolled up for the wish party.

I had been cleaning all morning and then Brooke helped me make a punch and she and Avie wanted to dress up--so I tried to put them both in the Ariel and Flounder dresses because I thought it would be ideal for receiving an 'Ariel' wish, but Brooke had already picked out a pink party dress from her closet and I couldn't change her mind without ruining the surprise. So, Avie wore the Flounder outfit by herself. And after Brooke found out about her wish, she said she wished she had her Ariel dress on, too! Oh well--I told her she could wear it to meet Ariel. She seemed happy with that!:rotfl:

Anyways, the pre-wish delivery packages helped build up some excitement to the actual celebration. First package Brooke and Avie opened was from the Wilson Family (DISname: Tonyababyrn).

DSC_0868.jpg

DSC_0856.jpg

It contained a great black and red and white Mickey-head tote and inside was an assortment of little trinkets for the girls: a board book and a waterproof bath book for Avie, some crazy drinking straws for the girls and a really cool little princess charm bracelet for Brooke. (You'll see later that she was wearing the bracelet during her wish celebration--she changed the charm gem to Ariel's face.)

DSC_0022-3.jpg

Next up was an anonymous box from a Disboutiquer! I was a little concerned because the box was pretty squashed, so I hoped it wasn't anything that could be ruined by a little flattening! LOL!! No need to worry--the box contained some clothes.

DSC_0880.jpg

DSC_0878.jpg

DSC_0883.jpg

Two beautiful outfits in the brightest, most beautiful, sugary colours! Matching halter tops and twirl skirts for the girls with appliqued ice cream cones, lollipops, and cupcakes all over them! Perfect for our Aviecakes!!! :) So yummy looking and the girls look yummy in them, too!

DSC_0024-4.jpg

I envision a date to GKTW's Ice Cream Palace in those outfits! Just sooo sweet! Thank you Disboutiquer!

Then, we had the wish day celebration, but while I'm at it, I'll just skip ahead to Friday's BIG GIVES, too!

On Friday, we received another two packages. One was a Nemo-stickered package for the whole family from Angie (DISname: Diz-Mommy) containing four personalized t-shirts! Each shirt read's "Brooke's Disney Trip Make-a-Wish 2011"--and features the castle with fireworks and Tinkerbelle.

DSC_0038-6.jpg

DSC_0040-2.jpg

Brooke's tee is orange (her favourite colour!) with yellow ribbons on the sleeve to make her's stand out from the rest of ours, Avie's is pink, while mine is turquoise blue and Pascal's is red. Our favourite colours!

DSC_0044-3.jpg

Won't we look sharp? I swear, we're going to have people coming up to us all week asking us where we got all of these great outfits. Thanks so much, Angie for the awesome shirts!:thumbsup2

Last package of the week was from Nicole (DISname: princessbride6205)--a shoebox decorated with lovely stickers from Nicole's little girl.

DSC_0054-2.jpg

DSC_0059-3.jpg

The box was a Theme Park Survival Kit and contained all the goodies you don't necessarily think of but need for these types of trips--especially with long days and little kids! Inside were disposable baby bibs, disposable change pads, bandaids, handsanitizer, vaseline (for diapering, of course!), gummy snacks, baby wipes, some ziploc bags and stickers--and a little toiletry bag to carry it all in!

Thanks Nicole! These will all be put to good use at the parks.

It was a BIG GIVE-arific week! :wizard:Thank you so much to everyone for all of the lovely goodies and well wishes! There are a few photos missing of the girls trying on all the outfits. I'll post up the rest soon!

Loving the Monsters and cupcake outfits! and Brooke is working your new bag too!

Received a very cute thank you note today! Love Brooke's stickers and drawing! It was fun picking out their goodies!

LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!! It's all just so amazing! I can't wait to read about her Wish Party!!!!

I have to tell you, my boys have taken to reading over my shoulder and commenting on what cutie-pies your girls are :lovestruc

So adorable! I love all the pixie dust and the outfits are fabulous! This must be so much fun for the girls.

WOW! such a talented group of people!!

I LOVE the wish shirts, so cute, and the ice cream outfits....what a fabulous idea! just such cute cute cute things!!

Thanks for sharing!!!

Robin, I don't know where to start it is all so stunning and simply amazing! Those sweet treat clothes are to jump up and down over, as are the Wish Shirt. It is ALL magical, from the outfits to the Pixie Dust! I am grinning ear to ear looking at your Princess's excitement. God Bless you all and I can't BELIEVE your trip is almost here! :goodvibes

Last Thursday was Brooke's wish day and it was--in a word--magical! I spent the entire day cleaning house and preparing for the wish fairies arrival. The girls got dressed and helped me make a punch and set out of a plate of cheese, crackers, fruits and nibbles.

When the cars started pulling into our driveway, the two girls went and stared out the window. Brooke began shrieking with delight when she saw the wish grantors pull a balloon bouquet out of the back of the car. The balloon that got her attention? The giant princess castle balloon with all of the princesses hanging out of windows printed on it, of course!

DSC_0891.jpg

Then the MAW crew started pulling out gift bags, and Brooke wondered if it was her birthday. She threw open the door, so excited to see everyone. It was just precious!

DSC_0895.jpg

The first thing Bev (another MAW rep) did was hand Brooke a giant dry-erase princess colouring book. Brooke was simply giddy with excitement at this point.

DSC_0899.jpg

Everyone came in and we were introduced to the people we didn't know--two more MAW reps and the actual wish sponsor, a kind-hearted gentleman named Wayne, and his daughter, Stacy. Once everyone was seated and punch cups were handed out, Ann tried to get Brooke's attention to show her that her wish to see Ariel had come true.

DSC_0904.jpg

DSC_0908.jpg

Poor Ann! It took a few moments, as Brooke's attention kept sidling back to the balloons. She was just so amazed by them! Finally, once she started paying attention, she realized that Ann was showing her pictures of the trip in a folder covered in Disney pins--a limo to pick us up, a plane to take us on a trip, a photo of Mayor Clayton and Mrs. Merry and then, the castle where Ariel would be and then photos of Mickey and the gang and the princesses! Brooke started to dance around at the news!

Then, it was time to open presents--and there were sooooo many of them! Like Christmas in August. It was insane! The were Princess-themed tissue papers and gift bags being tossed in the air faster than I was able to snap pictures!

DSC_0921.jpg

First was MAW's suitcase--Brooke spotted that one right away--a purple Tinkerbell suitcase with a silver wishing wand sticking outside of it. She unzipped it to reveal everything you would ever need for your first plane trip! Inside was a princess fleece blanket, princess pjs, Dora sunglasses, Ariel water bottle, a personalized hairbrush (for her BBB appointment), some snacks and candies, an Ariel apple juice bottle, Ariel magnetic play set, and an Ariel craft kit. That would have been enough--but there was still so much more! Like I said, it was overwhelming--too, too much!

DSC_0923.jpg

DSC_0931.jpg

DSC_0929.jpg

Next, Brooke opened another MAW gift bag to reveal an Ariel barbie doll, and a Prince Eric barbie. She was in love with them! Another bag contained a personalized pink princess mug and another Ariel barbie--this one with a tail that can go in the water. Not surprisingly, Brooke has taken a huge interest into Barbie dolls lately and princesses are the best kind of barbies! :)

DSC_0940.jpg

DSC_0939.jpg

Then, she opened a tiny gift bag from Stacy to reveal a little Princess purse with some princess stickers, nail stickers, lip balm, and a little mirror--all the things a little girl needs in a purse!

Brooke was already swimming in presents and then Wayne opened his bag for her. It was so special, I became vaklempt right there and started to tear up! He had such a sweet and sorrowful story about how his wife was diagnosed with cancer shortly after he and his wife had become DVC members and had taken their grandchildren to Disney for the first time. She didn't make it.

