Misc Windsor Hills questions

We stayed there once before about five years ago. So I'm somewhat familiar with it, but I still have a few questions.

1) I was searching the board and saw something about only certain restaurants being able to deliver past the gates. The thread was older. Is this still true? If so, can anyone tell me what restaurants those are? I don't remember this being true when we were there, but we only ordered from the menus that were in the unit.

2) Last time we stayed in a condo. This time we are staying in a pool home. I'm wondering if we should ask for the pool to be heated or not? I know we'll have to wait and see what the weather is like, just wondering about if this is generally needed or not at the end of March? We're from MI so I imagine whatever the weather is like it will be warmer than we are accustomed to in March!

3) I know there is a new super Walmart near Windsor Hills but it sounds super busy. We'd prefer to pick out our own groceries. What's the best store to try if we want fewer crowds but decent prices? We don't mind paying a little more but don't want to pay exorbitant amounts for items.

Thanks!

Windsor Hills maintains a list of restaurants that they do not accept deliveries from. As this is updated frequently, you just have to ask at the gatehouse when you check in and they usually supply you with a list. You will have no problems ordering from most of the major chains, as long as you phone the gatehouse and let them know you are expecting a food delivery. We always use Papa John's and have never had any issues!

The weather in March is still pretty cool during the evenings and overnight. Last year March was cooler than February. We always get pool heat during those months and have never regretted it in the last 10 years. We love renting a pool house and use the pool and spa daily!

Personally, I don't find the Super Walmart any busier than any other Florida Walmart. It is super convenient and we have even walked there from Windsor Hills to pick up a few groceries. However, if you are looking for a quieter grocery store, the Publix on Old Lake Wilson Road, past Reunion Resort is a nice option but just be aware that Old Lake Wilson Road is very congested by local traffic during evening rush hour. Kissimmee and Orlando traffic has really increased over the last couple of years!

Thank you! Personally I would prefer to have groceries delivered but others in our group find the grocery shopping on vacation experience to be part of the family fun. We'll have four adults and three teens who will all want to go. It should be interesting! :rolleyes2:rotfl:
