Miss B's Magical Wish Trip Adventure to Atlantica

So, it feels like Christmas around here--every day we are at the window looking for the mailman! The girls just about go squiggly when they see the flag up on the mailbox or a delivery truck pull into the drive!

Since I had to pick up the two packages from last week today, I decided to wait until the mail had arrived in case I needed to go and pick up something else. Sure enough, two more notices!
DSC_0432.jpg

I carried out four huge boxes from the post office. People must have thought I was nuts! I warned the post lady that there might be more in the weeks to come. When I explained that Brooke was going on her wish trip, she seemed excited for us and told us to have a great trip!

I'm always posting up more photos than I'm allowed, so I'll divide up the Big Give deets into two posts today. Here are the first two we opened up--I am presuming they were the ones that came in last week!

First up--a heavy box full of pixie dust from April (DISname: mommy2girlswv), her hubby and her two little cherubs--January and Kaitlyn! In it we found some colouring and sticker books (the 'Mermaids' book was a particular hit with Brooke!), some princess pens, princess socks, glowsticks, a luggage tag, a water bottle, some princess fruit snacks (which I don't think we have in Canada--they had never seen them and I had to pry the box away from the girls! They wanted to devour the whole thing right then and there! LOL!!), some Hawaiian punch singles and some colourful bandanas.

DSC_0439-1.jpg

April explained that the bandanas were for attaching to the strollers to make them easier to identify after getting off a ride. What a great idea, mommy2girlswv! I hadn't even thought of that!! I will be sure to use them!
DSC_0011-3.jpg

Thanks so much for all of the goodies! The girls adored poring over the box and finding all of the magical pixie dust hidden inside!

Next up was a package from LeAnn (Disname: Evsmama) and her charmer of a son, Evan. Inside were two adorable I-spy bags--an Ariel-themed one for Brooke and a Minnie Mouse one for Avie! The girls were just so intrigued by the bags or 'the shakers' as Brooke called them. I was so excited by them because I just love those bags. Avie wouldn't let go of hers as she just kept pushing on it and finding new treasures appear in the window. This will certainly keep them busy on the plane! (And, how ever did you print the legends on fabric like that, LeAnn?) They are wonderful.

There was also a package in that box for me! I handed the camera over to Brooke and amazingly enough, she actually got a few (terrible! My fault, not hers!) pics of me opening it up. Inside, a beautiful Minnie polka-dot tote! Perfect for lugging around the sunscreen and water bottles! :) And, written on the outside of the little package was a note to be sure to look inside the bag....

DSC_0006-3.jpg

Inside--my own little treasure! A little Mickey bling! So thoughtful and generous of you Evsmama and family! Really cute. I will wear it with pride throughout the trip!
DSC_0005-3.jpg

Thank you again so much. We all love our little treasure bags!

Next up...more spoiling!

We are blown away by the generosity of the Big Givers--as well as the creativity and sewing talent that each new item demonstrates! Amazing!

The third package of the day was from D (DISname: DMGuerts) from SerendipiD Boutique and contained two beautiful and sunny under the sea outfits.

Brooke's pillowcase dress has Ariel sewn on it with her mermaid tail wrapping around the back. So cute!

And Avery's outfit is a Flounder-themed pinafore dress with a ruffled bloomer bottom. Adorable! My hubby thought that was particularly adorable as Avie makes the perfect little fish companion for our mermaid princess!

After the girls modeled the dresses, they decided to swim away. As much as I didn't want to get the dresses dirty, I allowed it as it gave me a great angle to capture Avie's bum ruffles! LOL!! :)

Thanks so much, D! These are just so beautiful and fit perfectly.

The last package was from Christianne (and Colleen!) Burke. It was a huge box containing a treasure trove of amazing things. First up--beautiful orca-print outfits for the girls. Just perfect for our Sea World day!