For some time afterwards, he was quite depressed by the loss of his beloved wife and one day, he walked past a toy store in the mall and saw a promotion going on for MAW. He and his wife had always said they would love to sponsor a wish one day, so he decided to go in and ask for information. He said that as soon as he walked out of the story, he felt uplifted and revigorated.

He called MAW right away and spoke to the reps--his only stipulation was that it had to be a Disney World wish. And, when he heard about Brooke and how she had had cancer, he figured it was a sign from his wife and just knew she was the one he would sponsor. He said he had been looking forward to her Wish Day all summer long and couldn't wait to meet Brooke!

Well, we couldn't wait either! Anyways, as his gift to Brooke, he presented her with two framed lithographs of Ariel and her family. What a special momento! We were so honoured. And, Brooke was so pleased, just staring at the beautiful frames. We will find a special wall in her room to hang the frames.

DSC_0914.jpg

DSC_0917.jpg

DSC_0979-1.jpg

Wayne also handed us his copy of an Orlando tour guide book, as well as some Disney maps--which I am thrilled about! Being in Canada, I can't order the maps from the Disney website, so this was great.

And, then not to leave Avie out, MAW brought Avery two little gift bags--one with a little outfit in it and a tube of Little People figurines. And another containing a pink Little People bus that lights up and makes sounds. She was in heaven!

DSC_0968.jpg

DSC_0971.jpg

DSC_0975.jpg

Wayne also thought of our little Aviecakes, bringing her another outfit and a stuffed Minnie Mouse doll. Perfect! Avie just toted around that stuffed doll all afternoon.

Then, Ann brought handed me the official MAW shirts and some other goodies. WestJet (our airline sponsor) had also included a little giftbag of trinkets for the flight--and another surprise--Sony is also a sponsor and wanted to send a little giftbag, as well. We received a little digital camera, a case, card and the whole kit and kaboodle! Too much!!

DSC_0985.jpg

DSC_0993.jpg

DSC_0997.jpg

Then, it was time for cake. Well, Laura had brought in the most amazing (and delicious!) chocolate cake--it was decorated like a castle courtyard with four princess figurines wondering around a garden. The wish grantors encouraged Brooke to lick the icing from the side of the cake since it was her special cake! She and Avie had no problems with that! :)

Then, it was time for photos before everyone left. We took quite a few and asked Wayne to provide us with his contact information so we could get in touch with him when we return. We thought he might like to see some photos of Brooke's trip--and he was thrilled with the offer. Then it was hugs and kisses for everyone for making this day--and this trip so amazing! MAW is like DISfolks--they really go out of their way to make this very special dream come true and then some!

DSC_0998.jpg

DSC_0004-4.jpg

DSC_0008-3.jpg

They apologized, laughingly, for leaving such a mess of wrapping paper and gift bags, but I told them ''Are you kidding? This is a good kind of mess! I love this mess. I think I might even leave it for a few days.''

And, y'know what? I did just that. I was too overwhelmed to do anything more than take Brooke aside and just marvel over the surprises that had been revealed to her. The more I explained things--about how the calendar was our count-down to meet Ariel, and how the packages she had received in the mail were all from her fairy godmothers who wanted to make the trip magical for her--the more excited she got! We could barely put her to sleep that night.

It was a truly wonderful experience--and one I am sure Brooke will cherish forever. I know I will!

Oh my- what a wonderful day!!!!! Thanks for sharing that special moment with us!!!:goodvibes

ROBIN!!! I am a bit verklempt myself! Tears of happiness for your little wish princess and entire family are pouring down my face. What an incredible day, one none of you will ever forget. Wayne has a beautiful heart, as do all of these incredible Big Givers. I simply don't know what else to say...except I want a piece of that cake! :thumbsup2 It is gorgeous, as were all of the gifts, the beautiful Wish Granters, the GIRLS!!! What a day full of love and true magic. I am SO happy for you! :cloud9::hug::cloud9::hug::cloud9:
