Some of these Mypoints emails really make you think you are going to get big time points (looking official with your Member number) but then you find out you have to give your credit card :(
Sorry, just felt like venting...

...bonus point offers are misleading. I usually don't give my credit card number out on bonus offers that require a card # for trial memberships, etc...but...I finally thought I would try one--

On May 25th, I tried the "Homeworks" membership offer that required my credit card number. I was suppose to get a "membership kit" with membership card to access my HomeWorks benefits--this included details on how to claim my "free" $25 gift card to "Home Depot" (this is what hooked me as we are doing alot of work around our house).
I was suppose to receive this kit in 10-14 days. I thought the 30-day "free" trial membership would be OK then--I would have time to review the kit and get the $25 Home Depot card...hay, who knows? Maybe I may keep the deal. What harm, I thought, I could cancel (I noted the toll-free number to call) if I didn't want the membership charged on my card. Well...
We went on our WDW vacation in early June and I lost track of the 30 day trial membership period. I recently received my credit card bill and there was the $99.95 membership charge, plus a $1.00 charge processing fee?. It was billed "June 25th"--exactly a month later!
I was mad at myself for losing track of this...and...GUESS WHAT?! I did NOT receive the "membership kit" or the "free" $25 gift card for Home Depot. I called HomeWorks, and, after a phone menu maze, managed to talk to a customer rep. who tried his best to point out all the benefits, etc. Too late for me--not interested in the membership kit "after" the fact--probably needing to keep the charge on my card, etc...
Anyway, my card should be credited in 1 or 2 bill statements.
Maybe some of you had no problems with this offer. BUT, for ME, this was a lesson learned--no more of these trial membership deals!
I can't remember what bonus points I rec'd?...In my opinion, it wasn't worth it!!:) :jester:

I've done the same thing with trial memberships, only to forget things and have the fee charged to my credit card. So now I keep a rewards calendar, for days I have to cancel things, when rewards should be posted, etc. It helps, but sometimes I worry whether something will get past me.