DSC_0002-3.jpg

Avery received an orca pillowcase dress, while Brooke received an orca twirl skirt and a white tee with a leaping whale on it. Both fit wonderfully. Beautiful, too! And, B twirled in her outfit just to make sure it worked perfectly!

DSC_0589.jpg

But, that wasn't all! Each girl also received a handmade backpack with their names emblazoned on them. Brooke's was an Ariel one, while Avery's was an Abby Cadabby one. Terrific colours, too!

DSC_0539.jpg

DSC_0541.jpg

And, inside each bag were some pixie dust. Brooke's contained some colouring book and art sets, some princess card and domino games, some princess pens and glowsticks. And, another handmade treasure--a matching Ariel crayon roll-up case.

Avery's was similar--a colouring book, some board books and her own Abby Cadabby crayon roll-up (although her crayons were of the chunkier toddler variety. Perfect!).
DSC_0004-3.jpg

The girls were in heaven! These bags will be perfect for bringing along on the plane ride. I can keep all of their little distractions and snacks and lovies in the bags and we'll know just which one belongs to which one.

Thanks so much Chris and Colleen! Words are not enough to thank you for your generosity. Everyone's thoughtfulness has made our hearts glow! :)

Photobucket is being particularly slow tonight, but I hope to have photos up soon!

Finally--some MAW news...Brooke's Wish Delivery Day will take place next week, August 18th. It's a little later than I would have liked since we haven't yet told her pointblank that we are going to Disney. I think she is beginning to put it together each time a package comes in the mail, but we've been kind of skirting the issue.

DSC_0598.jpg

However, as you will now see on my ticker, we are one month away from the trip, so I decided to put up the calendar tonight anyway and we started putting stickers up on it. My hubby printed off a larger poster-sized calendar at work today but forgot to bring it home, so we figured we'd use a little one for tonight and change it for the larger one tomorrow. Anyways, to try to avoid spoiling the surprise, we told Brooke that we would be going to a 'princess dinner' on Day 1. We just didn't tell her where the dinner was going to be! She was happy to put a fish sticker on the calendar either way!

Thanks for tuning in again....

What super pictures! I love seeing the girls modeling the Big Give things they've received. Brooke did a pretty good job of getting some pictures of you too.

The countdown calendar idea is great. Brooke is going to be so excited when you tell her where she is really going!

I love all of the girls new gifts. The Ariel and Flounder outfits are beautiful! I am so glad that you will be able to let the cat out the bag soon and be able to tell the girls that they are going to Disney World! :wizard:

Thanks so much, D! These are just so beautiful and fit perfectly.

You are very welcome! I am so glad that the girls like them and that they fit. The photo of them swimming away is just priceless - thank you so much for sharing. :lovestruc

Everything that you posted is just amazing, I love it all!

I can't wait to hear about the rest of the Big Gives that arrive and your trip! :)

Yes! She's a good little photographer--especially considering the subject she had to work with! Yikes--had I known I was going to be in the photos, I would have put on some mascara....Lesson learned! LOL!!

Aren't they just the sweetest? Yes, I'm glad too. I don't think I can keep this secret in any longer!

Thank you, once again. Yup--they really got into the 'under the sea' theme. Brooke started swimming in the orca dress, too. Hilarious!:rotfl:

The Big Give Fairy has done it again! We received another notice for a package on Tuesday afternoon, so I went to the post office yesterday after work to pick it up. And, when I got home, I found another package already waiting for us in the mailbox. :cool1:

Two more exciting Big Gives! The girls nearly choked on their food (they were eating shepherd's pie when I came through the door carrying the packages!) in a rush to get finished dinner so they could tear into their gifties.

The first mysterious parcel was from VBAndrea and contained the most adorable 'jungle' outfits a little girl could want! My mother-in-law who stayed to see the Big Gives last night couldn't get over the detail put into these amazing outfits. Avie and Brooke both having matching brown t-shirts with animal print Minnie Mouse heads and twirl skirts in a number of animal prints, with Minnie and Mickey head appliqués and ribbon ruffles and details!

DSC_0019-3.jpg

DSC_0020-3.jpg

VBAndrea even included little bloomers for both girls so they can twirl to their heart's content without showing all of London and France their underpants! Just the perfect thing to wear to our Animal Kingdom day. I hope they don't get lost among the animals! :)

Thank you so much, VBAndrea. Unfortunately, I forgot to take photos of the girls modelling the clothes last night (we usually have them model the clothes after their baths!), but I will take some tonight and post them up later. In the meantime, here's a few photos of them opening the package and delighting in the contents! :cloud9:

The second package was from a fellow Canuck--PurpleEars! She made each girl a bucket hat with a special surprise lining!

DSC_0026-4.jpg

DSC_0028-3.jpg

DSC_0029-3.jpg

Brooke's hat is a blue Ariel print hat and Avie's is a pink polka-dot hat with a yellow Mickey appliqué. Avie LOVED the hats! She immediately jammed hers on her head, and while laughing, kept tapping it in place. Then, she had to try on Brooke's....that kid is obsessed with hats! :rotfl:

Inside both hats was a special 'Canada' print of maple-leaf winter woolies and scarves. Brooke thought this was hilarious--'It's for Canada Day!' she exclaimed excitedly, even before I read the note that detailed just that! What a fun surprise, PurpleEars. :)

These are just great--thank you so much, PurpleEars!--these will be perfect for keeping the sun off the girls' faces because we hear the sun can still be pretty brutal in September!

Stay tuned for additional photos of the outfits and hats....

So cute! I love seeing your girls' opening the packages. You've gotten such great pictures. The jungle outfits are precious and I am sure the hats will be very handy.

I'm having so much fun seeing all the wonderful things your girls are getting! I'm so glad my outfits finally arrived and I love the pic you have of Avie and Brooke looking at the Minnie heads on the shirts. I hope the girls like to twirl!

I'm going to post up these photos before I get too behind in BGiving! Here are some pics of the girls dressed up as safair models from yesterday. These adorable jungle dresses are from VBAndrea.

And, they really REALLY twirl! The girls were delighted and couldn't stop dancing in them. In fact, I've had to pry the clothes off of them. Brooke is still wearing the skirt and tee right now!

Also a few photos of the girls modelling PurpleEars' bucket hats. Thanks again ladies! :)

While we were at it, we opened up another package that arrived yesterday, sporting the now-familiar Mickey Mail logo. :) It was a family package--four rainbow tye-dye Mickey head tees sent to us from Ann (DISname: fruto76). Brooke loved 'em. She just loves all colourful, rainbowy things! This will certainly make us stand out from the average Disney guest family! LOL!!

We also received a special postcard in the mail--Ariel sent the girls a 3D pink princess card on behalf of their FairyGodMailer! Thanks so much, Karen!

What a great day!

Today was another great day--is it always this way when a Disney trip is looming?--I'm thinking that's part of it, but I imagine another part of it is the smiles produced by the cool mail we have been receiving!

Two more packages to finish off this week! A long, narrow yellow box that had Brooke guessing what could be inside. I apologize but I can't quite make out the family's name--either the Mridby or Whidby Family. So sorry! :rolleyes1 I want to get this right, so we can thank you properly!

In the box were several items--a beautiful Ariel print pillowcase with a shimmery pink trim, a matching bib for Avie (with a shimmery pink princess print on the back), a little rubber Pooh toy for Avie (which, by the way, is the perfect size for her little hands--she went to bed with it tonight, clutched in her little fist!) and the piece de résistance--a crocheted Ariel doll. Brooke fell in love with the doll! :cloud9:

DSC_0299.jpg

DSC_0332-1.jpg

Truly, the doll is adorable with little bead eyes and long red yarn hair. Brooke spent all afternoon carrying her around, combing her hair (I had to retie it at night time it had all come loose) and even made a bed for her out of the yellow box (drawing seashells on the outside and pillows and a cover on the inside! LOL!!). Beautiful! I think it was the highlight of the day for her.

Last, but not least, a few drawings by another little mermaid-to-be! Brooke loved looking at this little girl's drawings of Ariel. I'm a scrapbooker, so please know that I will make a scrapbook all the little cards and drawings you DISfolks have been sending to us. We treasure these little magic dusted words and pictures as dearly as the gifties!

Anyways, thank you so much for this box of treasures! And, please thank your little girl for her drawings. The toys were an especial hit and are resting on the pillows (as does the pillowcase, of course!) of both girls! (Well, Ariel is actually sleeping in her box beside the pillow, but you get the idea...) :)

In the next package today--some special keepsakes for sure! The next box was from Todd, Marti, Carolyn, Megan and Patrick (DISname: mydisneykids). It contained a package for each girl. Avie's was a rubber moveable Minnie doll (so cute! She gave it a kiss first thing! I hope she gives the real Minnie a kiss when we see her in a month!) and a little board book on fairies. Perfect for keeping Avie busy on the plane ride to Orlando. (Minnie also went to bed with Avie tonight btw!)

Brooke's package contained an Aurora fashion craft set (again, ideal busy toy for the plane or airport!) and a beautiful little picture frame (made out of rubber, so ideal for a kids' room) of the princesses. We can't wait to add a photo of Brooke and her heroine Ariel to that frame.

But the box wasn't empty yet! At the bottom of the box were two postcards for Brooke's collection of notes and cards--one signed by Ms. Mouse herself and the other by the Frog Princess, Princess Tiana. Thank you so much for this box of goodies, MyDisneyKids Family!! We really appreciate all of the pixie dust! :lovestruc

DSC_0329.jpg

Okay--I think I am all BigGived out for the week. :cutie: Hope all of you have a wonderful weekend. I've got to get busy right now making Brooke's school supply list--I can't believe she begins school in just three weeks! Between the first day of school, her MAW wish trip and all of the childhood cancer awareness events taking place in September, my free time is pretty limited these days, so I have to take the opportunities to get the shopping done when they arise!

I'm going to post up these photos before I get too behind in BGiving! Here are some pics of the girls dressed up as safair models from yesterday. These adorable jungle dresses are from VBAndrea.

Thank you so much for posting pics of the girls modeling! Avie's hair color looks fabulous with the colors in the skirt! Not so sure about Brooke's hat coordinating too well LOL! I'm so glad the outfits fit and the girls look stunning in them :)

Totally ADORABLE!! I cant believe the detail in those AK outfits!!! WOW!!! The hats are so cute. And the Tie Dye's so colorful - be ready for people to ask you which store you bought them in!! loving all the pixie dust too!!!:goodvibes Thanks for sharing their smiles with us!

Oh my goodness....

I love all the outfits and gifts from the BIG GIVE!!!!! The girls look so cute in their outfits! Those tye-dyed shirts are awesome! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

there are some seriously fantaticly talented people on the Dis!! these outfits are just absolutely adorable!!!!

Just tearing up over ALL of the beautiful Big Give talent and gifts...it is simply nothing less than spectacular to see the love poured over your family! I can't pick faves, although the crocheted Ariel doll makes me want to swoon, as do those Animal Kingdom outfits...GORGEOUS! Everything is simply stunning! I am SO excited for your family!

:lovestruc I honestly love seeing your girls opening the BG's . They are so precious. Brooke twirling around in her in the AK outfit is awesome! And Avie is cute as a button in hers as well.
Glad you guys like the tie dyes. I noticed somewhere along the way, somebody within the post office added some stickers to the package. It made me smile when I saw it. I had put the mickey ears on there front and back and of course Mickey Mail, but knowing someone else loves WDW and wanted to spread the love as well...not even knowing what was inside the package. Just a couple stickers made me smile. :lovestruc Thanks for posting pictures of everyone in them...You are gonna be we one well dressed family on your trip!
